Craving some sugar.

It's the last week of school and I can't be bothered to enforce the 'no tablet on school days' rule, so dd is watching 'simon the rabbit' at full volume on the iPad whilst munching on a family size bag of crisps, 30 mins before dinner time

I've well and truly given up, but this would be the last straw

Wibu?

Was just going to deride everyone for being amateurs as I’ve opened the port but “chapeau” Spaceid. There are however two boxes of Bittermints and two boxes of Florentines singing their siren song every time I go in the kitchen.

I support the two of you here 😄

We opened the Quality Street yesterday - in celebration of the kids being home from uni. Let the Christmas holidays commence!

That is a reason to celebrate 🥰 Yes absolutely!

We have a wooden sleigh dh made and it just holds a full tin of Roses. For some reason I had to buy another tin today to top it up.

Close enough. I’m on my second Christmas cake already.

Mine were open last week! I've also eaten a Christmas pudding ...

It's too much to save it all for one day! Enjoy the chocolates <3

Yes! Thank you, we've gotten through the good ones, only some milky ways and mars left

Leftovers for dd which whe couldn't finish, I think she's happy

I remember backfilling with a second box of celebrations a few years ago. Someone commented on the strange lack of galaxy and abundance of bountys in that tub…

As an aside, I really miss the galaxy truffles in celebrations!

Way ahead of you op

Me too, and I had to laugh at the poll. 91% think the OP is not being unreasonable. Healthy lot, aren’t we?

Yanbu. I stop work on the 20th at 5pm. I'll break open the Christmas food at 5.30. 😊

BeyondMyWits · 16/12/2024 20:11

We had an extremely chocolatey, chocolate log from Waitrose over the past couple of nights. Was delicious.

I'm not usually a waitrose shopper tbh but I'm taking a drive there this year, as soon as they discount the potatoes and veg - I've heard only good things about the yule log 🥰

Oh me too, it's ridiculous - plus I suspect they put in less Maltesers every year

Now I'm craving Maltesers and Galaxy choc and have neither yet! you lot are terrible!😆

Stash of treats built up over last few weeks Few extra items added to regular shop Mince pies/crisps/sweets, fruit juices, unfortunately I have to keep replacing them as someone(?) keeps taking from the hidden stash. Just bought 4th box of mince pies and still have 8 days to go.

Tortielady · 16/12/2024 21:03

In theory, we have a box of Roses in the cupboard for me, a box of Heroes for DH (he's not keen on Roses) and a box of Lindor to go both ways. However, we also have between us various health problems and an indecent amount of cheese, which is both bad for our health (loads of fat) and very good for it (cheese is extremely low in sugar.) We both prefer cheese, so I think some of that chocolate will have to go to DH's office. It will allow us some damage limitation and carb-hungry volunteers will get a blood sugar boost. We'll hang onto the Lindor though 😋

JetskiSkyJumper · 16/12/2024 21:15

Celebrations? I opened a bag of mini eggs yesterday. You're all slacking still being on the Xmas choc 😅

BiddyPop · 16/12/2024 21:53

I bought my Christmas chocolate last week - but have only managed not to open them because I have been raiding my small stash of salt n vinegar crisps (they aren't sold here so visitors brought them and I don't expect anymore for quite a while...). So I applaud the opening of festive treats!

Notaflippinclue · 16/12/2024 22:38

Our first tin has gone had to buy 2 more - and there is only me and my old man

Notaflippinclue · 16/12/2024 22:39

But definitely has to be Cadbury

SuperfluousHen · 16/12/2024 22:42

Sounds perfectly reasonable behaviour on 16th December. Have at it! 😃

Where on earth do you live that doesn’t sell salt ‘n’ vinegar crisps ffs? 😮
