The Pakistani and affiliated communities have not apologised, collectively, for their actions or focused on tackling their own sex criminals. All they do is say "but not all of us!" and cry racism - making themselves the victims, rather than gang-raped children.

Collective shame, apologies and restorative actions would go a long way to stopping malcontent. Just as white British people have to do for our collective crimes.

Why on earth would the entirety of the “Pakistani Community” need to collectively apologise or feel shame for criminals that happen to share an ethnic background?

Do you apply that to all communities? Do you apologise whenever white criminals commit a crime?
Apologising would be the stupidest thing ever as it would reinforce the concept of collective accountability.

Over40Overdating · 03/01/2025 11:23

@BrickRedLipstick where is anyone denying what happened? There was an enquiry. There were recommendations on how to stop a repeat.
A Tory government ignored them. The Labour government still have time to be held to account to do what the tories would not.

What people are questioning is why are some posters only so fired up about this now and not when the tories did fuck all?

Why are they only caring about a UK issue when it’s being raised by a South African who used his social media platform and his wealth to get a convicted sex offender and proud misogynist re-elected as US president when he’s not fit to run a raffle, now that he’s trying to influence U.K. politics.

If you think Musk cares about women you don’t lack critical thinking skills, you lack any thinking skills. He is a woman hating opportunistic egotist.

I’ve said several times on here I don't like Musk and his motive is to destabilise the UK. If you want to chuck insults, please take care to check the facts first.

Createausernameplease · 03/01/2025 11:28

Chainzreaction · 03/01/2025 11:25

But Labour are in power now & can reopen the investigation & inquiry & implement ALL changes plus create new ones to ensure this never happens again. The buck now stops with them.
I hope Musk will be a horrible thorn in their side forcing them to do the right thing & reopen the enquiry.

They’ve been in power for less than a year. Give them a chance 😂. If you think Elon Musk cares at all about this grooming scandal or anything to do with what anyone else other than himself goes through you’re very wrong.

His own daughter regularly calls him out on his bullshit

cardibach · 03/01/2025 11:28

Cailin66 · 03/01/2025 10:38

And is the current Labour government not using this politically by not having the full blown inquiry. Since they are loath to piss off Muslim voters. Keir Starmer as Crown Prosecutor has questions to answer but he is now Prime Minister and will not want any scrutiny of his own actions.

THERE. HAS. BEEN. A. FULL. ENQUIRY.
Also Starmer is t(e one who successfully lead the CPS to convictions in Rotherham….

justasking111 · 03/01/2025 11:28

JK Rowling has been pilloried for sticking her nose in because she's an incredibly rich woman. Why does that make her irrelevant?

Musk is doing the same.

Relations in Yorkshire have police officers in the family who are absolutely helpless in the face of these gangs, because they're untouchable. It's still going on btw.

JHound · 03/01/2025 11:28

Zebedee999 · 03/01/2025 11:26

When our own government want to cover up the rape gangs (and don't know what a woman is etc) then I don't care who calls them out on it. Good on Musk for raising the profile of this travesty.
Our own Minster for Safeguarding wants it buried as she only wants to safeguard these gangs as they predominantly vote labour whereas yound girls can't vote. Despicable, it's all about the votes not what is right. This government is not for women.
I've worked within some of these communities and in Bradford 63% of Pakistani women married their cousins, a large number of whom were underage at the time of marriage... but Labour will not act on any of these things, always ignored or covered up. Minister of Safeguarding and Labour are completely failing women at every level.

How did this government engage in a cover up.

Sampler · 03/01/2025 11:28

Musk doesn’t give a flying fuck about the gangs - he will use and continue to use anything he digs up or sees to fuel his push towards his mate Farage getting into power. His aim is to whip up people and get Reform, who will be on his payroll to do his bidding. It’s like watching some bad film of Dr Evil trying to rule the world.

how can anyone not see the hypocrisy of him supporting a series of sexual offenders is beyond me. Worrying times.

Chainzreaction · 03/01/2025 11:29

Workhardcryharder · 03/01/2025 11:26

They’ve only been in power a minute, the tories had YEARS, give them half a chance

Well it needs to be reopened immediately. The previous inquiry was obviously not fit for purpose especially as none of the changes were implemented. So Labour needs to reopen now. It should have been reopened anyway without pressure from Musk
.

I’m very much in favour of light being shone on this outrageous scandal, how these rapists have actually managed to get away with their crimes is mind blowing.

As for Elon Musk- in my opinion, I am hopeful that his ‘meddling’ from a his X account will disrupt our politics to invoke real change for the better.

I do also think that he should also use some of his vast wealth to do a lot of good, whether that happens remains to be seen but he has an opportunity to carve a place in history as one of the greats.

They haven’t. They’ve been prosecuted and jailed.

I am actually disturbed now at the number of people who claim to care about this - calling for a full enquiry - but did not realise there has been one.
I was unaware but I have not made this my passion. Had I done so I would certainly have educated myself on what had been done to date.

