Is it disrespectful/problematic to take a sex toy in hand luggage to Marrakech?

We are going to Marrakech for a holiday in a few weeks and I would like to take my vibrator.

I’m likely to take just cabin bags.

Will I encounter issues either going through or leaving the airport? I know it’s not illegal but I don’t want issues - or to appear disrespectful.

No judgments please, advice only.

You’re going on holiday. You should be able to survive without your vibrator and if you can’t you need to look at why that is.

christmascanfuckoff · 09/01/2025 12:18

I could not risk my bag being searched and the embarrassment

Can it also be used as a weapon ?

Pretty much anything can be used as a weapon

Sorry but lol.

Buy one that isn't penis shaped which would be a bit more discreet on the xrays!

thegirlwithemousyhair · 09/01/2025 12:21

No issues at all....

cut to image of dildo on luggage conveyor belt.

😂

Highly amused you’re so keen on the op getting this, you’ve posted twice and a link. 😂

because i didn't realise the rules of the country

Boomer55 · 09/01/2025 12:21

I can’t see why it would be embarrassing or disrespectful. Vibes are pretty mainstream now. 🤷‍♀️

If you’ve got a vibe bag, just put it in that - I’d take the batteries out though. 🙂

HamAndMustardSandwich · 09/01/2025 12:21

Is this poster for real? This comes across as a bit of a kink if you ask me e.g. having your vibrator on display in a public place.

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 09/01/2025 12:23

I'm going to sound like a massive prude....
I think it's quite disgusting to have a vibrator in your hand luggage when someone is potentially going to have to go through your luggage. Like maybe you are getting off on the fact that the security person has to handle your used vibrator?

It's a bit like men watching porn on the tube / bus... involving unwitting people into their fantasy wank bank.

I have been all over Morocco with work, boyfriends and later, my DD.

I would not take this in hand luggage to Marrekesh and DEFINITELY not during Ramadam. They are very particlular about things like this. DD(5) was taken away for 15 minutes qestioning once. Just because. Alcohol (unopened) has been confiscated.

No idea about legalities, but I would not do it. Also be very respectful with clothing.

nfkl · 09/01/2025 12:23

Ever heard of something called law?

https://www.douane.gov.ma/dms/loadDocument?documentId=43769#:~:text=Prohibited%20goods%20%3A,to%20morality%20and%20public%20order.

"The importation of the following goods is prohibited : - arms and ammunition, - narcotic drugs, - writings, printed documents, recorded cassettes and video-cassettes and all items contrary to morality and public order."

Personally, I wouldn't take the risk. Morocco is not a liberal democracy.

Unnecessary comment

Why? I thought it was a fair comment.

I’m not at all sensitive.

Perhaps you need a better vibrator, then.

🤣🤣🤣 badum-tish. I'm here all week, folks.

Good luck finding a shop that sells vibrators in Marrakech😂

Go to Guéliz - you can literally google it online (provided you speak French).

Was this recently? I came back from Marrakech this week, and aside from a lot of pointless queuing and extra stages at the airport (e.g. additional bag scans on the way in and out of the building, a second passport check immediately after the first one), they didn't seem that bothered about what was actually in our bags. The woman on the security conveyor wasn't even looking at the screen as mine went through.

Exactly - like those rubber ducky things, it doesn't have to be a double-ended knee trembler...

WellsAndThistles · 09/01/2025 12:27

You said "we", if the other person is a DH, stick it in their hand luggage rather your own, probably won't challenge a man the same way as they would shame a female.

(Apologies if I'm being presumptuous and the "we" isn't a DH).

TheOtherAgentJohnson · 09/01/2025 12:28

I doubt they'll give a shit, OP. If you wanted to take a drone, on the other hand...

wow, what a ridiculous comment

I think the comment about using my hand is judgemental about using a vibrator.

It seemed a natural comment to me

If it gets confiscated you'll have to use your hand 🤷🏻‍♀️
