Why would he get a custodial sentence? This was a civil case. The woman essentially just sued him. He was not on a criminal trial. He was not being prosecuted.
You can’t sue someone to have them sent to prison. You get money. That’s it.

Someone can be imprisoned from a private prosecution .. but I think that a civil case, rather than a private prosecution

My partner used to fight MMA. He still does jiu jitsu now but doesn’t do any fighting competitions anymore.
I’ve never had any reason whatsoever to fear him. No one ever has. There is nothing wrong with the sport. There can be a lot wrong with individuals in any sport.
