Craving some sugar.

It's the last week of school and I can't be bothered to enforce the 'no tablet on school days' rule, so dd is watching 'simon the rabbit' at full volume on the iPad whilst munching on a family size bag of crisps, 30 mins before dinner time

I've well and truly given up, but this would be the last straw

Go for it. I'm working my way through a Terry chocolate orange.

Beanie567 · 16/12/2024 17:26

Yabu. Christmas is Quality Street. Go out right now and get some. Open, devour and replace as necessary.

😄 I was just thinking, I'm not enjoying this like I'd enjoy a tub of quality street!

I will make sure I've got them in for tomorrow's inevitable chocolate craving!

It's an actual miracle for anyone who has struggled with obesity over time. I was able to lose weight in the past after each baby, but it crept on with the years and I couldn't seem to lose any significant amount.
Mounjaro is the holy grail!

🙌🙌 agreed, after Christmas I'll start on it

Dd's autism means I struggled when trying to get her a school place, as she needed support - the stress meant I gained so much!

A chocolate orange is on the shopping list 🤭

Definitely wouldn't judge you but, if it were me, I'd really try and hold off. It isn't Christmas yet and I put on weight really easily and am a real 'all or nothing' eater so I try and keep the 'fuck it, it's Christmas, eat everything in sight' mentality to just Christmas Eve, Day and Boxing Day, otherwise I really, really regret it in January.

Hope this is of some help then, as yes, if you've struggled and BMI is over 30, this is the answer.

As for cost, I now spend so little on food/drinks that it's entirely offset the cost of the meds

MaryGreenhill · 16/12/2024 17:42

Go for it OP. l bought a tub today from Tesco l think l will join you 😋🤤

SaltAndVinegarRiceCake · 16/12/2024 17:44

Same. I had peace perfect peace after school today and Minecraft minded my children while I had a cup of tea, celebrations and pringles!

MsXmasGGMasterTwat · 16/12/2024 17:44

I couldn’t decide between a mince pie or a piece of stollen earlier … I had both.

Open them.

EatTheBastard · 16/12/2024 17:47

Don’t forget the mulled cider OP! Delish <hiccup>

Latenightreader · 16/12/2024 17:49

I bought my Mum a box of Lindor chocolates for Christmas. I have had to replace it twice because I've been forced to do a quality control check...

tulipsunday · 16/12/2024 17:51

Enjoy OP I opened a bag of gingerbread hearts today - my first properly festive food item 😊

DelilahBucket · 16/12/2024 17:52

Me and DS already polished off the Turkey Feast dip just now. Not had dinner yet, will contemplate that in an hour or so! All Christmas foods are fair game now!

MumOfOneAllAlone · 16/12/2024 16:58

Sounds like a resounding 'do it'!!!

I've reasoned that since I can't eat nuts, that rules out a good third of the chocolate, so it isn't really so bad

It's a bizarre nonsensical logic but I'm going with it 🤭🤭

I like your style, OP Smile

Oh why not ☺️ I cracked open the baileys last Thursday whilst I was wrapping prezzie’s, it’s a must in my house

Dweetfidilove · 16/12/2024 18:04

If it's okay for you, it must be for me too, so off to get some Ferrero🚶🏾‍♀️. If I get it any earlier, my daughter just disappears them 😊.

Patienceinshortsupply · 16/12/2024 18:04

We had to open the Panetonne we were given by a rep at work, just to check it in case it was off.

I'm happy to report that it wasn't Grin and was rather heavenly toasted, dripping in butter with a cuppa.

AllTangledUpInTinselAndTiaras · 16/12/2024 18:05

It's been Christmas in our house since the very beginning of December! 🎄🎄🎄

mitogoshigg · 16/12/2024 18:05

I'm 1/2 way through a pack of stollen with a mug of gluwein in my hand and I'm the only one home ... definitely a week to do what you want!

Madcats · 16/12/2024 18:11

We ate a tub of Quality St at 1/2 term. It got the whole "shall we open it yet" dilemma out of the way.
