There absolutely has been surgery on children for gender reasons, mainly mastectomies on girls but also more rarely genital surgery on males. It’s not common but it has happened. Rachel Levine, a man who is trans and part of the Biden administration, personally intervened in the publication of WPATH’s standards of care version 8 to make sure minimum age recommendations for surgery were removed from the guidelines.

I probably would have voted Harris if I was in the US, but Levine and all he stands for is the main reason I’m not too devastated Trump won.

Young women will be less likely to be raped and murdered under a Trump administration, given that criminals (most who already have long rap sheets before they commit greater crimes) will be more likely to be locked up and kept in prison.

With regards to abortion... It blows my mind that you lot are so obsessed with killing babies. You need help. An American woman can go to a blue state and kill her baby there, there is no need to act like she has no access to abortion at all. Perhaps don't have unprotected sex if you don't want to get pregnant, or consider getting a temporary IUD if you are at the time of the month where the emergency contraceptive pill will likely be ineffective. Left-wing women have no concept of personal responsibility.

I wonder what would have happened if they had gone with, say, Josh Shapiro, the Gov of Pennsylvania. Maybe it was always going to be a case of getting the incumbent government out though because of living costs, inflation, immigration etc. But how awful that they'd rather vote in a narcissistic fascist than a decent woman.

In hindsight all the celebrity endorsements of Harris make a fool of that campaign and the Dems generally. The likes of mega rich Taylor Swift, Gaga, Clooney, Julia Roberts etc etc don't exactly face the same economic or day to day realities as the average person.

The Biden administration recently sued Alabama at the Supreme Court to try to strike down Alabama's ban on forms of gender-affirming care for minors.

The court documents are a very illuminating source on this topic.

From the Alabama brief:

"A 2017 survey found that a majority of WPATH-affiliated plastic surgeons in the US had performed transitioning "vaginoplasties" on on minors, "thereby contravening" the WPATH standards at the time [...]. In this context, "vaginoplasty" refers to [...] the attempted creation of a faux-vagina in a teenaged boy that begins by "removing the penis, testicles and scrotum.""

This suggests that it's happening and it's not rare. There is plenty more about top-surgeries on children as young as 13, but I'm restricting this to vaginoplasty.

It is also a fair depiction that 'Democrats' are doing this. The Biden administration case was joined in support by 22 Democratic Attorneys-General, and joined in opposition by 19 Republican and 2 Democratic Attorneys-General.

And the court documents also revealed pressure put on W-PATH by the administration (Admiral Levine) to remove proposed age limits from draft W-PATH guidance because of political concerns. That's in the court papers, and was also reported on by the NYT.

"Levine's office contacted WPATH [...] with a political concern: that the list of "specific minimum ages for treatment," "under 18 years, will result in devastating legislation for trans care". Following this, W-PATH agreed to remove ages from SOC-8.

Girls have had their breasts removed from the age of 13 and puberty blockers and cross sex hormones can stop a boys genital development. The famous Jazz Jennings now identifies as asexual - presumably hormone treatment and surgery have completely removed his ability to function sexually. This is the problem with saying people can decide when they are 18. The majority of detransitioners had surgery as young adults - over the age of 18 and their distress at what they have done to their bodies is immense. 18 is much to young to make irreversible decisions about surgery.
