What needs to be invented that hasn’t been yet?

We need car radio that we can pause. There was a quiz on the radio earlier and I waited ages for the answer but eventually had to go to a meeting. I wish I could pause it and start where I’d turned the engine off. Same as a rewind for when you start the car at the end of a song you love.

What else needs to be invented?

Our local wine shop used to have a machine that you put the newly purchsed
wine off the shelf in and it chilled to cold or extra cold in minutes it was brilliant, the shop closed and i have never seen one since.

Or the genius supermarket hack, where you chuck your wine or beer bottle in the big freezers along with the frozen peas etc while you do your shopping. Grab it back out when it's time to pay, nicely chilled 😊

A pill you can give to kittens that does no harm whatsoever but stops them growing big. In other words a permanent kitten 😸

A way to see the future

A strain of bacteria that feeds on plastic waste

A gadget that can allow you to cut your own hair more easily.

An energy machine that helps you to heal energy damage in your body after rape /sexual assault.

I'm sure that being raped deeply energetically hurts people. It's why so many people struggle to recover for years.

Doctors that take women's health more seriously.

There is. Some blokes beg for it but struggle to get it. Some countries easier to get it than others.

It should be standard, even if it is brutal.

Most of those sexually abusing children aren't paedophiles (in that they aren't sexually attracted to children particularly) - children are just an easy target. It's more of a control thing than a sexual thing (as is a lot of sexual abuse and rape).

A GPS device with lifetime (20+ years) battery that is as small as a microchip and can be injected into the skin at the back of your cat's neck. Would be helpful for dogs, too.

Knowing my cat is microchipped and could be identified if taken to a vet after an accident/death is helpful, but when DCat went missing a few weeks ago I would have been so grateful to have been able to just trace her on my phone via a GPS signal. (She did come home, fortunately, after five days - no idea where she had been!)

I know there are already GPS trackers for cats and dogs, but they are bulky and require the cat to tolerate a collar plus the device itself. I do not have the kind of cats that tolerate collars. 🤣

To fit a devise in cars that detects pedestrians waiting to cross the road when it’s raining and automatically stop to let them across, same goes for avoiding the big puddles and splashing pedestrians.

A shampoo and conditioner for frizzy hair that gives you instant poker straight shiny hair without having to blow dry or straighten your hair.

ArmourClatterSale · 13/11/2024 16:34

Haven’t read the whole thread so apologies if someone else has said it - I would very much like Cadbury to bring out a chocolate (that tastes like original Cadbury used to) that the more of it you eat the slimmer you get. I’d be skinny.

thepariscrimefiles · 13/11/2024 16:36

A cure for dementia.

There’s 13 pages, has anyone said anything about a contraption that fixes a fitted sheet to the bed and puts the duvet cover on with the minimum amount of faff?

It's been invented!

I saw a video where an engineer had invented this to do it in his own house.

Sadly it's not on the mass market yet.

All the gadgets in Wallace and Gromit 's house would be wonderful!

Mylovelylittlepetbedbug · 13/11/2024 17:43

A clear spray that you spray on your newly cleaned windows. Peels off like a face mask when it's dirty and you spay a fresh coat on ( live near a road and windows get filthy )

OldandTired66 · 13/11/2024 18:11

An app like plantnet but for cables for printers, laptops, xboxes, old phones, game boys, all the other old junk cluttering up the house that tells you what it is, what it came from and whether to keep, sell or bin it.

WildGuide · 13/11/2024 18:23

Some kind of app that allows you to switch between reading a book and listening to the audio book, picking up where you left off each time regardless of whether you’re reading or listening.

I had an in depth conversation with the nurse/operator about this at my last appointment. She said a new machine had been invented by women, but that it still squished your boobs!

We live in hope, one day.

They found a lump during my last mammogram so sent me for an ultrasound. I wonder why they don't just do an ultrasound instead of the 'big squeeze'

Lump nothing nasty, blinking internal bruise 🙂

Well you could probably commission am engineer to make one for you.

The machine he designed looked fairly simple

If you have a kindle and audible account, you can do this with Whispersync.
