Mine got me “what I asked for and more than the budget”… We don’t have a set budget that I’m aware of 😂 but if we did it would be more than that.

The good, the bad, the ugly. How did you do? I’d love to hear stories of spoilt mums 🙏🏻

Some furniture upcycling paint in various colours which I asked for 💗

pilates · 30/12/2024 07:55

Nothing - we both agreed not to buy for each other this year.
We are carrying out renovations to our house and prefer to spend on this for the time being.

YesExactlyYes · 30/12/2024 07:57

A DVD I wanted - we don't bother with expensive gifts as we prefer to shop around for more expensive things, not in the run up to Christmas. I got him a shirt and slippers.

OliveLeader · 30/12/2024 07:59

A new coffee mug and saucer I spotted on holiday a while ago which he secretly bought, a silk shirt, a few books, a canning kit I have been wanting, fancy chocolates, some luxury bath products, perfume, pasta bowls, a gold bangle and a fancy scented candle. I also got a stocking with a glass Christmas bauble, posh teabags, coffee beans, a coffee bean scoop, a notebook from a beautiful paper shop we went into on holiday, craft supplies for a hobby I do and a tub of my fancy face cream.

All extremely welcome - he’s a very good gift giver!

A beautiful necklace
A cashmere jumper
A Lego botanicals set
Two books

I was very happy :)

bigkidatheart · 30/12/2024 08:07

designer clothes which I don't normally wear

BigDahliaFan · 30/12/2024 08:07

Mine hates presents and present buying. He bought me some M&S earrings that I'd pointed out and upgraded our holiday flight to business...

HairyToity · 30/12/2024 08:09

Nothing. We always spend the money on kids at Christmas not each other.

PictureItSicily · 30/12/2024 08:10

We decided to do handmade gifts this year. DH decorated Russian nesting dolls with our faces. It's absolutely beautiful, I was completely blown away.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 30/12/2024 08:16

Some bubble wrap, packing tape and shrink wrap. 😂 To be fair to him, I have a slight obsession with selling on Vinted and have raided our house of all useable packaging so I was pleased with that.

He also got me some Pandora charms and other bits that I asked for. Our main present to ourselves was a decent camping chair each.

Ginmonkeyagain · 30/12/2024 08:24

Membership of the Tate and an Oyster card wallet covered in Japanese cat print.

Very pleased.

laddersandsnakes12 · 30/12/2024 08:29

A vinyl record player and a couple of vinyl albums, some nice skin care sets, a book and a chocolate orange. Pretty pleased with it all, I've been wanting a record player for ages. He's always been brilliant at buying presents though, puts me to shame a lot of the time!

Bbq1 · 30/12/2024 08:33

I was spoilt. I had really wanted something pretty and Victorian for ages and received a gorgeous silver jewellery box. Dh also brought me books, Versace perfume, beautiful candles, Wuthering Heights earrings and a fluffy cat bag and I'm still waiting for something Dh says is on the way from LA!

Bbq1 · 30/12/2024 08:37

I forgot, I was also gifted ear defender buds for when we go to some gigs/music events.

Bbq1 · 30/12/2024 08:38

Dh has always cooked tge roast - he's an amazing cook.

lissie123 · 30/12/2024 08:44

A train trip in Scotland and then an overnight train back south. It’s slightly odd but it’s what I really wanted. And some beautiful earrings.

luckylavender · 30/12/2024 08:51

Mine got me a Parlux hairdryer, a kindle paper white and some books I wanted. Very happy.

DisforDarkChocolate · 30/12/2024 08:56

A jigsaw and some chocolates. He's normally much better but we've just moved house and it was insanely stressful for the last month. I couldn't even think of anything to suggest, all I really wanted was the house to look semi-sorted for Christmas and we did that.

OMG! This sounds amazing. I'm a bit sad it's something you can't post a picture of.

Summerbreeze456 · 30/12/2024 08:58

Nothing.
He walked out this summer. I guess he considers the child support payments my present.
I made some chocolates and DS picked which ones he wanted to give him for Christmas (because I'm not an arsehole and DS had already refused to give him a birthday present).

kikisparks · 30/12/2024 08:59

i asked for expensive skincare and said no more as that was more than the budget, but he got me 2 games I really wanted and chocolate from my favourite place, I felt very cherished. However felt a bit bad as I got him quite boring stuff but he never tells me what he wants!

Username9898 · 30/12/2024 08:59

I had a t-shirt I had spotted in a shop, a jar of crispy chili oil, a jewellery box (I’ve been moaning for ages about not having one), a face mist spray and an Arhoj ghost (I collect them). There’s was an also a stocking with little gardening bits and socks in. AND I’m a December birthday so he has his work cut out! He’s generally very good and starts making notes in September about it things I’ve mentioned.

Iwishicouldflyhigh · 30/12/2024 08:59

Solid gold necklace, solid gold bracelet, Jo loves votive set, nougat, socks, Oliver bonus jumper, Pandora charm!

muddyford · 30/12/2024 08:59

My birthday is just before Christmas and I asked DH for top of the range binoculars for birdwatching as a joint present. They cost way more than any present before and are such an upgrade on my thirty year old pair, which were state of the art then. I'm a full-time carer for DH so we don't go anywhere or do anything but I can slip out for an hour and see some birds.

BeAzureAnt · 30/12/2024 08:59

A Japanese hydroponic system for growing fresh greens and herbs (welcome…I like to garden)

A wind chime for the garden. (I like it, and we are a 1/2 mile from the nearest neighbour so we aren’t bothering anyone, and we hung it far back in the garden).

A little armillary sphere for the garden…I’ve wanted something like this for ages.

He received whiskey, a new fleece, some new wellies, and a figgy pudding food box as he likes food and wanted a really good Christmas pudding. We are having it on NYE.
