Nikita had such terrible bruising, a paramedic hasn't seen such extensive bruising, she had to have a tampon removed from her cervix, she's had her house/car attacked, mum threatened, intruders broke into her home and tried to stab her bf/ threatening her and her bf he tried to pay her off in 2019 for a million, she said no I want justice.

Why wasn't this taken forward as a criminal prosecution?

The compensation doesn't seem enough, given the impact on her life.

They didn't have enough evidence to take it to trial, and she'd have made a very bad witness in a criminal prosecution.

There was some very incriminating video of her at the hotel immediately after the alleged rape, pestering his friend to go back up to the room with her, which he then did, and they had sex.

She also accused that man of rape, but the jury found that this did not happen.

Likely he'd have gotten off and harmed her chances in a civil case.

Can they bring a criminal case against him now?

No.

Why are you assuming that she’s fine with him having violently raped a woman? Or, according to him, had ‘consensual’ sex with a woman?

She’s got four young kids with him. He’s got cash coming out of his ears and can afford some very expensive lawyers. What do you suppose her income is? They’re not married so it’s not as though she’d be entitled to a home, or money to pay for a decent lawyer. And that’s without thinking about people like the men who forced their way into NH’s home and stabbed her partner.

Perhaps she truly believes him and has forgiven him for ‘being unfaithful’ to her. But I don’t understand why anyone would be focusing on her when it’s him who has done the horrific thing.

I have said he is disgusting in every way. I can not comprehend women who stay with men who behave like this. Of course she is entitled to money - to support her children at least.

This is not a one-off, it is the latest in a string of incidences. Women who support men like McGregor, legitimise their behaviour - make it acceptable, minimise it, normalise it, send a message that 'I don't believe it', and 'It's not that bad'. To allow him to bring up your children is disgusting. I can not understand any woman choosing to be with him.

Every woman should condemn the likes of McGregor and all the others like him.

He should have been prosecuted in a criminal case and jailed.

It would be great if he could be jailed but this case was never going to be the case that did it. That woman was never going to get a jury in a criminal case to find in her favour. Way too problematic, her behaviour would have been ripped apart by his defence and the bar is set much higher in a criminal case. She could win a civil case. They would never win a criminal case with her as the victim.

Whenever I see stories of young women with boxers and cage fighters it makes me shudder. I know allegedly it’s all professional but those people harness an inner animal instinct to inflict pain I wonder if it’s fully controllable. What chance would a non-trained male have let alone a woman.

Just absolutely awful.

That lady should hold her head high for having the courage to speak up 💪

To tar any boxer or cage fighter with the same brush is completely unfair and inappropriate. McGregor is a vile specimen, absolutely. Not everyone who partakes in these sports are.

I thought my point was obvious, but your internalised misogyny is obviously so deep that clearly you’re not willing to see anything past his partner.

If you had four children with a frightening and violent man who had enough money to pay for the best lawyers out there, would you leave him and run the risk that your precious babies would be spending 90% of their time being brought up around him and his associates? Would you want them to be pulled out of any private school system so they could go to the local comp and be battered by other kids because of who their dad is? Or would you want to stay so you could protect them as much as possible and minimise any harm he could do?

And she’d be entitled to child support at most; if you think that would be enough to find a home, feed, clothe and educate her children and pay for a lawyer capable of taking on a big city firm, then I don’t know what to say to you other than you don’t have a clue what you’re talking about. And that’s great for you. May you never find yourself in a situation where you have to find out. But you have no idea what’s going on in her head and no room to judge her.

She's not some poor little wallflower. She chooses to be with him. So disgusting as a mother of a daughter herself to do that.

He even looks like an animal.

Insulting to animals really. He looks like some sort of creature who has just crawled out of a primeval swamp

Birdscratch · 22/11/2024 21:08

Conor McGregor is a rapist

Lallydallydune · 22/11/2024 21:12

Another woman accused conor of sexual assault before.

Miami police received a report that alleged McGregor sexually assaulted a woman inside a men’s bathroom at Kaseya Center during the same game in which he punched the mascot. The woman said McGregor “violently” forced himself upon her and attempted to force her to perform multiple sexual acts. He later denied the allegations through his attorney.

I agree that Dee looks bad.

But you don't know who she's dealing with.

Conor Mc's sister is married to someone in an infamous dublin gang for a start. These people don't mess around with physically harming people.

Dee is probably too scared to leave.

dogwal · 22/11/2024 21:14

So he is going to appeal, called a quarter of a million compensation awarded by the jury 'a modest sum', trying to undermine the jury confirming he is a rapist. the whole world knows he is a vicious rapist, whether he appeals or not..

Did you ever think that maybe Dee is too frightened to leave him? That could be the case.

Conor hangs around with a very very tough crowd. Conors sister is married to a notorious gang member.

I'm sure that things wouldn't go well for dee if she left him

EdgeofSeventy · 22/11/2024 21:16

I watch ufc. I watched Saturday night. Rapey Mcgregor was mentioned, but not in any way to do with this case.
I highly doubt the commentator didn't know Rapey was in court.
Seemed in really bad taste imo.
Nobody but Dee knows why she stays. But I can see why she may be afraid to leave.
He's a savage.

He’ll keep on going and earning money - look at all the other rich incels about now, surprised Dior haven’t offered him an ad yet 🙄

I'm not. He's got an incredible ability to make the most expensive clothing look like something off the market. Hopefully that'll keep them away from his door!

Flux1 · 22/11/2024 21:16

The DPP didn't progress with a criminal case as it would have required them to prove the allegation to a jury beyond reasonable doubt. The only two witnesses to what happened in the hotel penthouse were supporting McGregor's account - I'm not saying they were paid off......but.....

Patienceinshortsupply · 22/11/2024 21:19

It will be interesting to see if more women come forward now. And it's disgusting that even with her injuries there was no criminal case to answer to.

I felt most concerned for his partner, in truth. He'll be taking this out on her tonight and she looked shellshocked leaving that court today.

I don't think she is free to leave.

Did you see the way he pulled her along roughly on the way into court.
