Extremely worried for Sarah. Last sighting was the early hours of Saturday morning getting in to a black Vauxhall car in Camden. Please share.

^ seems like whenever they are found in river it’s assumed accident or suicide. Sorry for being morbid, just struck me that there’s a lot of recent news stories where that’s where they are found after going missing.

DollyBrolly · 04/11/2024 10:47

No-one here is more important than this woman's family.

This x100.

StickyStones · 04/11/2024 10:46

well you clearly think your opinion is more important than anyone else's @SwanRivers

Quite.

DearRussell · 04/11/2024 10:51

It always comes across as highly self indulgent when people aggressively try to monitor others and tell us who we should be getting information from.

if Sarah’s friends choose to update on social media that is entirely legitimate. It’s been done to thank people who have been invested in their friend’s welfare and to share the very sad news.

Her second cousin two times removed is more important that her best friend?

SwanRivers · 04/11/2024 10:53

@StickyStones and the super sleuths on this thread seem to think the family's feelings don't matter.

I can see some people are terribly annoyed at the thought the family might be more important here.

StickyStones · 04/11/2024 10:55

You appear to be the only one who is incredibly annoyed, what with your use of capitals etc. You are virtue-signalling, just let it go, you're achieving nothing.

Her poor family and friends don't need you and your rants.

SwanRivers · 04/11/2024 10:56

Thank goodness MNHQ have finally removed the post.

Now hopefully an official identification will take place and the correct procedures followed.

Agree with you. Swan seems quite excited to be in charge of this

IkeaJesusChrist · 04/11/2024 11:06

Some of Sarah's friends are still posting appeals for information on social media...

Yes. News outlets have also updated this morning (some within the last hour) suggesting that the deleted post is incorrect.

SwanRivers · 04/11/2024 11:11

Yes, Reddit have removed the 'update' that was shared here by Ashley.

@AshleighB9393 I'm sorry you were given such a hard time in your time of sadness. I hope @SwanRivers will think twice before attacking posters in future.

What a terribly sad outcome. Very sorry for the posters who knew Sarah.

SensibleSigma · 04/11/2024 13:41

The news is now updating, too.

No, they briefly hid it, and have reinstated it. As you will see below.

Absolutely not.

The family are requesting privacy.

At no point had they requested anyone to spread what was at the time, a completely unsubstantiated rumour around the internet.

No-one had the right to do that.

But you carry on point scoring if you think it's the decent thing to do.

Zoflorabore · 04/11/2024 13:55

News has said the death is not suspicious.

so very sad. What a talented lady. Thoughts are with those who knew and loved her.

@SwanRivers Can you please just stop.

@AshleighB9393 I am so sorry for your loss. Flowers

WhereTheFuckIsMyFuckingCoat · 04/11/2024 13:59

Oh give it up @SwanRivers - you were wrong in attacking Ashleigh who was sharing her information about her friend.

The family have requested privacy from the media. That doesn't mean that Sarah's friends aren't allowed to share their story without fear of being shamed by any Tom, Dick or Swan on the internet.

Mumsnet have reinstated both the thread, and Ashleigh's original posts, which means that she at the very least, on this forum had every right to express herself as she did. Have a little respect ffs, and accept defeat when you have been proven wrong.

Sometimes tjese fb missing posts do far more harm then good always think before reposting them esp if you do not know the circumstances as it could actually deter the person from getting in touch due to.alll the unwanted attention they are now getting when already having a hard time and possibly they are already at rock bottom

I'm not sure what the alternative is though? Just don't ask for help in locating the missing person? I realise that seeing a lot of posts on social media about yourself if you are "in hiding" could cause distress, however most people who are "missing" owing to mh issues, probably aren't checking in on their socials. And if they are, it's unlikely to influence their decisions, or tip them over into desperate measures.

I will preface my next paragraph by saying that I am in no way suggesting that Sarah lost her life due to mental health or suicide, as I and likely no one else would have any way to know that at this point, however I am speaking in reference to the post I am replying to before mine:

One of the first things taught in suicide negotiation training is that asking the person if they plan to suicide, should be the first question asked, and is in no way likely to encourage that as a course of action. If someone isn't considering suicide, asking them if they are, will not put it in their head, or make them think that they can or should. In the same vein, putting out information that a missing person is vulnerable is highly unlikely to affect their actions in such a negative manner.
