Why would you not be able to?

WillowTit · 22/12/2024 08:35

i never considered otherwise
its the tyres, not the weight surely

Imperrysmum · 22/12/2024 08:36

I would imagine yes, ive racked my brains and cant think of a reason why not

DappledThings · 22/12/2024 08:36

Why on earth wouldn't you be able to?

ForeverinBJ · 22/12/2024 08:36

Eh? Why would you think you couldn't?

hopelessholly1 · 22/12/2024 08:37

of cause! What do you think could happen?

Kylie83 · 22/12/2024 08:38

This exact type of question was asked not so long ago, except op wanting to know if they could change a tyre with baby in a car seat. 🤔🤔

BIossomtoes · 22/12/2024 08:38

Seriously? Of course you can.

Tooes · 22/12/2024 08:38

No, the toddler needs to be in the boot, dead centre and holding still.

shoulde · 22/12/2024 08:38

The weight of the toddler wouldn't be enough to change the pressure of the tyre in that corner OP. Don't worry

category12 · 22/12/2024 08:38

Eh?

xyz111 · 22/12/2024 08:40

I worry about the mental state of people having kids if god forbid an emergency were to actually happen.

Yes! I wouldn't do it with half a dozen hefty rugby players in but a toddler's bulk will be insignificant. Where would you out the toddler while you put air in?

MagpiePi · 22/12/2024 08:42

Why do you ask???

Comtesse · 22/12/2024 08:42

U ok hun?

neverknowinglyunreasonable · 22/12/2024 08:42

No. It's very dangerous. There have been cases in the past where people have got distracted and put air into the toddler instead.

minisoksmakehardwork · 22/12/2024 08:43

If this is a genuine worry for you, check whether you already have a tyre inflater in the boot of your car - it may be under the boot mat. If not, buy one. Then you can inflate tyres at home while baby is not in the car.

comedycentral · 22/12/2024 08:44

Are you concerned about a tyre accidentally blowing during inflation? It's a very low risk, and if it did happen, the damage is unlikely to be significant enough to harm the toddler in the car seat. In a busy garage with cars and other things around, their car seat is probably the safest place for them while you are occupied.

Joelle84 · 22/12/2024 08:44

yes be careful if you over inflate, the car might float away with toddler in

TickingAlongNicely · 22/12/2024 08:45

Think about it logically. A car weighs about 1200kg. A toddler plus seat will weigh about 12kg.

That's about 1% of the weight of the car. It will have minimal affect on the tyres.

MrsMoastyToasty · 22/12/2024 08:47

No, the toddler should be learning how to inflate the tyres.

RosesAndHellebores · 22/12/2024 08:48

Goodness, no! It's preferable to put it in using the air pump.

yes of course you can

@comedycentral yes exactly. I was going to suggest one of us did it if better for dd not to be in car
