Apoplectic that ITV have chosen Queen Camilla to host a documentary highlighting the domestic abuse of women when she was King Charle's OW for many years and complicit in his abuse of Princess Diana.

World gone mad!

OP posts:

Charles didn't physically abuse Diana did he? I have never heard that he did. I don't think Diana accused him of it. If you're referring to his relationship with Camilla, didn't you know that Diana had relationships with other men?

NotOneOfTheInCrowd · 11/11/2024 20:53

Presumably you detest Diana equally for the abuse of all the women whose husbands she shagged? No?

Infidelity is not domestic violence, and to compare the two is grossly offensive.

And Diana was no victim. She just knew how to manipulate for the sympathy vote.

Freethebees · 11/11/2024 20:54

She's the poster girl for side chicks everywhere. Impossible to like either her or Charlie sadly.

Fully agree with OP.

This is ridiculous. The person who damages a marriage by having an affair is the one in the marriage.

Says who?

I completely disagree with you.

I have chosen to never sleep with a married man, as I would know the pain it would cause his wife. My actions and her husbands actions would cause that pain.

I have managed to never be with a married man

mynameiscalypso · 11/11/2024 20:57

I do find the level of vitriol still to be quite bizarre. Charles and Diana were divorced nearly 30 years ago and Charles and Camilla have been married for 20 years!

Enchente · 11/11/2024 20:58

I wonder how many people contact Women’s Aid saying they’ve been emotionally abused and cite being cheated on as the nature of the ‘abuse’, caused by the OW.

I’m not saying it’s victimless, but to use the word abuse here is to downplay the very serious meaning which is intended in this documentary.

There's no vitriol.

However if camilla is doing a documentary highlighting abuse against women, of course people are going to point out that

Camilla has also abused a woman.

Menowhatdoyoucallit · 11/11/2024 20:59

She's a strong advocate for all women who have been subjected to domestic violence. It's not a glamorous cause by any means so I am full of admiration for her for being so passionate about it.

Emotional abuse is abuse though.

Lying, coercive control, it's all abuse.

Womens aid describes it as abuse.

Then so did Diana. She was the cause of Will Carling’s divorce.

Except she hasn’t.

And he'd been sliding in her DMs and beyond whilst married.

It's the cause, surely? Not whether you like the woman or not.
Seems a strange thing to castigate a woman for - supporting victims of DV.

Yes so did Diana.

And so did Camilla.

Camilla did it first.

Menowhatdoyoucallit · 11/11/2024 21:01

Diana and Charles both cheated on each other. Cheating is painful but it's not abuse.

Yes, I would agree with this.
It's not about her as a person, it's the cause she's supporting.

I’m sure Julia Carling took enormous comfort from that. 🙄

Look up the definition of abuse. Yes she has.

Remember Diana said one time that she was roaring crying over what camilla was doing

I agreed with you though. I said yes, Diana did it aswell.

Arlanymor · 11/11/2024 21:03

Well if the royal family weren’t so bloody ridiculous he should have been allowed to marry her years ago - they met before Diana. But she didn’t meet the prerequisites because she wasn’t a virgin and she was a commoner. They created abject misery because of ‘tradition’, totally revolting. And as I’ve said, I am staunchly against the whole concept of a royal family, but the two fell in love and were not allowed to be together. So the patriarchy also damaged Camilla.

You think the Queen is the same as a known prolific paedophile?

This has become an absolutely vile thread, so I'm off. Dear lord, she's supporting a worthwhile cause. Unbelievable attitude from some people.
