... won't be so exciting - Kamala will scrape through and Trump will moan and then back down?

Can't see a thread on this, but if there is, please do tell me x

Looks like Trump will win. The only way Harris could at this point is if she got all 3 Michigan, Pennsylvania & Wisconsin & that v unlikely.
Americans aren’t uniquely stupid (I give you Brexit) but people are. I feel sorry for Americans having to suffer thru 4 more years of the Trump sh*t-show, but they brought it on themselves. I also feel vv sorry for Ukraine, which will immediately get thrown to Russia.

Ytcsghisn · 06/11/2024 04:28

He is wiping the floor with her. This is what happens when you put forward a weak, puppet of a candidate.

It’s been amusing to watch the media big up Harris for the past few weeks while she went around spewing her nauseating word salad speeches with 0 specifics or policy, never having achieved a single thing as Vice President.

And now the people have spoken.

HerRoyalNotness · 06/11/2024 03:39

Exactly. I actually can’t comprehend the thought process behind the T vote. And I have to live amongst them. What hope is there?

Then you should work on your comprehension skills.

AnotherHotDrink · 06/11/2024 04:30

Hopefully this will be the global end to the nonsense of men being women. It may be the start of a war in Europe though, if he stops funding Ukraine.

How condescending.

Quite the opposite.

Thinking that the other side is somehow irrational for voting the way they do has long been the problem with the left and ‘progressives’. It implies that the other side is stupid, ‘gammons’, ‘basket of deplorables’, ‘garbage’. You know, all the labels that the enlightened left like to apply to people.

Whereas, understanding that they have valid concerns would be more apt for any critical thinking person.

How so? When the war mongering lobby knows that it cannot rip off the US taxpayer by orchestrating more wars, how will it cause more wars?

Nah, when you have a candidate behaving like this. It is incomprehensible

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes on Friday said her office is investigating whether former President Donald Trump's remarks about former Wyoming Liz Cheneyhaving "guns trained on her face" broke the law.

Former President Donald Trump said Wednesday at a campaign rally that "whether the women like it or not," he will "protect" them, noting that his advisers had instructed him not to use the line, which he said they deemed "inappropriate."

Former President Donald Trump said once again Wednesday that he would pardon Jan. 6 rioters if he wins the election, repeatedly lying about what happened during the violent attack on the U.S. Capitol, which injured more than 140 police officers

not to mention concepts of a plan for replacing the ACA, tariffs on goods, tax cuts for the rich.

Is that the best you can do. Propaganda. In any case it doesn’t matter. The electorate is speaking for itself.

Waiting for him to fellate a microphone at his victory speech. Very depressing.

Bless. Shouldn’t you be pounding the keyboard on Twitter or something, regurgitating soundbites, shouting people down, calling them names.

Its a bit mellow do you around here.

Like I say, the electorate has spoken. It doesn’t seem to be going the ‘right’ way.

Quoting the words of your own candidate choice is propaganda.,.OK 😂😂😂

Problem with America is that there genuinely is not a base level of decent education- so many home educated adults passing on varying standards of misinformation to their kids (they have a large population of people that still believe the earth is flat/ don’t believe dinosaurs existed). A politician that’s willing to lie and feed on their fears can get them to believe anything. It’s hard to compete against a candidate so willing to lie and get away with it easily due to the insular and uneducated nature of many US states.

The fact that so many of Trump’s previous staff and many republicans are voting Kamala this time round says it all. But it’s too little too late. The Republican Party sold themselves to the cult of Trump in order to get the win in 2016 and can now no longer save their party who have become the cesspit where name calling, racism and sexism are all fair game.

America will get the leader they deserve. Too bad their political decisions affects us all globally. Four more years of Trump’s stupidity and abusive rhetoric 😩

She seems to be rocketing while he has stagnated. Surely she will win now?

What makes you think this? In the news I’m reading and listening to it sounds like Trump is on course to win. He’s currently got 230 college votes according to the Daily Mail vs. Kamala who has 210.

ExtraOnions · 06/11/2024 05:33

I think American politics really misses out by only having two parties .. as much as I might no like all the candidates here, at least you gave a third party who can swing things ..and small disrupter parties, who add to the variety of the whole thing.

Plus our Prime Minister is the leader of the party that wins most seats .. you have this odd situation in the States when you can end up with a president no real power.

As for judges being political appointments - what a terrible idea that is

For the cradle of Democracy, it all seems a bit of a mess

MrsPeregrine · 06/11/2024 05:33

Biden shouldn’t have run again. By the time he stepped down, there wasn’t enough time for the US public to get to know Kamala properly.

She is a nobody on the world stage. Everyone knows who Trump is. I'll be glad if he wins. The people have spoken. All your Oprahs Taylor Swifts and the rest of the motley crew of wheeled out celebs didn't do it for Harris. Good. Anyway it's not quite decided yet.

ExtraOnions · 06/11/2024 05:43

I do worry about what’s next.

He’ll appease Putin .. which will prob lead to the fall of Ukraine. Putin wants to restore the Russian Empire, so would not suprise me if he headed off into Finland next

The markets & the economy in the US will 100% crash out - Musk has already said this will happen. This will affect the whole of the world economy.

He’ll put higher tariffs on imports to the US.. which is bad for us, as we are no longer part of of the large trading block that is the EU ..

He’ll curtail women’s rights to make decisions about their own bodies, in particular Abortion and Contraception. As ever, something that will particularly affect poor women.

The “mass deportations” will also negatively effect thier economy, when they realise there is no-one left to do the work.

The last two don’t effect me much, I don’t live in the States… I am really concerned about his relationship with Putin though.

Ytcsghisn · 06/11/2024 05:44

Georgia just called for Trump. He’s pulled away to 246 points and it’s being predicted that he will win all 7 battleground states. And republicans just took control of the senate too. Doesn’t get more decisive than for him.

Out of interest, why are black people and especially Hispanic people voting for him so decisively if he’s so racist. Even the Arab American community is coming out to vote for him. Looks like women abandoned Kamala too.

Wonder why the progressive, enlightened ones think this might be. After all, they have all the answers.
