I’ve put this on AIBU as it appears to be most read. A brilliant article about the rape gangs and the ensuing cover up.

Oh you’re back. What happened to ‘back off’?

You didn't, did you? Get over yourself.

I'm just glad it's all being talked about and I hope Starmer will continue to be under pressure to do something useful. The end.

That’s all you and your cohort want, talk. At least Jess Phillips is doing something about it, and has done all her working life.

Many muslim leaders and their apologists have followed the classic DAVRO playbook.

Deny: the girls gave consent, it never happened
Attack: they were slags, the uncovered sweet gets the flies etc etc
Reverse Victim and Offender: Islamophobia, we are minorities, colonial oppression.

There has been no visible, comprehensive, open and convincing attempt by the muslim community to address the problem and deal with the offenders. We hear many offenders with minimal or no sentencing and resisting deportation are still in good standing in their community. The guilty and unashamed and unpunished should be repudiated by all decent men and women. That is clearly not the case.

This! It is happening all over this thread too.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 09/01/2025 00:30

I don't have a "cohort" other than being a feminist who is fed up of successive incompetent governments. I don't like Jess Philips particularly but I'm very happy for her to get on with it, I don't see why this precludes further action to investigate the mass failings and hold people to account. As they should be.

"Since most grooming gangs are white.." This is just incorrect. The latest government report said 84% were Pakistani muslim heritage. We now have nearly 50 documented child rape and torture gangs aka grooming gangs and ALL HAVE THEM have been majority Pakistani muslim. Not one of these gangs has been majority Sikh, majority Hindu, majority white English, majority Chinese. Most grooming gangs come from one ethnicity - Pakistani muslim.

There seems to be a gap between the line you quoted and the report.

i don’t suppose you could link it thanks

Dear Eastern Standard

According to BBC - majority of grooming gangs south Asian https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-65174096

According to independent report by Quilliam 84% of all people convicted since 2005 for the specific crime of gang grooming were Asian. Google for the report

Grooming gangs and ethnicity: What does the evidence say?

Home Secretary Suella Braverman made several comments about the ethnicity of some high-profile gangs.

Have they done anything since then?

The Muslim Council of Britain put out a statement the other day supporting an inquiry if it’ll make a difference, saying it’s false for perpetrators to say their community or faith condone this behaviour but also raising concerns about those with a racist agenda: https://mcb.org.uk/mcb-we-need-truth-and-action-against-child-sexual-abuse-gangs-not-a-racist-witch-hunt/

I don’t know what they’ve done in between. I remember the sermon because I was impressed they were delivering a sermon in lots of mosques as well as condemning it in the media and I saw this statement earlier today on a live feed about the parliamentary debate.

MCB: ‘We Need Truth and Action Against Child Sexual Abuse Gangs, Not a Racist Witch-hunt’ | Muslim Council of Britain

Muslim Council of Britain will support yet another investigation into the grooming scandal if proponents can explain why previous inquiries costing millions have not given them the answer they are looking for Key Points The Muslim Council of Britain ca...

It is only a matter of seconds to google Rotherham Grooming, Telford Grooming, Oxford Grooming etc etc and look at the perpetrators. Hard to believe that anyone serious is claiming the majority of grooming gang perpetrators were white. Either stupid, lying, biased or insane.

Nice selective quoting. The Home Office clarified that she was talking about three of the most notorious grooming gang cases, from Rochdale, Rotherham, and Telford.’

She conveniently left out the rest of the country.

And the Quilliam Foundation was shut down because they lacked credibility.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 09/01/2025 00:48

The main reason I want an inquiry or something like it is to root out the individuals of all races who were supposed to have a duty of care for these young girls, who turned a blind eye or colluded, and for people to face sanctions. I'd also like some effort to be made to solving the problem of deporting these men (where they are not British citizens) after they have served their sentences.

I also want a proper focus on these gangs, not disappearing it into child abuse overall, not shying away from the race/culture elements or pretending it isn't relevant, to carry out research aimed at understanding this specific phenomenon and making these crimes much more difficult to commit. This needs a much more joined up approach.

Their words were ‘please give all the tragic victims of these Muslim Monsters…’

This is clearly racist and inflammatory language. Other people are never described as these Christian rapists or these Sikh rapists.

I would hazard a guess that the poster is referring to the rape gang, if that's a direct quote you've posted. I can't see why anyone would choose to be offended by describing those " men" as monsters.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 09/01/2025 00:59

If there were multiple gangs of white men preying mostly on Asian girls, we'd probably call it racism I think, and rightly so. It would be hate crime.

If you can’t see what’s wrong with trying to create a defined term such as Muslim Monsters then there really is no point in engaging with you.

Hopefully you can find examples of white rapists described as Christian Monsters and share them.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 09/01/2025 01:06

It's not "creating a defined term". It's a term one pp used for a group of fucking awful men who raped young, vulnerable girls.

No, she didn’t. It was very deliberate.

This is how it starts.

I don't get your post. Why are you so upset? you don't like these rape gangs to be referred to as monsters? well tough, that's what they are. In exactly the same way that the church had paedophile priests. They're ALL monsters.

When you start saying things like ‘Muslim Monsters’, you are defining all Muslims as monsters.

You know this, it’s just more convenient for you to pretend not to know.

When was Jimmy Savile ever referred to as a Christian Monsters? Or any other white rapist?

I feel like a broken record at this point as I've pointed it out a hundred times - " paedo priests" ( you know as in, servants for the church - generally older, white males). It's alliterative so tends to make for a punchy headline. " monster Christians" isn't, so doesn't have such an impact. It's entirely the same thing.

You do get that priests have a vocation in religion right? Why aren’t ordinary white rapists called Christian rapists? And that these rapists were taxi drivers who drank and did drugs, so as far from Islam as you can get?

But hey ho, as long as ‘Muslim Monsters’ is alliterative, let’s petition the BBC to start using the term.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 09/01/2025 01:59

Who do you think is "petitioning the BBC to use the term"? Hyperbole. It was just a throwaway comment by one poster. Why is everyone else being blamed for it 🙄

Yes. I'm not going to engage with you anymore. You're arguing with someone who didn't use the term in the first place - perhaps put your questions to the poster who did. You're purposely deflecting away from the real subject - the mass rapes of hundreds of poor vulnerable young girls. They deserve our attention not you and your imaginary ' hurt'.
