Oh I wouldn't worry - is it the same department? Even if it is, you might not speak to the same person. Even if you do, just crack on as if you have no recollection of previous events - as civil and business-like as possible. It'll only be a few minutes of your day, and then you can think about spoons nicer things.

Also love Pretty Woman! We randomly did a play of it at my (all girls) school when I was about 13 - i was the waiter that caught the snail that she flicked!

That NY Home Alone experience sounds brilliant. I wanted to do the Sex and the City tour when I was there but ran out of time as we only had a spare day as I was there with work.

I've just listened to the Children in Need song - I'll stand by you - which is one of my favourite songs anyway and it's really beautiful.

Good luck with your call to the council. Think "business head" on - get it sorted and be really neutral and civil. It'll be OK (totally get you though as I hate phone calls a the best of times!). Do you have anything else on today? Hope you're feeling better.

My car has gone in to be MOT'd today so I've got everything crossed it goes through OK and I get it back in reasonable time. He said he might have to keep it till tomorrow though.

I don’t have any plans for today , probably will read some of my book and need to make a few phone calls. Throat still hurts and is swollen but it’s manageable at the moment.

It was a bit of screwed up paper made into a pretend snail I think! I don't think it was even papier macho - it was just a little play, not a big production (thank god!).

Hope you make it through the roots appointment and work bits and can get some rest later. Getting roots done will make you feel better (I feel much better when I do mine!).

I know - crazy choice of play, it was just a little one we did for fun in our boarding house so the older girls chose it (boarding school so we were very bored at times!). The next year we did Grease 2.

I was speaking to my friend from the crisis house yesterday on the phone and she made me laugh. When we was at the house we sat round the table in the kitchen one night and was talking . I was telling her about a time when I worked for the bank and I was on a phone call to a solicitor and I was spelling out a postcode using phonetic alphabet and I said ‘Y’ for wankee instead of Yankee . She said she was giving her car reg to the insurance people and she was petrified of saying wankee for the Y 😂

That spoon bauble is gorgeous! I'm going to have to hunt some down myself! Also, what is with with loo roll inners and Christmas decorations! I made some as a child (to me they were AWESOME!) and my long-suffering parents had them on the tree for years! I think they may have retired now, but I bet we still have them! I might have to see if I can fish them out this year!

Reminds of a friend when we were teens. She got a part-time job in a salon. A call came from a customer asking about the price of blow dry. My friend set the phone down and shouted out how much is a blow job 😂

Absolutely amazing news, not just any house but a new one with a garden and 3 bedrooms. I’m so pleased for you and your children.
Just having your own front door, your own bedroom,your own kitchen, to make all the lovely meals you use to and to have it all just before Christmas. You deserve to be proud and happy.
Hopefully your health will improve, by not having all the stress you have gone through!

Hi @ChoccieCornflake , how are you today?Ive spent a few hours doing admin stuff for house and making phone calls and I had a little nap as couldn’t keep my eyes open .
Lol 😂I know and I’m not sure why but everything my youngest made at school it had grains of rice stuck to it! I was forever picking them up off the floor. Worst thing was when we went to the school Christmas fair you could buy more of the decorations that had been made and my youngest always wanted more 😩xx
