Extremely worried for Sarah. Last sighting was the early hours of Saturday morning getting in to a black Vauxhall car in Camden. Please share.

it seems strange the police (& everyone else) is saying she's 'missing' so soon, she's a young woman, but a proper adult, not an 18yo 'adult' at her age I was travelling loads & would have been apoplectic at being reported 'missing' after such a short time.

Was her boyfriend with her at her friends B&B?

why was she leaving a B&B at 2:30 am to go home?

Was the car she got in a friends or an Uber?

sorry more questions than answers 🥲

I so hope she turns up soon.

Edited

I thought this at first yesterday when the friends started putting up SM posts. I thought she was probably crashed out on a friend's sofa or something but as times gone on it's become really worrying. They were out in the local area organising searches and putting up posters.

Yes - in the spirit of keeping the thread bumped - the 24 hour wait to report an adult missing is a myth i think.

There can be many circumstances which would make the report a priority even a couple of hours into it. State of mind, state of dress ect.

That's what i was wondering upthread. The no phone, no coat, no knowledge of the car/driver would do it.

NoisyDenimShaker · 03/11/2024 20:27

She was last seen getting into a car? Sounds like a dodgy minicab. Uber would have a record of her trip. I hope she turns up, but if she never reached home then it doesn't look so great. Her poor family and close friends must be frantic.

Stickseas0n · 03/11/2024 20:31

Have the passengers she got into the car with been accounted for? Maybe they would have an idea of where she was headed..

NoisyDenimShaker · 03/11/2024 20:38

How do we know she didn't make it home? Did she live with anyone? It seems to be her brother doing all the media stuff, not a boyfriend. Hoping she got home and has simply been sleeping/nesting all day.

Well I know the police can be a bit dim but I presume her home has been checked.

You'd hope.

Her boyfriend has been posting online too asking for anyone with info to contact.

There's obviously a lot of concern if the police are already looking for her.

You think the police are kicking off an investigation without starting with 'maybe she's at home in bed'?

SeriouslyStressed · 03/11/2024 20:50

She could have been receiving threats or harassment from a known dangerous person.

She could have a medical condition that requires regular treatment.

She may have missed an important personal event or appointment.

She gave have expressed unsafe intentions.

She could have a restating order (non mol) against someone.

All of these would make her more vulnerable than an average person

You're right. It was just wishful thinking.

Just some magical/wishful thinking. They would have checked, you're right.

Confusedgoosey · 03/11/2024 21:07

It's really damaging when people say it's silly to be worried. She is a young woman who hasn't returned home when expected, that's always deeply worrying.

ChocNice · 03/11/2024 21:11

How worrying when people go missing. I really hope she’s OK.

I'm confused by your post. Surely you understand the difference between "going travelling lots" and disappearing from where you were expected to be in the middle of the night?!

SoYouThinkYouCanPrance · 03/11/2024 21:23

It gets me down that people are so locked into a conspiracist mindset that they’re on here questioning, even almost undermining, reports that a woman is missing.

It is categorically not ‘strange’ that she’s been reported missing. It costs us nothing to trust that there are good reasons for it. Nobody owes us a full breakdown of what those reasons are at this stage.

I very much hope they find her.

valueyourself · 03/11/2024 21:40

Experience on a mixed misper/ safeguarding team here . I don't know this case but if ANYONE is given the high priority within this relatively short period of time - there will have been certain intelligence markers hit..

The number of hours a person has gone missing before it's taken seriously IS a myth. !

It depends on each case.. medical info.. family background, previous known history with the police if any ..

I hope this publicity ends with good news 🙏

youve987456 · 03/11/2024 21:51

There are people that it would be normal for them to go awol for a while after a night out and others that it would be so out of character for that it would be very worrying. If I went on a night out and did not contact my DP to tell him I wasn't coming home and he didn't hear from me by about 8 or 9am, once he'd contacted whoever he knew I was with and found out I wasn't with them I'd bloody well hope he'd report me missing immediately because it's highly likely there'd be something wrong.

SmallestMan · 03/11/2024 21:59

An alert for her was put out on reddit last night, I noticed it before I went to bed as I have family in the same area.

Saschka · 03/11/2024 22:01

IkeaJesusChrist · 03/11/2024 20:42

I think that poster means she may have made it home and then come to harm there. Not that she is safely tucked up in bed and nobody has checked.

If’s unlikely they have done a full forensic examination of the flat less than 48 hrs after she disappeared.

NOTANUM · 03/11/2024 22:03

It’s a huge worry. Camden at night is a busy place but also full of transient people moving about so reports of her getting into an unmarked car are concerning. No wonder her family are worried.

Saschka · 03/11/2024 22:06

And yes, if I told DH I was just getting into an Uber home, was seen by friends getting into an Uber, and then never arrived home, I would bloody well hope DH would report me missing a bit quicker than 24hrs, because I’d likely be dead in a ditch.

Pancakeflipper · 03/11/2024 22:21

Hoping Sarah is found safe and well ASAP.
