Nikita had such terrible bruising, a paramedic hasn't seen such extensive bruising, she had to have a tampon removed from her cervix, she's had her house/car attacked, mum threatened, intruders broke into her home and tried to stab her bf/ threatening her and her bf he tried to pay her off in 2019 for a million, she said no I want justice.

Conor McGregor wearing a blue shirt, white shirt and black tie. He has light brown short hair and a beard

Woman wins civil rape case against Conor McGregor

A civil action was taken by Nikita Hand who had accused McGregor of raping her in a Dublin hotel in 2018.

Stupid girlfriend draped over him at court. Wake up love!

Yeah, cos there's no chance she's actually shit scared of him and does whatever he makes her do.

He really is fairly famous, I agree.

But aged MMA fighters probably isn’t of interest for the average mumsnet user…

Anyhow, rape is not necessarily about a lack of (willing) candidates. It’s also about power, control, entitlement and sadism.

I would not be surprised if he felt entitled and untouchable…

If I believed in such things I would say that men like this deserve a special hell of their own and right next door to it another hell for the stupid women who collude and excuse them

I don't believe either but its nice to think that such a thing does exist so that at some point creatures like him actually feel some pain (and not just to their pocket).

Nikita is a very, very brave lady and I hope she has many good things waiting in her future. God knows she deserves them.

greengreyblue · 22/11/2024 19:38

Never heard of him. I don’t follow mma.

leia24 · 22/11/2024 19:39

Nikita Hand is amazing and I am so so happy that this has validated her and that she was heard by the jury. I really hope that this can be the beginning of her being able to start to heal and rebuild.
It might not be criminal justice but she told her story and they heard her and believed her - because she was telling the truth.

The poster who said about women throw themselves at him- you need to go and learn about sexual violence. Men in active sexual relationships go out and rape others or abuse children.

MillyMichaelson · 22/11/2024 19:36

Well if this isn’t a wake up call I don’t know what is!

The rape was so violent she had to have her tampon surgically removed from her cervix. Just leaving that here in case it makes any difference to your opinion of the man.

The court case was through the Irish courts. The DPP did not pursue a criminal conviction and shame on them, The victim pursued her claim through a civil action.

The thing is we wouldn't know if they had tried and failed to convict, as those accused of rape have anonymity unless found guilty.

There's been rumours about his terrible behaviour for years though, I wasn't surprised at this case at all.

Wth? What is the point of the trial then?! Terrible 😢

To get some sort of justice, to make it public. That vile little scumbag gets away with so much it's about time something stuck. He should have been arrested to start with but no doubt he's paid his way out if that

EternalSunshine19 · 22/11/2024 19:43

maydaymayday1 · 22/11/2024 19:02

Bad taste.

Rape is for power nothing to do with women throwing themselves at him.

Well said @maydaymayday1

It was a civil case in Ireland. Not a criminal one.

It was investigated and there wasn't enough evidence. There is speculation that the CCTV of her behaviour at the lifts the next morning saying she doesn't look like someone who has been raped, that she is draped over and kissing McGregor friend and that she went back to the room with him while McGregor left with her friend. Also that her friend said she didn't see her or hear or think she'd been raped, so there basically wasn't any real hard evidence for a criminal case.

That’s not true, we do know the DPP did not pursue a criminal conviction.

The High Court heard that the DPP told Nikita Hand in 2020 that it would not prosecute a criminal case against McGregor or his co-accused James Lawrence. Hand had made a statement to gardaí on 5 January 2019, which was followed by a garda investation.
The DPP told Hand there was not sufficient evidence to prosecute.
In a letter to Hand in August 2020, the DPP said there was a very high standard of proof required in criminal cases and if the available evidence was not strong enough, there can be no prosecution.

dogwal · 22/11/2024 19:46

Him and his posse are the dregs of Drimnagh. He is a violent thug and up to this he has been able to buy his way out of trouble along with using his posse to scare off anyone he feels have wronged him.

Good on Nikita for taking it all the way and refusing a reported million euros to drop the case. It took a lot of guts to go all the way. Hopefully she and her family will be safe.

Shame on the DPP for not taking it to trial.

The only thing I’m surprised about is that he hasn’t killed a woman yet. The desire to do so radiates from him.

Perhaps it’s just he hasn’t been caught.

I read a post somewhere about when a woman was giving him verbal abuse, he hurt her so badly that to leave the building coats were used to cover her, his security guards took her to hospital and mcrapist paid to keep her silent. Paid her medical costs, he smashed her jaw

This isn't true about anonymity... and it's widely known that the DPP didn't progress the complaint due to insufficient evidence

Unbelievably brave woman to go through everything to seek some semblance of justice. He's a piece of shit. I hope he never works again.

Fat chance look at Mike Tyson.

Eh?

The previous poster said he was Cretan - meaning he is from Crete. I correctly pointed out that he's Irish.

I love the Irish! But not this one, obvs.

Apologies, I didn't realise that. My understanding was that under Irish law if you were accused of rape, you couldn't be named unless found guilty.

Autumnlovelove · 22/11/2024 20:01

@greengreyblue do you really think she has any chance of getting out of that relationship unscathed? She is probably terrified of him. He is a violent controlling rapist who openly cheats on her. She has a child with him. Someone like him would never let her leave let alone take his child. She is trapped.
