DH pisses around toilet

PissoirPissedOff · 28/11/2024 21:20

We moved into our new home and the first thing I did was to clean the bathroom, including disinfecting the toilet area which was covered in mouldy spots. Within about an hour, DH had pissed all over the rim of the toilet and the floor just under the toilet had a small puddle of piss. I have asked him not to do this, just to wipe it dry when he misses the bowl. He says this is not his job.

I'm not particularly OCD about this sort of thing, I just like a clean bathroom and would prefer to clean it just once a week rather than daily/hourly.

I AM being unreasonable = This is beyond the scope of what is expected of a normal male in his own home.

I am NOT being unreasonable = Why can't he just make that small effort (quick wipe with tissues) so that I don't have to clean the toilet every day, and to save me getting my toes wet in a puddle of his piss?

If you have more than 1 toilet, he can use one only and he cleans it (or not). Do go near it, don’t clean it, shut the door and leave him to it.

If you only have one toilet, get him a bucket and a plastic drop cloth, and let him deal with it.

What do your guests do? Is he ok with them having to stand in/sit in piss? If he expects you to clean it for guests, etc - then stop enabling him. Don’t clean up his piss, he is clearly telling you what he thinks of you…

Kibble29 · 28/11/2024 23:10

Exactly.

It’s clear he’s a moron. But the meek “he doesn’t know how to live inside a house” stuff is actually worse. Spineless.

Sorry about that 😆

I am a bit meek, to be fair.

Tell him every time you find his piss on and around the toilet you'll be taking a photo and posting to his social media explaining yet again you've been left to clean his piss up because he's a lazy bastard who can't even aim efficiently.

Let his friends/family/work colleagues know what a troll he is in the bathroom-I bet it'll probably help his colleagues identify the dirty twat who keeps leaving piss in the work loo's.

I honestly wouldn't if he was generally an arsehole. This is a strange aberration so I'm questioning my judgement.

It's not an aberration,

He's a dirty bugger and he's humiliating you

I'd be using his favourite shirt to clean it just before I walked out the door

We used to live somewhere that he pissed off the balcony into a forest. Quite honestly, I've just realised, I think he's adapting to living indoors! I'll show him this thread in the morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

Not sure I'm believing this now...

What does he do at other people's houses? At work?

OP. You've managed to land yourself a husband who isn't fucking housetrained.

I'm actually laughing out loud at this because I have a horrible feeling you have a point!!!!!!!

I am a bit meek, to be fair.

It’s your life, if you want to spend it cleaning a grown man’s body fluids then crack on.

I bet your meekness is exactly what he likes about you. Don’t give you any respect and you just obey.

Dillydollydingdong · 28/11/2024 23:17

Tell him to sit on the toilet and point Willy down, rather than standing up. Lots of men do!

It’s rather bleak that you find this so funny. It’s fucking rank. And his ‘it’s not my job to clean up my own piss, it’s yours, woman,’ is disturbing.

thequeenoftarts · 28/11/2024 23:22

Could you not piss on his side of the bed a few times and tell him its on his side, its up to him to clean it up?

FiveShelties · 28/11/2024 23:22

Just hoping this is a (yet another) wind up and no-one seriously puts up with this kind of behaviour.

PyongyangKipperbang · 28/11/2024 23:22

"If you want to live inside this house, with me, then cleaning up your own piss IS YOUR JOB. If you dont do your job then I wont do one of mine which is change the sheets when I piss on your pillows"

Kibble29 · 28/11/2024 23:22

She’s not even bothered about it.

BettyBardMacDonald · 28/11/2024 23:24

That you are laughing about it is beyond sad.

No matter how much of a lowlife a man is, there apparently always is a woman who will accept it.

Dotto · 28/11/2024 23:26

Pathetic

I know! I just get a bit hysterical sometimes at aspects of my own life. And yet I think I get some things really right. This just isn't one of them...!

Clean it up with his towel and toothbrush, see how he likes that

GoldenLegend · 28/11/2024 23:28

Good grief. My cat is cleaner than your husband.

valentinka31 · 28/11/2024 23:31

I would leave him. Tonight.

tachetastic · 28/11/2024 23:35

Speaking as a man, this is insane.

In all honesty, men do sometimes miss. If you are standing up you are not always 100% sure of the angle stuff is going to come out and it can take a second to re-aim, by which point some damage is done.

But trust me that every time this has happened in my house I have been wiping up my own mess before anyone else comes in.

This is why carpet in a bathroom is never a good thing. Just saying. 😬😬😬

TunipTheVegimal24 · 28/11/2024 23:35

Do you not remember replying to the ad for a "Piss Maid"?

Kokomjolk · 28/11/2024 23:36

God, have some self respect.

TyneTeas · 28/11/2024 23:40

He needs to understand that this is not optional or negotiable. There is no middle ground.

Would he prefer to sit down to pee, or would one of those targets you put in loos for little boys to aim at help...

Well that answers it. So, whilst pissing as a presumably grown adult from balcony he now has, having come back from the wild, to a residential setting, can't control himself to not piss the floor. Ok I won't comment on any of that..

But still your job to clear up his piss (no?).

I hope this is a wind up, but just in case it isn't, be quite clear and and strong in yourself. Don't ever clear up someone's piss just because it's "your job" and " what men do".

meercat23 · 28/11/2024 23:45

Mine misses sometimes especially if he has to get up at night. But he cleans up after himself and on the very rare occasion when he doesn't notice he is mortified and apologetic and then cleans it himself.
