In order to post a whole load of inflammatory misinformation and to big up Musk? I would have more respect for you if you had posted under a more well used user name.

What misinformation?! How is it inflammatory? Any mother would be furious, disgusted & appalled that children were raped & tortured by an organised gang. There is no sugar coating it.

Well this has been a huge failure on the part of the UK government & I for one have no confidence in them.

That is not an answer to the question you were asked.

THERE'S ALREADY BEEN AN INQUIRY!
Perhaps if people like you paid some fucking attention things may change. But you only seem to care when megalomaniacs like EM get involved.

I have had a look but fail to see where that inquiry recommends discipline and prosecution of police who handed these girls over to their torturers. It also does not seem to address the ethnicity considerations beyond saying this should be recorded.

On the other hand we do know that Starmer was involved in the sentencing guidelines that mean men with thousands of child abuse images driving the child abuse involved in their production are let off with a slap on the wrist.

No I've been here for years. Just fancied a name change for the new year!

Or for this post, for reasons we are each free to speculate on.

Could you at least give some sort of trigger warning before you started saying stuff like that because I don’t know if any of that is true? I don’t know if you’ve made that up. I don’t know because I only have your say on that it sounds absolutely disgusting but again there has been multiple fucking enquiries about this. What do you want now? Why do you think Elon Musk is saying this now? There is nothing new that’s going to happen.

It is all true and has been reported widely as part of court proceedings. Seriously, you want a trigger warning - how pathetic to put your own delicate feelings above confronting what has happened to these children.

WishinAndHopin · 03/01/2025 11:21

The Pakistani and affiliated communities have not apologised, collectively, for their actions or focused on tackling their own sex criminals. All they do is say "but not all of us!" and cry racism - making themselves the victims, rather than gang-raped children.

Collective shame, apologies and restorative actions would go a long way to stopping malcontent. Just as white British people have to do for our collective crimes.

Widely-shared posts on Facebook make an unsubstantiated claim about Mr Starmer’s work for the Crown Prosecution Service.

The misinformation about there not having been an inquiry.

As for inflammatory, well you posted a link to the Mail.

Didn’t the Tories block an inquiry into the Oldham gangs back in 2022? Not sure you can really blame Labour for all of this when they weren’t in power for 16 years and it first started to all come out in 2012

Workhardcryharder · 03/01/2025 11:22

Nameychangington · 03/01/2025 09:00

Don't call the industrial-scale rape and torture of children a dog whistle. Just fucking don't.

The “dog whistle” is obviously not referring to the actual events. It’s referring to the empty virtue signalling coming from Elon Musk. No need to find offence where offence is not

Over40Overdating · 03/01/2025 11:23

@BrickRedLipstick where is anyone denying what happened? There was an enquiry. There were recommendations on how to stop a repeat.
A Tory government ignored them. The Labour government still have time to be held to account to do what the tories would not.

What people are questioning is why are some posters only so fired up about this now and not when the tories did fuck all?

Why are they only caring about a UK issue when it’s being raised by a South African who used his social media platform and his wealth to get a convicted sex offender and proud misogynist re-elected as US president when he’s not fit to run a raffle, now that he’s trying to influence U.K. politics.

If you think Musk cares about women you don’t lack critical thinking skills, you lack any thinking skills. He is a woman hating opportunistic egotist.

SkiingonKaraSea · 03/01/2025 11:23

How is that article relevant to my comment about his role in sentencing guidelines?

Labour councillors deliberately didn't want to disclose the religious or racial identities of the perpetrators in Rochdale because they thought it would harm their electoral chances by boosting support for the Conservatives:

dywpk.org.uk/ex-labour-chairman-advised-against-discussing-grooming-gang-ethnicity/

And you know this because there’s already been an investigation.

JHound · 03/01/2025 11:24

I also think British Governments should not be drawn into any form of online debate with a billionaire whose only goal is for western countries to implement the kind of society he grew up in. He does not care about these girls or violence against women and girls in general (as we see with his ardent support for Trump.)

If the enquiries recommendations are being sat on that is a failure of the previous and current governments and they should act on that. But Apartheid Clyde should be firmly ignored.

It's the job of the opposition parties to hold the government to account NOT eccentric foreign tycoons.

It’s the job of everyone to hold governments to account.

A light needed shining and an inquiry is needed but as far as Elon Musk interfering goes - my question is why - what’s in it for him ?

It’s like cancel the cheque.
There’s been a report. 2 years ago.

But Labour are in power now & can reopen the investigation & inquiry & implement ALL changes plus create new ones to ensure this never happens again. The buck now stops with them.
I hope Musk will be a horrible thorn in their side forcing them to do the right thing & reopen the enquiry.

Fluufer · 03/01/2025 08:57

I do agree that action should be taken, but I'd really rather the ego maniac mega rich stay out of our politics. Elon doesn't actually give a shit, he's stirring for own benefit and we shouldn't encourage it.

When our own government want to cover up the rape gangs (and don't know what a woman is etc) then I don't care who calls them out on it. Good on Musk for raising the profile of this travesty.
Our own Minster for Safeguarding wants it buried as she only wants to safeguard these gangs as they predominantly vote labour whereas yound girls can't vote. Despicable, it's all about the votes not what is right. This government is not for women.
I've worked within some of these communities and in Bradford 63% of Pakistani women married their cousins, a large number of whom were underage at the time of marriage... but Labour will not act on any of these things, always ignored or covered up. Minister of Safeguarding and Labour are completely failing women at every level.

cardibach · 03/01/2025 11:26

BrickRedLipstick · 03/01/2025 10:37

Read the details of what happened in Rochdale and Rotherham then come back and tell us whether you still believe Musk is as evil as those men.

You can read these details because THERE’S ALREADY BEEN AN INVESTIGATION. And then a further wide ranging enquiry and report. Musk is asking for stuff that has already happened. Why are you being taken in?

Aduvetday · 03/01/2025 11:27

JHound · 03/01/2025 11:14

The lack of critical thinking and its replacement with emotional thinking is a worry given so many of those people have the vote.

So isolating these people further by calling them nutters, right wing bigots, racist etc will really help.

The left have for too long tried to shut down any discourse they don’t like. Cancel culture. That’s now biting you right back. Anyone not far left has been deemed extreme right wing. Anyone from centrist onwards have been shut down for too long. People like EM are now filling the void you all created. Good job.