I honestly couldn’t give a shit about what Musk’s opinion is on anything. He’s not a UK politician and has no influence on this situation. If Labour is annoyed with him I’m guessing it’s because he’s out for himself as always and doesn’t actually care about VAWG, people like that don’t. They just use it to make their own usually racist/fascist point. See also Tommy 10 names Robinson. And Farage. Hey, maybe if he can tear himself away from crawling up Trump’s arse he can act as a decent opposition and hold Labour to account, along with that prize winning idiot Badenock.

Sasskitty · 03/01/2025 11:30

Aduvetday · 03/01/2025 11:27

So isolating these people further by calling them nutters, right wing bigots, racist etc will really help.

The left have for too long tried to shut down any discourse they don’t like. Cancel culture. That’s now biting you right back. Anyone not far left has been deemed extreme right wing. Anyone from centrist onwards have been shut down for too long. People like EM are now filling the void you all created. Good job.

💯 You are absolutely right here.

We've got a problem when left wing bull shit is as prolific as right wing bullshit.

Over40Overdating · 03/01/2025 11:30

Chainzreaction · 03/01/2025 11:09

Well this has been a huge failure on the part of the UK government & I for one have no confidence in them.

It was a huge failure when the Tories did nothing @Chainzreaction - why didn’t you care then?

Why do you only care when a right wing fascist from another country is trying to pin it on a centre left U.K. government?

Where has your outrage and disgust been til now? Why do the lives of these girls only matter to you now, when you’ve had years to express your disgust and try to fight for justice for them?

How much do you actually care about this issue and how much do you really care about being a compliant mouth piece for a racist wanna-be global dictator, who cares not a jot for a single woman or child on this earth.
A man who literally used his young child as a shield in case he was the next target for a vigilante shooter.
You care more about propping up the ego of a man like that than you care about vulnerable girls in Yorkshire.

cardibach · 03/01/2025 11:31

Chainzreaction · 03/01/2025 10:46

It's not a smear campaign! It's drawing global attention to the fact that an enquiry MUST take place.

Are you not even reading your own thread. There’s been a report. In 2022. It’s been l8nked to several times on here. Go and look at it before making yourself look so badly informed and easily swayed by lies.

SkiingonKaraSea · 03/01/2025 11:31

cardibach · 03/01/2025 11:26

You can read these details because THERE’S ALREADY BEEN AN INVESTIGATION. And then a further wide ranging enquiry and report. Musk is asking for stuff that has already happened. Why are you being taken in?

Where in that inquiry recommendations does it investigate ethnicity/immigrant cultures?

JHound · 03/01/2025 11:31

Reopening it slows down implementation.

She is amazing. Tweeting about the rape gangs yesterday. Great to see so many powerful, relevant individuals weighing in raising awareness & heaping the pressure on government

Aibu to be very happy Elon Musk is putting so much pressure on Stamer over the grooming gang tragedies?

The inquiry DOES NOT need to be reopened.
The recommendations need to be implemented - which the Tory Government did nothing about and the Labour Government is addressing.

Or would you prefer another 5 years of inquiry without action?

Precisely. They should be held to the same standard as white people.

Just like white people are forced to apologise endlessly for slavery and colonialism- regardless of family history or ethnic background.

Just like white people turned out in force counter-protesting the August riots.

mortal2024 · 03/01/2025 11:31

It's wonderful, absolutely fantastic that the rape gangs are finally being given the attention they deserve and anybody who is upset at anyone, no matter who, helping this to happen is utterly vile and a red flag walking.

This tweet was a real eye opener to me

"In the UK, serious crimes such as rape require the Crown Prosecution Service's approval for the police to charge suspects. Who was the head of the CPS when rape gangs were allowed to exploit young girls without facing justice? Keir Starmer, 2008 -2013"

https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1874664089894695221

ANYONE with any influence, power or money must hold their feet to the fire until every single member of every rape gang and every person who helped cover up the rape gangs is in prison.

It’s literally happening in real time on this thread. The same left wing posters trying to shut down any debate and words like right wing and nutters. Then act all shocked when populist figures are attracting the politically homeless. Talk about a lack of self awareness. They ARE the problem. It is people feeling so disenfranchised about everything that is driving people towards populist figures. The election in 4 years - I think will reflect that.

Right wing, left wing, centrist. These girls and families were let down by everyone.

JHound · 03/01/2025 11:32

SkiingonKaraSea · 03/01/2025 11:31

What specifically would you “investigation of ethnicity / immigrant cultures” look like?

SlightlyJaded · 03/01/2025 11:33

What happened to those girls is abhorrent and the excuses and minimisation even more so (because at least those men are animals clear as day - the excusers were people put in positions where they were being paid to uphold the law and keep people safe).

Some of those people were working under a labour council at the time, but our government was a Tory one - where does the buck actually stop?

Elon Musk is working his own agenda - everyone knows that. But what he is calling out on behalf of Monsieur Farage no doubt is a fair point. There is now such a fear of being branded racist, that people are not being prosecuted or investigated, because those who should be doing it are in fear for their jobs and reputations.

This needs addressing.

I'm glad the spotlight is on this horror show, and hope it will spark a wider debate and change, but pressure needs to come from our own opposition. Elon has done us a favour today, but he is a lose cannon and nothing to do with British politics. Tomorrow's agenda and actions might not be so favourable.
