Queen Camilla taking part in a documentary to highlight abuse of women

Apoplectic that ITV have chosen Queen Camilla to host a documentary highlighting the domestic abuse of women when she was King Charle's OW for many years and complicit in his abuse of Princess Diana.

World gone mad!

Get help!
I should get help about Camilla. Lol that's hilarious.

I see you again ignored the fact - that loads of other people have written on this thread, that camilla is horrible

Why are you ignoring what all of those other posters are saying?

Edited

You’ve been solidly at this for 24 hours now. For the love of God, just give it up. This kind of obsession is properly unhealthy.

GetrudeCoppard · 12/11/2024 19:20

What a bonkers post, OP. I like Camilla and think it’s great she’s fronting this documentary.

Before we re-write history, let’s remember Diana didn’t exactly behave well in her time. Numerous affairs, crazy stalker behaviour, manipulation of the media to her advantage. And that’s just the stuff that’s well documented.

WestwardHo1 · 12/11/2024 19:21

Honestly @Sylviacrystal you sound completely unhinged 😥

I have a good friend who suffered hugely from DV - in fact her exH was imprisoned for what he did to her. She has since become a bit of a champion in her own right for women who have suffered, and has met Camilla in this capacity. She was very impressed with her.

And quite frankly, I'm more prepared to trust her judgement than yours.

Another thing Camilla supports is the osteoporosis society because she knows what it's like as her own mother died from it. Anyone that has met her have said she's a really nice woman(and I know someone who has).

All those going on about what she did 30 years ago need to move on and go and find something to make their lives more fulfilling. Maybe go and volunteer in a woman's refuge or a domestic abuse charity. Maybe go and sit and listen to a domestic abuse survivor. But I doubt you will because in your glass houses your lives are perfect.

Edited

Yes - IIRC it's the only charity she had links with before her second marriage. Because she didn't want to be pilloried for acting in line with a status she had not then got; but this was was personal enough to go for anyway and hang any potential consequences

And a large part of her rehabilitation was slowly winning over people simply because she is, in person, nice.

Ah I see that you're a Camilla lover. That's why you wrote that.

No you grow up!

Livingtothefull · 12/11/2024 19:22

I just want to state that I think some of the comments about Diana on here are utterly ghastly. Whatever mistakes she may have made.....she has been dead for nearly 30 years. Can't her memory be left in peace?

WestwardHo1 · 12/11/2024 19:23

Given that you seem to be bringing the affairs and the Church into it, why not leave the judgement to God? Judge not lest ye be judged, let he who is without the first sin cast the first stone etc.

No one has posted as vociferously or as viscously as you on this thread whilst also claiming to be of high moral standing that’s why, your obsessive behaviour on here is disturbing.

24 hours ? Thats nothing. Threads run on mumsnet for up to a week. Some go for longer.

You're hilarious. You're calling me obsessed with camilla, yet here you are posting about camilla yourself.

Screamingabdabz · 12/11/2024 19:25

Poor ol’ Camilla…just trying to shed a bit of light on an important and often overlooked societal problem and using her profile for good. What is she supposed to do? Sit in a cave with sackcloth and ashes flagellating herself forever? Jeez move the fuck on!

And deal with whatever issues you’ve got. Remember it’s the man that commits the betrayal not the OW… However much you want to let him off the hook by burning her.

unhinged is the buzz bully word in mumsnet. It's so utterly predictable

There were people on both sides yesterday

Where did the big gang of camilla lovers come from all of a sudden.

Camilla being the mistress preceded Diana's death by about 10 years (I'm not counting the older, premarital relationship; it's even longer if you do). So the very basic concept of the thread - what Camilla did nearly 40 years ago means she shouldn't do this now - covers that Diana timeframe too.

Yeah Charles didn't come out if it looking good either.

No you grow up!

No just someone that's been through something she is bringing much needed attention to.

Maybe if you had spent years scared of the man thats meant to love you, frightened that if you say something he doesn't like he'll lash out at you , that you flinch when he'd come near you because he had hit you so many times that you almost knew it would happen again, or he strangled you only stopping when you start struggling for breath, you might see that she is doing some much needed good to a subject most people still turn a blind eye to.

What some women go through is horrific.

Maybe actually watch the programme and have your eyes opened.

The main difference between them though is that Diana is no longer with us so doesn't have to impress us any more.

I am not a monarchist but I can't make any comment on Camilla's personal sincerity....I don't know her after all. I do think though that this is part of a campaign to convince us that the royals do care really, following the documentary which exposes them as slumlords enriching themselves on public money.

How funny to call someone else obsessed for posting about Camilla ,

when here you are on the thread -posting about Camilla!

5128gap · 12/11/2024 19:34

Only 30% of the women referred to refuges can be accomodated.
£180 million a year is needed to meet survivors basic needs.
Given I thought the thread would focus a bit more on the documentary than it has, I'll just leave that there for those who missed it and might be looking for a good cause to donate to.

Timelines are all wrong for it to be that.

This programme has been months in the making and its broadcast date has been known for weeks.

Well before the C4 programme - that didn't really do anything other than repackage information that's already in the public domain (but was probably new to younger viewers).

I'm disappointed that the thread has not been talking more about those aspects too.
