Dh has walked off and left me alone at 1am in the street. 2 miles from home

Just that really. We were out with friends, going back to theirs. Dh refused to back to theirs but I don't know why. The others left in a cab. I couldn't leave dh alone in the pub. I I said I'm going home. He said OK. Followed me out in a fit and angry, cos he felt obliged to follow me. He's walked home. I'm 2 miles away from homre and sitting in the cold shivering
He messaged me to ask if I got an uber home. I said no, he said good we've spent £x on uber tonight.

He's walked home and I'm sitting on the kerb, 2 miles away in the dark, cold.

I’m assuming you’re as drunk as a Lord, OP. Hopefully you’ll both reflect on some pish poor decision-making when you wake up with a thumping sore head. But good you’re home now.

rwalker · 16/11/2024 06:32

You caused all this yourself
you could of gone to friends you could of got a taxi home you could of left him
it just sounds like you were deliberately trying to push DH buttons for a reaction

Startinganew32 · 16/11/2024 06:32

This is very child like behaviour - sitting out in the cold on a pavement and declaring you will sleep there (it was freezing last night). It suggests that the dynamic between you and your DH is quite an abusive one that you react like this. You need to decide whether you stay with someone who brings out this side of you or you separate but doing stupid things like this can’t continue.

I find it quite scary that you have a child. Please don’t teach them that this is normal behaviour. It’s not and you were quite vulnerable sitting out in the cold. You should have immediately got a taxi or walked home.
Youre an adult. If your awful sounding DH storms home, you either follow him walking or get a cab. You don’t sit crying on the pavement saying “he knows I’m out in the cold but he doesn’t care. I could be dead for all he knows”. Yeah no shit he doesn’t care about you - that much has been established. And as he was drunk what did you expect him to actually do.

ParanormalNorman · 16/11/2024 06:33

What a load of over dramatic old nonsense. If this is typical for a night out drinking, I suggest you both give it up and do something less toxic with your time.

ShiteRider · 16/11/2024 06:40

This is very manipulative and childish behaviour on your part. At lots of points in this drama, you had the choice to make more sensible choices. I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you were drunk and not yourself.

TheKoalaWhoCould · 16/11/2024 06:42

Oooh you are going to be so embarrassed when you read this back this morning, you absolute drama llama. “I’m sleeping on the kerb tonight” Grin We’ve all been there. I mean, maybe not the sleeping on the kerb announcement part, but the overdramatising a tiny thing. Have a full fat coke, and a shower, and write this one off!

duvetstealer · 16/11/2024 06:43

So you were playing mind games and it back fired, then you sulked about it.
Grow up, you're not in the playground anymore!

DottieMoon · 16/11/2024 06:45

You are ridiculous. Grow up.

Butchyrestingface · 16/11/2024 06:47

Oh, Jesus, you’re 51. I thought you were a 20 something with young kids. Definitely time to get a grip.

RoundandRounnnd · 16/11/2024 06:49

And you thought the best course of action was to write on MN?
I don’t believe this story. But if it is true, I could see why someone would walk away from this type of behaviour. I feel sorry for the son.

pavementgerms · 16/11/2024 06:49

Glad you got home, but.. in the hour you'd sat on the kerb sulking you could have walked home (and back, probably if it was only two miles). In future don't get so drunk that you can't make sensible decisions.

Deathraystare · 16/11/2024 06:50

Neither of you should be drinking alcohol if it makes you that immature. Jesus! 51!!!!!

ShiteRider · 16/11/2024 06:50

51?! Oh dear

ThianWinter · 16/11/2024 06:51

The OP is 51?
Jesus wept, I assumed she was a pissed up 20 something.
What a load of over dramatic bollocks.
Two miles is, what, a 40 minute walk?
Pathetic.

HelplessSoul · 16/11/2024 06:53

TBH, the OP and her other half are fucking stupid.

Orquid · 16/11/2024 06:53

Hope you got some sleep; no very considerate behaviour of your husband; he clearly needs to grow up but so do you; seating in a kerb in the midfield of the night instead of taking an uber or walking home; quite an attention seeker behaviour

LiarLiarKnickersAblaze · 16/11/2024 06:55

batmansknickers · 16/11/2024 03:10

You know, I actually thought for moment that this was a troll, and it might well still be one; thing is that there are people around that are ACTUALLY this utterly mad.

"I'll stay out all night in the cold that'll learn im!"

I think what she’s done is extremely emotionally manipulative.

CalicoPusscat · 16/11/2024 06:56

Main thing is that OP is at home in the warm now. But a big talk later with H about how they both behave is required...

I'm sure OP will know what a wally she's been when she wakes up.

Freysimo · 16/11/2024 06:57

My mum used to say you'd get piles from sitting on cold kerbs.

CaptainMyCaptain · 16/11/2024 06:58

DogsandFlowers · 16/11/2024 01:05

Cos.... predatory men??!

She's sitting still in the dark that won't protect her from predatory men. She should get up and walk.

hot2trotter · 16/11/2024 07:01

If this is real, you need to grow up.

CalicoPusscat · 16/11/2024 07:02

It's funny (as in seems strange) when you wake up really early and get a cup of tea and there are all these threads about still being out or other half not home yet.

Makes me feel a bit boring tbh as the only time I stay up late now is if I'm at a friend's or can't sleep and watch a film!

LoudSnoringDog · 16/11/2024 07:02

This is one of the most ridiculous posts I've ever read on here

Zonder · 16/11/2024 07:03

Boopadoop90 · 16/11/2024 01:12

He has left me in the dark and alone

TBF you did tell him not to bother walking with you.

His behaviour was rubbish. Did you ask why he didn't want to go to friends?

Your behaviour is stupid and childish. Why on earth would you sleep on a kerb when you're half an hour from home? Why wouldn't you walk or get an Uber? You're cutting off your nose to spite your face here.

Twiglets1 · 16/11/2024 07:03

Boopadoop90 · 16/11/2024 03:00

I walked home. V cold ! And dark

Why didn't you just get an uber/taxi?
