Caught ringworm from someone’s cat, should I post to Facebook

I’m not sure what I want from this.
There are cats that come and shit in my garden every morning before I can catch them. I sometimes see them in the evening and shoo them away.
I know it isn’t the time of year for gardening but a few weeks ago I moved some shrubs around as they looked better in another place and I was mindful to not touch any cat shit or go near it.
I have now developed ring worm and it’s spread everywhere. I am covered in it, it’s itchy and painful.
I was advised that it’s contracted by animals, I don’t share towels or anything like that and it’s the only way I could’ve caught it.
I’ve finally got cream for it just today but I have a weak immune system and skin conditions already so I don’t what luck I’ll have

I hate cats!!!

If you're hating cats for getting a fungal infection, imma hate athletes... Bastards.. spreading their feet all over the place.

I like to keep my fungal infections off social media personally.

I have plenty of ‘friends’ who post about fungal and anything going. The op would not be alone.

Good because if you were to stroke any, you'd end up giving them ringworm.

catphone · 24/12/2024 22:40

I’m not sure I should post it to Facebook if I did it would be anonymous. I’m sick and tired of cats shitting in my garden everyday. And now I’ve got an infection. I’ve had it for weeks but it’s already gone everywhere. I’ve never had it before so I didn’t know what it was but I assumed it was eczema as I’ve got it severely. Now I need to have a bath everyday as no shower and change my bedsheets everyday for a month until it’s gone. As if I don’t have enough to do. There’s no other way I could’ve caught it. I don’t go to swimming pools. I fucking hate cats

Stop drinking the sherry @catphone 😆

Ecstaticmotion · 24/12/2024 22:42

So you were careful not to touch the cat poo but you think you caught ringworm from the cat poo...also, do you not wear gloves while gardening? I'd recommend doing that. Cats don't abide by human-made constructs like private property so you need to work around them not spend your life angry with them.

SabreIsMyFave · 24/12/2024 22:42

Why would you catch anything from the neighbourhood cats shit @catphone ??? Seriously! Do you walk around your garden picking up their shit with your bare hands? 😂

Hskatkat · 24/12/2024 22:43

It's a shame you didn't realise sooner, you could have included it in your round up of the year in your Christmas cards.... 😽💩

I dont think cats go on facebook

Dead

AppleKatie · 24/12/2024 22:44

You’ve had it for weeks? And done nothing about it?

and this is the fault of the neighbourhood cats who you never touch?

speaking as someone who lives with a cat and has a neighbours cat extremely fond of pooing in my flower garden…. I haven’t had ringworm since the 90s so 😂

Wolframandhart · 24/12/2024 22:44

what do you expect to come from this?

AnneShirleysNewDress · 24/12/2024 22:44

Somewhere a cat has started a thread about a human who accused it of spreading ringworm.

HoundsOfHelfire · 24/12/2024 22:45

Why are you blaming the cats? You can get ring worm from contaminated people or contaminated things - so door knobs, supermarket trolley's

camerasupply · 24/12/2024 22:45

You can't get ringworm from cat poo

NunyaBeeswax · 24/12/2024 22:46

There’s no other way I could’ve caught it.

Touching someone who has it, who may not know, it could be in their groin or on their scalp.
(Someone you know might have scratched their flaky skin, shook your hand and now you got it.. no cats involved..)

Calm your tits, blaming your fungus on cats is catphobic.

catphone · 24/12/2024 22:46

ringworm comes from animals and then it spreads to other things. I’ve never had it before. I don’t share towels with anyone, no one else has it. I’m the only one who goes and picks up the shit and no I don’t do it with my bare hands? If I’ve spent hours moving around shrubs and plants.
i know there’s nothing I can do but I still want to complain about the fact I need to spend a month disinfecting everything, bathing and so much laundry because someone didn’t vaccinate their cat.
I get my weekly shopping delivered.
I only really speak to my neighbours or family.
i haven’t gone out and touched anything with my bare hands either.

You sound to have a rather lonely life
have you ever considered a cat?

You think cats are vaccinated against ringworm?

Ummm... there isn't a vaccine for ringworm in cats. That'll be why they haven't done it.

Wolfiefan · 24/12/2024 22:49

You can’t vaccinate against ringworm. You didn’t catch that from cat shit you didn’t touch. You’re sounding batshit though.

Proteinbananas · 24/12/2024 22:49

You also can't catch ringworm from cat shit, only from skin to skin contact which obviously hasn't happened if you hate cats

Retrogamer · 24/12/2024 22:50

Do you think we need another lockdown..
I best put on 3 masks to be safe.

Jifmicroliquid · 24/12/2024 22:51

Ringworm is a fungal infection you fool. You won’t catch it from cat shit. You have to come into contact with the fungus. It does not live in shit.

Educate yourself and stop spouting rubbish.

Almost definitely why they poop in your garden. Try loving cats instead. They never come in my garden.
