What terminology is hysterical? Specifically?

Can you highlight the “hysterical parts”?

How is giving a view on Musk and wanting him to stay out of UK politics “hysterical” and “shutting down debate?”

Which part is hysterical in tone:

To want Elon Musk to stay the fuck out of U.K. politics? 41 replies

And German politics and just focus on the President he’s already paid for and turning X into a toxic wasteland.

1000% this! I don't give a fiddlers fuck who is holding govt to account just as long as it's done. All the better that it's done on a global scale which will more than likely humiliate them into doing something as some sort of damage control.

Op, why are you and those who agree with you not engaging with the point that it’s not just a question of WHO is pointing this out, but the consequences beyond this one issue of allowing them this platform?

This isn’t about being uncomfortable with accepting support from someone objectionable but whose assistance is genuinely only positive.

I’d fully agree with you IF I believed that welcoming Musk’s interference could be limited to this issue. I don’t. Repeating over and over that you don’t care who’s talking about this implies you’re focused on this one issue alone and not considering the wider implications. Is that because you want a Musk autocracy? Or because you haven’t thought about it? Or because you think that’s a fair price to pay?

Because MSM are part of the establishment. It's all a big club.

All over social media. MSM only censorship & propaganda.

Both are a disgrace. They were also mostly Labour councils involved.

...operating under a Conservative Government, after 2019, many of these areas had Conservative MPs.

I'm fairly certain that local councillors don't enforce the law, the Police do, answerable to the Home office.

Yet the reports findings ignored.

Why?

These are 7 of the men according to BBC.

Ypu keep presenting this specific gang as if it’s the only one. Yes. That one was Muslim men. Yes, it was handled badly as a result. Nationwide there are many, many white gangs too. All are terrible. All need dealing with. Musk doesn’t care about any of them.

Absolutely right that the issue deserves to have a high profile and very happy he has achieved that.
That he does so because this is a highly provocative subject that will benefit his friend Farage over the next few years is something to observe very cautiously.
So not worried that he says what he says, but worried about his wider motives.

Craftymam · 03/01/2025 12:03

Needmoresleep · 03/01/2025 12:01

Doesn't mean he is wrong on this.

Musk or no Musk, why are we not doing more.

So many people are affected. The girls themselves. Young men who grow up to assume such behaviour is acceptable, so end up on the outskirts of society and eventually in prison. Girls and women in their own communities who may well be treated with an equivalent lack of respect, but with even less agency than the rape victims. Rapists rarely make good husbands.

What is wrong with our politicians? And indeed with some of the opinions expressed here. Why would you minimise something so awful just because someone who you don't like uses their platform to say something that needs saying?

I read one of the victims is campaigning because some of the girls got pregnant and they have to share custody delivering their children to the rapists.

Grooming is an inaccurate term, I agree. Grooming is the initial phase of child sexual abuse where the vulnerable victim is plied with drink, drugs, rides in flash cars etc. It is by no means restricted to the 'gang' offences.

It's unfortunate it has become a media shorthand term for the particular pattern of offending involving Asian men preying on vulnerable young white girls.

Child sexual exploitation (CSE) has become the term used in the criminal justice system for this pattern of offending. But that does not make for a snappy headline.

Whatever people may think there IS a specific pattern of offending related to Asian men acting together to target vulnerable young white girls, passing them around between themselves, and worse. This is why they are tried together in groups, as gangs. Blind eyes were turned in these cases by those in positions of responsibility or care. The report on the Rotherham scandal is very illuminating about why this happened.

I can't say similar gang style offending has not happened with groups of white men, of course not. However, white paedophiles tend to predominate in establishment type settings and largely act alone- in boarding schools, youth groups, churches, the entertainment industry and the like. And of course in families. In these types of cases the blind eyes turned were colleagues and authority figures and sadly, family members. I am sure we can all think of plenty of examples.

Both are egregious, horrific crimes. But it does the cause of CSE no good to ignore the fact that a particular MO exists within a particular demographic.

