... won't be so exciting - Kamala will scrape through and Trump will moan and then back down?

Can't see a thread on this, but if there is, please do tell me x

Georgia just called for Trump. He’s pulled away to 246 points and it’s being predicted that he will win all 7 battleground states. And republicans just took control of the senate too. Doesn’t get more decisive than for him.

Out of interest, why are black people and especially Hispanic people voting for him so decisively if he’s so racist. Even the Arab American community is coming out to vote for him. Looks like women abandoned Kamala too.

Wonder why the progressive, enlightened ones think this might be. After all, they have all the answers.

I think he has a great ability to “other” people …. It’s the “other” black people I’m talking about .. not you .. it’s the “other” Hispanics” not you.

In reality it is them he’s talking about…but people probably need to live through the next few years to see it.

saltinesandcoffeecups · 06/11/2024 05:48

Oh dear… Where to start.

  1. The Liz Cheney thing is stupid… what he said was she she should experience having to face guns of war instead of sending young men to die (ironically a similar message I hear on mumsnet a lot)
  2. Tax cuts and tariffs… sign me up please
  3. ACA is here to stay sadly… there won’t be an expansion though… Yaaa!
  4. Kamal was VP for 4 years. She literally held the second most powerful job in the US, she campaigned twice .. once as VP and once as Pres. Voters knew her and didn’t like her. (Her own base didn’t like her which is why she dropped out of her primary)
  5. Abortion - he has said multiple times he won’t sign a federal abortion law. He thinks the states should control it.

Ah well… good night all it’s well past my bedtime. Console yourselves that it’s America’s problem and not yours.

Have you swallowed MSM in one go?

What makes you think that ?

Because tariffs don't hurt our trade especially now we're out of the EU. Because Ukraine isn't a war in Europe and now annexed by an emboldened Putin . I sincerely hope Trump voters accept they now hold the cards to "fix it" and don't keep blaming deep state neocon progressive libtards like myself.

Barrack Obama on X:
"It took several days to count every ballot in 2020, and it's very likely we won't know the outcome tonight either. ... Let the process run its course. It takes time to count every ballot."

Optimism is good. Delusion is not.

ExtraOnions · 06/11/2024 06:07

…a bright spark might be that, if he makes trade with the rest the of the world difficult, companies may want to relocate. if we fix the financial trade rules that we lost under Brexit, the UK could become a useful place to relocate.

Him getting in is hopefully the catalyst we need to rebuild with the EU.

Oh? You don't recall Donald claiming victory in 2020, before all the votes were counted, and the shift to Biden becoming clearer over night?

ExtraOnions · 06/11/2024 06:08

…another bright spark is that the US election will be off the Front Pages !

He is wiping the floor with her. This is what happens when you put forward a weak, puppet of a candidate.

It’s been amusing to watch the media big up Harris for the past few weeks while she went around spewing her nauseating word salad speeches with 0 specifics or policy, never having achieved a single thing as Vice President.

And now the people have spoken.

Couldn't say it better.
Different, maybe, but the post wouldn't make it through.

Because their candidate is losing.

What the hell is a neckbeard? 😂

I am despairing for the human race. What a shitshow.

I meant the people whose candidate is winning. Seriously, be happy, why imagine to yourself that everyone that disagrees with you thinks you are stupid and spend your time typing angry messages. Presumably you had sound reasons for wanting Trump to win other than owning the libs so why not soak in the happy anticipation of the future you expect rather than ranting.

XxSideshowAuntSallyx · 06/11/2024 06:26

Maybe, just maybe, the Americans don't like being patronised by multi millionaire celebrities. I found Oprah's rant rather scaremongering and patronising.

If Harris has to resort to wheeling out the likes of Katy Perry, Oprah, Lady Gaga and Michelle Obama to try and convince people to vote for her then I think she only has herself to blame. What knowledge do any of them have on the every day struggles of your average Joe.

I'm not saying that's the strongest tactic but I suppose it's partly used to encourage people not to vote for a dangerous and incompetent opponent. Kamala Harris didn't have the longest time to campaign and get herself known that well so maybe she tried to tap into the fact that people should be frightened of voting in Trump...

WW3 was going to happen anyway. It's not great that the European leg will start sooner.
