All the business with Lily Philips - how many men queued up to do what they did to her

And Gisele Pelicot

Are men really that obsessed with sex that they are so desperate to rape and queue up and be solely concerned with their own depraved satisfaction.

I know it's not all men but I'm feeling so disillusioned with men in general and it seems to be getting worse and not better.

Does anyone else feel like this? Also the only people I see posting about Gisele are female.

Where are all the men??

I'm raising boys and to be honest it's terrifying to look at my innocent children and the world they are growing up in.

I am disgusted by young sportsmen who go back to their rooms and all "have a go" with a woman.

I am disgusted by men who line up to be one in a hundred with a woman.

I am disgusted by men who have sex with an unconscious or otherwise incapacitated woman under any circumstances.

I am disgusted by men who watch these situations play out, whether in the room or recorded, whether real or simulated.

All of those acts disgust me. The men disgust me. I don't care what their motivation is quite frankly, criminal, sexual, kink, pornsick.

If I found out that a man I knew was doing any of these things then I would think him shameful and it would permanently affect how I perceived him. I would take steps to avoid associating with him. It's shameful and they should be shamed and feel ashamed.

Unfortunately the majority of them watch porn though, even the "very nice men". So they're quite happy to exploit women for their own pleasure.

According to Yougov 53% on women watch porn. The majority of women are fucking awful too.

How often do Britons watch porn? | YouGov

Young people and men watch porn more frequently than women and older Britons, with young men particularly likely to be regular consumers

What happened to Gisele is very disturbing. It's shocking that so many seemingly ordinary men were willing to join in given the opportunity. Any one of us could have been her. Lily is a completely different situation. There will always be men desperate for sex and women desperate for fame and money- it's transactional and distateful but not particularly surprising.

//

Maybe but it says a LOT about the attitudes those disgusting men have towards women.

So the thin end of a wedge.

It's fucking depressing

The men didn’t do anything to Lily Phillips, they accepted an invitation to indulge in a highly pleasurable and consensual activity with a willing participant.

Great apologist for the menz.

No decent humane man would entertain travelling, including flying from other countries for such an act of violation, knowing what was on offer. it doesn't matter if it was an opportunity handed to them on a silver plate, they had to be absolutely depraved to go along with it.

She is mentally ill to do such an act of self-harm, no matter how much she, and others, sanitise and normalise it.

NormanBateslonglosttwin · 20/12/2024 15:56

There are women who are slags just as there are men who are slags.
That is the truth of the matter.
Gisele, it was awful and beyond words,
Lily ? No sympathy, no empathy and no comment. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Sexual intercourse and orgasms are, by design, highly pleasurable. I don’t understand why that statement is controversial.

But in order to get to those highly pleasurable things, human beings have to become sexually aroused. What you appear to be missing that other people are expressing shock and disgust at, is that 101 men were sexually aroused by standing in line with a hundred others, to take their turn, one after the other to have sex the same woman. After multiple other men had done so, minutes earlier.

Now, you'd have to be of pretty low intelligence not to suspect that would eventually start to hurt the woman. Yet 101 men lack the basic decency to say, well, that's up to her, but I'm not going to facilitate her harming herself. And even if they lacked that level of care for another person, you'd still hope they'd have had some self respect and standards. But no. 101 men took part in a degrading and unpleasant performance and were sexually aroused by it. That's pretty shocking imo. The occasional conscienceless weirdo, we know they exist. But 101...?

Don't have a link but highly recommended people watch the podcast where Candace Owens interviewed her.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 20/12/2024 15:59

There was a thread on MN last year when after yet another awful news worthy example of men hurting women (I can't remember what they all blend into one awful blur), OP asked something along the lines of who has experienced rape or sexual assault. There were pages of us. Pages.

Yes NAMALT but too fucking many are. And society doesn't give a shit.

Ladamesansmerci · 20/12/2024 16:00

I agree. I find men fucking terrifying. I genuinely think the vast majority of men would rape a woman if they knew for sure they could get away with it. I also genuinely think the vast majority of men would be in dodgy relationships with 18 year old girls if they'd have them and it was socially acceptable. Gross.

It's not all men, but it's enough that it makes all men the source of my suspicion.

Yes 👏

I don’t want to hear “not all men”. I don’t want to hear “women watch porn too”. You’d never see dozens of women lining up in a corridor for the chance of three minutes with a male porn star.

I continue to be shocked by the way oh-so-many men view women as little more than a warm body to stick their penis into.

It says 53% of women have ever watched porn. I did in my youth and naivety and I didn’t like it then. I absolutely wouldn’t now I understand properly about the exploitation and damage it does, to women in the industry and women as a collective.

What you should have paid attention to is the fact that just 4% of women say they watch porn at least once a week compared to 36% of men.

But you did know that, seeing as you posted the link.

Balancedcitizen101 · 20/12/2024 16:01

There's always bad stories out there; perverts or much worse. If you (and partner) do what you can to guide good behaviours / morals in your children then that is your positive contribution to the world. By morals I don't mean 'no sex outside of marriage'. I mean not being a pervert, or worse.

Yes it's fucking depressing but at the end of the day we are animals. Yes, we've evolved very large complex brains that in some instances can override, but we are basically complicated apes and access to reproductive success is a basic drive.

If you wanted, you could look at it the other way that a lot of men, despite opportunities, would not behave like animals.

You're both wrong. You both know that though, ey?

saltysandysea · 20/12/2024 16:03

Standard men will stoop to include date rape - Gisele was a ready made version of that. Drugs, alcohol it was not consensual and many men don’t seem bothered by this.

This woman was repeatedly raped unconscious on a park bench & subsequently died.

I agree the Lily Phillips story is vomit inducing, but it cannot be used in the same regard as Gisele Pelicot to convey disgust.

What Gisele went through, she will never recover from.

Lily Philips made a disturbingly disgusting choice (probably for infamy) and the repulsive men who lined up complied with a willing participant. I’m not saying they’re not deviants, because they are. But it’s not the same and there is no comparison to be made

Exactly. Unfortunately, we’re putting too much faith in many men’s ability to moderate this exceptionally powerful drive.

according to the woman from rape support group yesterday. If a woman reports a rape in England today. It won’t get to court until 2027

we aren’t that much better

Unfortunately some of them will not make it to trial until 4 years after the event. Rape in late December 2024 could mean and early 2029 trial. I am aware of at least 1 rape case which will be at 4 years when it gets to trial.

YANBU OP although the Lily Case is slightly different IMO.

Only the this morning I was thinking about Cologne in 2016 (?) with the mass sexual assaults on women over New Year and the horrific attack on the CBS reporter Lara Logan, I believe, who was sexually assaulted for over an hour by hundreds of men in Tahrir Square in Cairo when she became separated from her film crew. her account of this attack is something I can never forget.

Then there's the recent cases to name but a few;

Puffy daddy accused of sex trafficking I believe?

The Olympian Rebecca Cheptegei allegedly killed by her partner after he doused her in petrol and set her on fire. It's not as though this was unique Olympian murder, Agnes Tirop was fatally stabbed by her husband in 2021 and Demaris Mutua (a runner) also killed within six months of Agnes.

Kristina Joksimovic from Switzerland where the press crudely wrote about her being strangled and her body being pureed in a blender.

Moumita Bebnath, the trainee doctor brutally raped and murdered in Kolkata in August.

Steven Van de Velde competing in the Olympics for Netherlands after he was convict of rape I believe.

Men (Taliban) banning from speaking or showing their faces outside the house.

.......etc
