Mine got me “what I asked for and more than the budget”… We don’t have a set budget that I’m aware of 😂 but if we did it would be more than that.

The good, the bad, the ugly. How did you do? I’d love to hear stories of spoilt mums 🙏🏻

His presence because he works abroad for most of the year … ( sounds cheesy but I don’t know anyone else who could cope with it… it’s very difficult )

He did get me some good stuff though .. gorgeous Pjs , my favourite perfume , candles etc

Same here and was really nice just to be together as the family. He also bought me miss Dior perfume with my name written at the back.

littleluncheon · 30/12/2024 00:01

We have wish lists so we know what to get each other!

He organised the kids getting me - a photo frame full of photos of them, a fleece blanket for the sofa and a candle making kit
He suggested his mother get me a jumper that I wanted
He gave me earrings, slippers, gloves, nail polishes and a bath caddy thing to rest my phone/wine on in the bath

Shallwesay2pm · 30/12/2024 00:02

Tickets to the gallagher premiership rugby final - very excited - hoping my team are in it but it'll be a great day out nevertheless.
C'mon the bears !!🐻

My husband always goes OTT at Christmas and he’s done very well this year, Charlotte Tilbury make up, l’occitane gift set, dressing gown, a leather document folder which I really wanted, ouai bath stuff, loads of little bits, were also away at the moment and in America so I’ve been on a few shopping sprees!

PaganOfTheYuleTimes · 30/12/2024 00:03

A fancy bottle of cider, 30 odd gel polishes (there was a sale on, apparently) an led face mask (aldi not shark but it's what I wanted! And some face creams to go with), a bubble bath i love. And a puppy.

OK so that last wasn't really a christmas present obviously but the first one we were waiting on fell through as we got puppy farm vibes, we then fell in love with a little girl who was ready to leave at christmas so 😍

A mug (chipped after he dropped it while wrapping it)
A blanket
A jigsaw puzzle

None of those things were on the list I gave him. None of what I asked for was expensive either. I asked for some sewing stuff, gardening bits, a new coat, a book on photography and a nice hamper.

His gifts were thoughtless and he grabbed the first things he saw on the shelf. While I understand some people might be happy with those things I'm not. I won't even use the mug as I don't drink hot drinks. I gave him some really thoughtful things (as I do every year) and he returned the favour by not giving a shit.

He has form for this but after a strong word did get better for a while but I'm kind of done with it all. I've already told him he won't be getting anything for his birthday or next Christmas. I'll be spending the money on myself!

jersey2021 · 30/12/2024 00:03

Oh, I also had the Harvey Nichols advent calendar as part of my present!

Katemax82 · 30/12/2024 00:04

A 100ml bottle of Chanel allure

Gliblet · 30/12/2024 00:05

A beautiful seashell pendant and necklace from a jewellery maker I love, and he helped DS12 pick out a little carved wooden mouse which is part of a set I've been collecting. And a set of Langmanni eyeshadows from the dog 😁

I'd put L'Occitane almond hand cream on my wishlist - he got me a lovely gift box with the handcream, some almond shower oil, a jar of almond milk extract moisturiser and a small bar of almond oil soap. He's really quite good at this stuff.

StScholastica · 30/12/2024 00:05

A tap (joke Gavin and Stacey gift)
A Lamy pen
An antique stoneware jar.
2pairs of jim jams.
Sketchbook

Crazybaby123 · 30/12/2024 00:07

A few token (not necessarily cheap) gifts for me and him as i had said we werent doing adult presents as kids had asked for very expensive items, but he wanted us to have something to unwrap from the kids to us, so it was very sweet of him to do that and now we have a few lovely things each which is actually quite nice considering.

What a lovely gift and so lovely just to be together as a family.
It’s really hard going isn’t it? How often is your DH away for?

Canonlythinkofthisone · 30/12/2024 00:11

A bracelet with mine and my daughters birth stones, a voucher for my hairdressers, a voucher for bravissimo (he knows better than to buy me underwear I haven't tried on 🤣) some pj's and slippers and some stocking bits.
Very happy this year 🥰

Christmasisthebest · 30/12/2024 00:13

A Valentino bag I had my eye on, Viktor and Rolf perfume, a necklace and various other smellies and treats. He did well from me too don't worry!

VivienneDelacroix · 30/12/2024 00:15

This is very outting due to the weird combination but mine got me a skateboard and some Tiffany earrings! Also a book that I saw when we were in France this summer, and a piano music book.

Wtafdidido · 30/12/2024 00:18

iPhone 16
sho water bottle
book
cuddly toy
Lancôme perfume
hair tongs
bits n pieces

5foot5 · 30/12/2024 00:19

Mine excelled himself!

He got me the couple of things I had requested - walking poles and a novel I fancied. Also several smaller but carefully chosen gifts - craft kits, book, particular drink only I like.

But the BIG surprise was a mahoosive Lego set. Notre Dame! It is amazing, I am in Lego heaven. Couldn't believe my eyes when I opened it.

knackeredknCkered · 30/12/2024 00:19

So my husband didn’t get me birthday presents

Favourite chocolate bars from Montezuma
Pink Supergas I've been lusting after for ages

I can't remember if there was anything else.

The Murdle book which I've been after for ages and a litre of Raspberry Vodka - my absolute favourite!

Hope you haven’t finished the vodka yet 😂

Newmum738 · 30/12/2024 00:26

We were in a tight budget this year but he got me a book from my wish list, a vinyl album of a new artist and tickets to see her live. He also got slipper socks for me from
DS. He always loves to tell me he hasn't got me much and he smashes it every year 😂
