A large hotel local-ish to us (around 10 miles away) is currently closed for bookings as it is being occupied by just under 400 asylum seekers.

Recently, in our village and a couple of neighbouring ones, there has been a spate of parcels being stolen from doorsteps. I’m sure you can all work out who has taken the blame for this….! Even though one of the perpetrators is known to be a local lad, born and bred in our village, some people are still blaming others..

The comments on Facebook community groups are disgusting.

Since when has it been acceptable to so readily stick the blame upon those literally fleeing their countries?

I honestly feel that as a human race, we are devolving.

But I would hazard a guess that almost all sexual predators and rapists are men, so bringing literally hundreds of thousands if not millions of extra men into Europe would vastly increase the risk to women and girls? Or are you saying the stats in Germany are wrong?

Germany has the most refugees and asylum seekers in Europe. I think we're fifth and have nowhere near the same amount.

We haven't experienced a crime wave of gang rape and sexual assaults. I believe UK prison stats are British people, then Albanian. The Albanians are usually part of criminal gangs.

We have an agreement with Albania and immediately deport them but as far as I know, they no longer come over on the boats.

Do we have any stats on Ukrainians and HK Chinese?

There's a reason there are background checks in place for teachers, if not there would be a lot more danger to children in their care, exactly the same reason I don't agree with all these unchecked possible criminals flooding across Europe. These are the checks and measures put in place for safeguarding which aren't being used to vet people coming to the UK

According to crime statistics the highest crime rates are among Tunisian, Georgian and Maroccans.
Also despite the wave of immigration Germany has a lower criminal index and a better healthcare system. So they're doing something right.

Even more weirdly, you get extra if pregnant & you'll get a £300 grant.

All accommodation paid for, that maybe in a hostel or a hotel.

£50 per week for each adult if food not provided, £8 if food is, children will get free education and meals.

Its not bad is it? and one has to remember, once here, your chances of ever being sent back are tiny, eventually, you'll get a decision, if its a NO, you can disappear into the "black economy" and work, if YES you can work, apply for housing UC etc etc.
