To say 'fuck it, it's christmas' and open the celebrations

Craving some sugar.

It's the last week of school and I can't be bothered to enforce the 'no tablet on school days' rule, so dd is watching 'simon the rabbit' at full volume on the iPad whilst munching on a family size bag of crisps, 30 mins before dinner time

I've well and truly given up, but this would be the last straw

Wibu?

Sounds acceptable to me.

loropianalover · 16/12/2024 16:52

Why would it be unreasonable to open a tin of chocolates the week before Christmas (or at any time)?

Martymcfly24 · 16/12/2024 16:52

No judgement here.

ChocolatePodge · 16/12/2024 16:52

One hundred percent reasonable!

Deadringer · 16/12/2024 16:53

Way ahead of you op

CalicoPusscat · 16/12/2024 16:53

If you fancy it!

toucheee · 16/12/2024 16:53

I fear any response other than 'go for it' will be roundly ridiculed. But no, if I opened the Celebs the whole tin would get eaten. Save it for Christmas Day!

TTPDTS · 16/12/2024 16:54

We're on about our fourth box!! If anything I'd encourage you to open them up and catch up!

Searchingforthelight · 16/12/2024 16:55

Go for it! The rules are out this week!

Id be doing this myself but my appetite is truly mounjaroed right now

MumOfOneAllAlone · 16/12/2024 16:58

Sounds like a resounding 'do it'!!!

I've reasoned that since I can't eat nuts, that rules out a good third of the chocolate, so it isn't really so bad

It's a bizarre nonsensical logic but I'm going with it 🤭🤭

Does your appetite really go? I'm on a serious diet too but I've allowed myself a little leeway for Christmas

I put a tub of them in our sweet jar last week but I cannot remember seeing any Malteasers. It might be that my DS got there first ...

Yes it kills off appetite entirely for me!
Need to be clinically obese to be prescribed it, which I sadly was ( though not anymore)

🤭 quite possibly. They're my faves as well, although my dd just loves chocolate and is having a lovely time

Congratulations on the weight loss 😊. I've heard some good things by people who have gone private so I'll be looking into it in the new year

Thank you, OP. I am taking all the positive replies to you as permission for me to start the Terry’s Chocolate Orange which has been calling to me from its hiding place for sometime now. Merry Christmas x

You’re a woman after my own heart OP!!

WhatIDoIsEnough · 16/12/2024 17:17

We're on our probably 6th tub since early November. As soon as they're in the shops we have the sweet dish out and filled.
Adult dc friends come in , take a few and leave.
Not in a CF way. They just feel comfortable and know what's out is for the taking

Is that all that was in it? Confused
I remember the giant tins that would keep a family going for a week.
I’d scoff one of those sad little tubs by myself in one sitting.

Shopgirl2 · 16/12/2024 17:20

I wait as long as possible, Christmas eve, so to avoid Christmas-creep, eating indulgently over an increasingly longer period of time, year on year at Christmas.

😄😄🤭 I'm feeling good and Christmassy now - bedtime will be fun but, fuck it, it's Christmas!

I did throw out the nutty ones, so snickers and bounty etc

After that, that was all that was left! Me and dd might well get through this tin tbh 😄

It's an actual miracle for anyone who has struggled with obesity over time. I was able to lose weight in the past after each baby, but it crept on with the years and I couldn't seem to lose any significant amount.
Mounjaro is the holy grail!

User37482 · 16/12/2024 17:25

I think DH has already got through a party bag of celebrations. Dd and I have been eating shortbread to keep our energy up for a movie marathon. Seems reasonable to me.
