You do not cook, clean, tidy, drive or iron.
There seem to be a load of people on this site that do none of these things (and I am not advocating that they are the only people in a family to shoulder the burden).
So what, exactly, is your contribution?

i’m an awesome sex goddess, my husband wants for nothing. And I do the ironing, sometimes with no knickers on 🤭

isthatmyage · 12/01/2025 00:37

drink 😊

stonebrambleboy · 12/01/2025 00:51

Cryptic crosswords ( very time consuming).

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 12/01/2025 00:59

I lay on my chaise longue eating the grapes that someone else peels for me.

Mum2So · 12/01/2025 01:04

DH does the school run every morning. I can drive but he mostly drives the family around. I have a cleaner. DH and I cook on alternate nights - same with putting DCs to bed. No ironing generally. I tend to tidy more.

Monty27 · 12/01/2025 01:08

Where I live there's daily posts from cleaning and such begging for work. No shortage that I can see.

BobbyBiscuits · 12/01/2025 01:12

I do things I enjoy. And care for other disabled people.
Why should women tidy, iron, domestic drudgery etc? Most men CBA to do it. I should only do what a man would do. Sit on my arse drinking and swearing at the telly. 🤣

AdjectiveColourAnimal · 12/01/2025 01:29

I live in a filthy hovel, wear wrinkly clothes and eat pot noodles.

coxesorangepippin · 12/01/2025 02:14

I do everything except iron

InWalksBarberalla · 12/01/2025 02:17

I screw the pool boy.

AlteredStater · 12/01/2025 02:40

I'm a slave to my cat's whims. Need I say more.

Izzabellasasperella · 12/01/2025 04:46

I cook 5 nights out of 7, adult dd does the other 2.
I tidy and clean more than others who live here which is an ongoing battle with the 4 other adults that live here😀
Never iron unless absolutely necessary. Although strangely I quite like it but life's too short to care about smooth pillowcases and tea towels 😀
Anyone who says they they don't do cleaning or tidying have someone doing it for them, either a family member or they are paying for a cleaner.

Octavia64 · 12/01/2025 04:49

I own the house.

(I'm seriously physically disabled and have carers and a cleaner)

SnapdragonToadflax · 12/01/2025 04:55

I can think of a thousand more interesting things to do than all of those things.

Unfortunately I have to do most of them at least sometimes, but if I didn't have to I would be very happy (physical illness or disability notwithstanding of course).

LetsNCagain · 12/01/2025 04:57

Why is paid employment not on your list, op?!

And yeah, ironing is not a regular thing in this house, unless someone has a job interview or something.

Top tip, if you hang up school uniform to dry on a clothes hanger rather than an airer, it dries un-creased.

ThoroughlyModernNotMillie · 12/01/2025 05:01

To posters who don't iron at all( and don't pay someone to do the ironing) do you wear all manmade fibres? Because cotton and linen clothes need ironing otherwise they look like a wrinkled mess. Same with cotton duvet covers and pillowcases. Do you ever use a tablecloth because unironed ones look awful. What about if you wash cotton or linen cushion covers, they need ironing or they look a mess?

Monty27 · 12/01/2025 05:08

@NoNoNona Take your oil.
When my DC were 2 and 4 now exdh shagged my best friend I chucked him out, divorced and bought him out of the property by borrowing on the mortgage and commuted to work full time. 25 years later the mortgage was paid. I retired from work early and downsized.
He's still a loser and our DC's know it.

Izzabellasasperella · 12/01/2025 05:09

I don't drive either. I did try but I just couldn't get it. I was so tense and scared every time I went out with my instructor that I lost all confidence. I tried practicing with Dh, big mistake, huge mistake😀
I walk everywhere I can or catch a bus. Very occasionally I'll ask for a lift somewhere but not very often.

Most things are fine if you hang them carefully before drying. I don't wear things that crease terribly (some linen), but cotton isn't a problem.

I wouldn't dream of ironing bed linen, no-one sees it except my family. I never use a tablecloth, and our cushion covers are velvet and seem fine after a wash.

I have different priorities. It doesn't really matter if my bedding looks wrinkled. I'm not trying to present a professional front in bed. I don't use tablecloths. This reminds me of my grandma (born in 1927, mind) asking me in shock what on earth I do when my DH gets holes in his socks if I don't know how to darn!

This is a really gross, ablelist and misogynistic post. Seriously, it's disgusting. I have a sneaking suspicion Stephen Hawking contributed quite a lot to the entire world despite never ironing, cleaning, cooking or driving. Please fuck off and remember that life is more than just doing housework.

AgentProvocateur · 12/01/2025 05:40

I work long hours. I have meals delivered, I have a cleaner, I use taxis and I send my ironing out. (I’m not in the U.K.)

BobnLen · 12/01/2025 05:45

Well, I doubt many will iron.

Tumble drier on iron setting.

BobnLen · 12/01/2025 05:48

I wear mainly cotton, though not cheap stuff and it never needs ironing, I just tumble dry it with not much in the dryer on a low heat and it knocks the creases out.
