Mine got me “what I asked for and more than the budget”… We don’t have a set budget that I’m aware of 😂 but if we did it would be more than that.

The good, the bad, the ugly. How did you do? I’d love to hear stories of spoilt mums 🙏🏻

I have been using his VR headset for a while as I play fitness games. He got me my own Metaquest 3 which I was thrilled about. Also a really nice hairdryer which I needed.

pinkchampagne1 · 30/12/2024 09:07

A Foreo Bear (I had asked for one)
Jo Malone mini perfume set
Swarovski earrings
Ivy voucher
Pyjamas & socks

PotatoBreadForTheWin · 30/12/2024 09:14

I always buy myself a lovely gift at Christmas as I've had so many years being disappointed by my DH's appalling choices. This year was no different. Already gone to the charity shop are: a horrid cheap vanilla scented candle, a book already on our bookshelf, cheap toiletries and some M&S jewellery (normally a safe choice for me, but as mentioned, he has awful taste)

I bought myself some beautiful earrings.

AlpacaMittens · 30/12/2024 09:28

He got me some gardening themed charms for my crocs 😬😬😬😬

CannonballTaffyOJones · 30/12/2024 09:37

A new snake. He took me to the shop to choose one

Wond3rment · 30/12/2024 09:42

I got a gift voucher for a jewellery maker as I am saving up for a beautiful jewellery piece. I am very grateful.

He also got me some surprises….I feel so ungrateful but I have to say it - they are completely wasteful. I can’t believe how influenced he has been by instahuns.

An awful rip off of a Dyson Airwrap. I don’t need a hairdryer, I didn’t ask for one. I’ve tried it, my hair was like straw afterwards. If I continued using it my hair would be so damaged.

A desktop light up make up mirror thing, lightweight plastic and just ugly. I didn’t ask for it and would never use it.

A pair of PJs that are not my size, he binned the tags so they can’t be returned.

He’s a very generous and kind person. This year I firmly believe that he was simply influenced by influencers petaling absolute shite.

I’m thinking a wish list will be the way forward going forward, simply to avoid waste to be honest.

I feel guilty writing this…..

New pjamas
Some crystal art

Lounge set

Pussycat22 · 30/12/2024 10:00

Lovely gifts everyone 🥰

TeenLifeMum · 30/12/2024 10:02

Sparkly boots, wellies, perfume and some lovely little stocking fillers - socks, notepad etc.

Mespher · 30/12/2024 10:04

Nothing, we never buy each other presents we just get what we want, when we want

LMichelleFxx · 30/12/2024 10:11

We had agreed on one token gift each as we wanted to take our eldest on a trip to London in the spring (youngest was born this year and as a big brother he deserves some special one on one time) so we decided that that would be our gift to each other.

Christmas Day comes round and his token gift is a desk calender he makes me every year made of pictures from the year just gone (it’s always my favourite present!) but he has also gone and booked us a trip to centre parcs for the 4 of us paid out of his own money and not our joint funds.

I felt very spoilt x

Colinswheels · 30/12/2024 10:16

A pair of snow boots I bought myself and then gave him to give me
A Pandora charm
Cyberjammies pyjamas (my favourite)
Tickets to Hamilton with a night in a fancy hotel for the same night

I'm delighted with all of it

Mapleunicorn · 30/12/2024 10:17

DP rather than DH. It’s our first Christmas together but I was really pleased with how thoughtful he was.

A big winter coat I had my eye on but didn’t buy when we went shopping recently as I was hoping it might go in the Black Friday sale (it didn’t)

A book that it didn’t know but seems right up my street

A massive scented candle

A lovely set of bath stuff

I know the last 3 sound generic, but I love reading, baths and candles so they are perfect ❤️

NeedWineNow · 30/12/2024 10:31

Some silver and Labradorite earrings to match a ring that I already have (he'd already got these when we were in Oxford before Christmas but kept them to wrap up)
The new Stanley Tucci book
A crochet make your own bag set that I'd mentioned I'd like.
A voucher for afternoon tea at a local stately home. We've been there for vintage fairs in the grounds but we've never been inside the house.

