Mine got me “what I asked for and more than the budget”… We don’t have a set budget that I’m aware of 😂 but if we did it would be more than that.

The good, the bad, the ugly. How did you do? I’d love to hear stories of spoilt mums 🙏🏻

You mean, what did I buy & wrap myself for Christmas? Some swarovski crystal figurines. I collect them.

A Switch game, tickets to a comedy show, a DIY book nook kit, a vase for my Lego flowers, and some stocking bits (sweets, lip balm, a book)

This sounds eerily similar to mine! What game did you get? Grin

TwinklyNight · 30/12/2024 02:42

He gave me a warm parka and a jumper(I had sent him the links for those), some hair combs, a mug that goes with my favorite tea cup, a lap blanket and a Christmas cd.

Tintackedsea · 30/12/2024 02:57

A book of poetry and one on bees
A lovely silver brooch
A pot of lumpfish caviar - I've never tried caviar and had recently commented that I'd like to
A bottle of limoncello

He helped the kids to get me a wee blowtorch which I think is specifically so I can make crème brûlée!

We do read, wear, eat, drink as "gift categories" for Christmas. We both have winter birthdays so it helps to have a structure!

WhatShudWeDoDrunkenSailor · 30/12/2024 03:03

I also got this screenshot. Of a ring he's paying for when my cancer treatment is over

The LED light mask I asked for, some Jo Malone goodies and my annual favourite dog breed calendar. Almost making up for the ugliest handbag in the world from his mother. Seriously, it's vile. And I've looked it up and it cost nearly £90.

Grumpyoldthing · 30/12/2024 04:18

The books in my Amazon basket, helpfully left there. A £100 Waterstones voucher.

I am very pleased with them, he is normally a shockingly thoughtless gift giver , and I have had plenty of disappointing Christmas and birthday- normally due to complete lack of planning . He is the most helpful and kind man in general , but gifts ……..

so I’m hopeful that the last 20 years of training are paying off ………

PeloMom · 30/12/2024 04:34

Mine also got me everything I wanted and then some

LouiseTopaz · 30/12/2024 04:43

We don't do presents on Christmas day anymore. If one of us wants something through the year we just buy it ourselves. We are both happier doing this.

ParsnipPuree · 30/12/2024 04:44

Wow.. as somebody who doesn't celebrate Christmas, from these posts it seems people spend more on it present-wise than partner's birthdays is that correct?

TwinklyNight · 30/12/2024 05:07

It varies. We don't give more at Christmas via birthdays, just what the person would enjoy and within whatever budget we have that year.

YankSplaining · 30/12/2024 05:09

I texted him the link to these earrings on Black Friday and got them at Christmas. I was happy, 😁

Can you sell the vile handbag? 😁

AutoP1lot · 30/12/2024 05:09

A record player
A dress
Boots
A book

I'm delighted.

Tarkan · 30/12/2024 05:10

My DH got me a box of nice bath bombs, a massage voucher, a bottle of La Vie Est Belle Intensement perfume and an away top for our local football team (he got me a personalised home top for my graduation earlier this year). We do new PJs every year too but more as a family thing than just from him (not matching ones though, DC are 21 and 16 and would be mortified if we did that).

We set a budget of £100 for each other but we both went quite a bit over it.

lorn195 · 30/12/2024 05:16

DH bought me for Christmas

Nike Air Force one trainers
2 books that I have been desperate to read.
M&S voucher 😊

I wasn't expecting the trainers at all but we had a good laugh as I had bought him some Adidas trainers (he had AF1 Nikes for his birthday).

Blankspace35 · 30/12/2024 05:27

Black opium perfume (my favourite), an under armour top for the gym and a new pair of ugg boots :)

We don't really do gifts for each other whilst the kids are little. But we are currently having a library wall built at home so we said that was our gift to one another 😊

We normally have trips away for birthdays

FlipFlopFlipper · 30/12/2024 06:40

2 week, all inclusive, 5* holiday in Greece 🥰❤️

Daisychainsandglitter · 30/12/2024 06:51

A bag from Oliver Bonas, lush shower gel and a new bra from bravissimo that I'd asked for. Very pleased.

MamaBobo · 30/12/2024 07:20

The 2023 Winter Edition Swiss Army Knife I’d been searching all year for, a Dale of Norway Scarf, my favourite chocolates and a book of recipes inspired by Agatha Christiea. He also got me a hard hat and some ear defenders for some work we’re doing at our new place. Loved the whole lot!

Sallyingon · 30/12/2024 07:22

He got me some boots that I asked for. He also got me a surprise box of chocolates from my favourite chocolate shop.

atesomanybananas · 30/12/2024 07:48

A pearl bracelet and a voucher for a champagne afternoon tea (for two, so I’ve already asked him if he’d like to come!)

PiastriThePastry · 30/12/2024 07:53

A pair of Ariat boots to replace my old ones that were falling apart, perfume, a really lovely mug (he knows I love a good mug 😂) and a Wrangler tote bag I’ve been eyeing up for AGES. Quite pleased really!
Oh and four massive bars of dairy milk as that’s been my pregnancy craving and a bit of an ongoing joke at this stage!
He also got my DS (3yo) to choose some separate presents this year, which was so lovely. Apparently he had some very strong opinions so DH had to narrow the options down first 😂