I despise Musk. And I agree his intervention is entirely opportunistic and aimed at building support for his chosen party. This is why uncomfortable facts must be acknowledged as to pretend otherwise simply fuels the far right.

I don't think you're right. It's use of the term 'gang' that supercharges this.

Loose affiliations of dodgy losers who hang around teens and try to have sex with them. Plenty of white 'gangs' like that. We just don't call them gangs.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 03/01/2025 12:04

In the bigger picture we cannot allow eugenecists with power, media control and money to start sticking their noses into elected government no matter how noble you think their cause is

Right idea but wrong tense, @Globusmedia; people like this have been meddling in government since time immemorial, so while I'm no admirer of much about Musk I'm more interested in why so many object to this particular intervention - and looking at the many comments seeking to minimise what's happening I'd say that was obvious

Why shouldn't they be allowed this platform! Everyone & anyone should be able to hold government to account , otherwise we would have a dictatorship rather than a democracy .

Well I’m glad Musk is highlighting this again, every sexual predator an rapist no matter which country they are in deserve to be sentenced and locked up in the worst prisons we can find.

Dirty horrible men and it makes no odds who highlights it or what their motives are. If you play political football then you are just as guilty as they are.

How about C&P the relevant bit of the IIRC report that addresses the cultural element of these abuse gangs and recommendations on how police should be disciplined for their treatment of these girls?

I am actually disturbed now at the number of people who claim to care about this - calling for a full enquiry - but did not realise there has been one.
I was unaware but I have not made this my passion. Had I done so I would certainly have educated myself on what had been done to date.

And how many say it ‘needs to be reopened’ because the Tories didn’t bother with the recommendations. It would be a waste of time to reopen it. It was very wide ranging (I know as DD was invoked with the fact finding part in her work).

I really wish there was a way for admins to move threads like this that are obv posted for clicks out of the trending topics.

Are we all against child sexual exploitation and want to see it stopped? Yes.

Can any conversation about this issue be remotely serious when it is based on half arsed comments by a man who is CURRENTLY promoting videos that are in contempt of court, promoting neo-nazis, and trying to influence foreign politics around the globe on a social media site that he has run into the ground? No. Elon DOESN'T CARE - he just wants to arse around.

SkiingonKaraSea · 03/01/2025 11:48

NewYearAndNotOnADiet · 03/01/2025 12:08

Do I think Musk should stay out of UK politics. Yes.

However, KS is a dangerous middle class socialist who is willing to throw anyone under a bus to achieve his ideology. He’s worse than Jeremy Corbyn. He thinks he is untouchable and he can do what he likes. He has a majority, but is now deeply unpopular, and the cowards in the Labour Party won’t get rid of him, and he’s just steamrolling ahead with what he thinks is best for us thick plebs.

Enter Elon Musk, the richest man on the planet, a genius who owns Twitter who has a serious issue with woke, and hates child abusers.

User135644 · 03/01/2025 12:08

Funny how people didn't have a problem with Murdoch picking and choosing Prime Ministers and even Labour and Tony Blair begging for his approval.

Because Musk is backing Reform now they have a problem

You are just "calling out" Labour because it suits your political beliefs.

You had SFA to say pre Musk or on the Tories not taking action of the last report.

Anyone can see this, just as you don't answer any points that show your posts to be, to put it politely, incorrect.

What does “Hard Left” mean to you?
What is your definition of a personal attack and can you point to where these have been made?
Do you not see the irony in complaining about “personal attack al while labelling anybody who writes something you disapprove of “hard left”?

You are - it’s not an insult. It’s a fact. A prime example of the left trying to shut down any discourse they don’t like. Via whatabouterry, patronising language, insults and infantilising. The lack of self awareness of how actions like this are impacting on our political sphere is amazing. Don’t worry, I understand all of these big words. 🙄

The discussion is about organised rape gangs. Educate yourself before making false statements about the organised rape of around 25000 little girls.