He can be a bit hit or miss with gifts so he likes a list with my suggestions but also comes up with ideas of his own like the afternoon tea voucher. I was really pleased with everything. I've ordered a couple of sale bits as well and he's said to have them as part of my present also.

Toooldforlonghair · 30/12/2024 10:37

Phone, leather handbag, calendar, Pandora charm and filled a stocking with chocolate and Prosecco. I knew about the phone but not the rest. Was especially happy with the bag as it replaces my day to day that is on it's 'last legs. He had to do some real research to find it as the orginal is over 20 years old and no longer made!

CatsBeCrazy · 30/12/2024 10:37

We don't have lots of money but I really wanted a decent silver anklet this year as the one he bought about a year ago wasn't silver like it stated . He now knows to use reputable stores (and not third parties on Amazon) lol . Anyone I love it so much I had to buy myself a toe ring to go with it 🤣

TheatreTraveller · 30/12/2024 10:45

DH got me
3 lovely books - one is a cloth covered classic
Huge box of chocolates
A table for my Disney Castle
3 boxes of Hotel Chocolat hot chocolate
Harry Potter Ministry Lego Set
Tickets for an event on holiday last month
Tickets for the Strictly Tour (posh ones with drinks and lounge access)
A chocolate orange!

DungareesAndTrombones · 30/12/2024 10:54

Nothing because we are absolutely skint. He did do loads of Xmas food shopping and all the tidying up though so I'm happy.

Iwrotethelyricstoaxlf · 30/12/2024 11:02

StiggyZardust · 30/12/2024 11:12

A Garmin fitness watch and some fancy face cream.
We've got to the point where neither of us want or need much.

Showerflowers · 30/12/2024 11:20

Tenth anniversary of my much loved grandmothers death was earlier this month. We've fallen into a tradition of putting our tree up on that date as she loved Christmas. Her house would be full of twinkly lights and she collected porcelain Christmas ornaments. I always adored her big ceramic light up Christmas tree that she actually made herself in a pottery class. I found one online very similar but they are very collectible now and it was 250 pounds. I mentioned this to my dh and the fact I'd asked for it when she passed away but my aunt gave it to her dd instead.

Christmas morning I opened my living room door and there lit up in all its glory was my grans tree.

Dh had contacted my aunt and asked if it was possible to have the tree and she said he could if her dd agreed. Turns out the tree had sat in her loft since she got it. They told dh he could have it but they wanted money for it.

He then took a secret day off work to travel an 8 hour round trip to pay them and safely bring it home. He didn't trust that if he sent the money that they would send it, or it might break in transit.

He's just the most thoughtful man. So selfless and really cares.

duckduckgooseduckagain · 30/12/2024 11:26

We don't do Christmas presents and usually just buy something for our own Birthday (I bought a wormery for mine) but he made a wonderful Christmas dinner for our adult children and partners and even got up early to make me some vegan yorkshire puds. He's a good one.

DilemmaDelilah · 30/12/2024 11:31

I only really wanted one thing - a gold bracelet - and I didn't think I would get it as gold is so expensive. My birthday is in November so I thought maybe I might get it as a joint present, but I got a nice present in November so I resigned myself to not getting it. I did get it, and it is beautiful! Absolutely perfect. AND he also gave me a rechargeable 'electric' 'hot water bottle' as well as a load of smaller, thoughtful, gifts in my Christmas stocking.

This is the man who looks after me when I am unwell, cooks and does the housework when I am working, is the best 'grandfather' to my (not his) grandsons, who is the first port of call for my daughters (who have their own father), who brings me breakfast in bed every day, despite being 70 and having his own health issues. I love him so much - the presents are just the cherry on the top.

OldGreyBoots · 30/12/2024 02:41

This sounds eerily similar to mine! What game did you get? Grin

Ohh that's funny! I got The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. How about you?
