DH wouldn't dance to our special song

Last night, at a bday party, our special song comes on. We are standing in a group, I look at DH with my most alluring face, say "our special song, let's dance", but he didn't respond. It was humiliating.

Has anyone else ever experienced such rejection and what do you think should do now?

If it was your anniversary party it would be out of order. Although I'd be put out, you have to realise the context if a conversation at a party was going on, he was literally busy enjoying the party. He's probably not even aware it upset you.

Who decided it’s your ‘special song’? Not everyone wants or feels like they have a specific special song. Is it genuinely as ‘special’ to him as it is to you? Also, does he like dancing in public? If he hates dancing in public than the song that’s playing probably isn’t going to matter, he’s not going to want to dance.
