Those who believe MN is more leftists, what makes you think so?

Because to me MN has always come off much more right / conservative.

So, if you can point out what makes it so leftist.

Well the initial claim was it was a welcoming thread for all types of views, that people might 'challenge' content but people didn't resort to insult

OK. Maybe should have said we mostly don't insult people (because we don't), but like every other thread on MN there might be the odd exception.

You only insult people who like the pp who is seen to have a political POV which isn't aligned enough to the thread

From what I can tell no one else would deal with the same barrage of insults and just not bother posting on there

What’s the best thing about this thread is that everyone can now see what’s what. People who have denied it don’t like it because the uncomfortable truth is out there in black and white. The behaviour of some of the posters is all there to see.

They can see what’s what except the post containing all the insults has now been deleted

Barbadossunset · 03/11/2024 16:43

Provided they are pro-Labour.

Notonthestairs · 03/11/2024 16:44

@Rummly - apologises for the tag. i genuinely did feel uncomfortable quoting you without mentioning that I had. I enjoy your posts (and occasionally your sarcasm)

They are still out there. Makes a mockery of it doesn’t happen.

The request for examples was a good one, people really didn't see it (some still can't)

Notonthestairs · 03/11/2024 16:45

And now I realise I tagged you a second time Rummly! Sorry!

Do you also follow posters across different threads and then discuss them on the Starmer thread?

Piggywaspushed · 03/11/2024 16:53

For the love of all that is made on the Lord's good heaven and Earth. Make. It. Stop.

Yes I'm sure it's uncomfortable for obvious reasons. Online behaviour like that reflected back.

I don't think I mentioned you by name. But you don't mind having a go at Starmer thread posters across different threads. You certainly posted some less than complementary comments on this thread (or was it another thread?). Again, lots of us are guilty of it. Is it against Talk guidelines?

This is getting personal now. So am going to bow out (and am actually going out, honest!).

Piggywaspushed · 03/11/2024 16:59

What!?

None of that was me.

This is like schoolyard bullies and Mean Girls.

You didn’t have to.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 03/11/2024 17:01

And I have not discussed any posters behind their back.

No one here has engaged in the kind of insults on that thread.

Someone asked for examples and they were provided.

No one as yet has said yeh that's pretty bad as a way to round on someone - fuck off, bot, stupid, whinging, idiot if you want to mention schoolyard bullies and Mean Girls

The list provided looked bad for teenagers let alone adults

PandoraSox · 03/11/2024 17:06

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 03/11/2024 17:01

You insulted our cats! That is far worse 😂

Don’t worry about that! No problems, no apologies needed.

(Don’t ever let anyone on MN know this…but IMO many of the Labourite posters are interesting, clued-up and - now and again - funny. I just wish you’d all stop the Book of Revelations stuff about any Tory being the Anti-Christ.)

Shakeoffyourchains · 03/11/2024 17:30

EasternStandard · 03/11/2024 13:50

The pp has apologised and reposted. Nothing ‘malicious’

@Barbadossunset was asked what she meant and provided the quotes

It’s interesting some people can’t see it still

Edited

Of course it was malicious.

We all know how to use this forum, we all know that it was a deliberate act to copy and paste multiple quotes from different posters, and present it in such a way that it looked like they all came from one specific poster. That doesn't happen by accident.

We can all see that the quotes weren't pleasant but they were from a different posters than the one quoted.

What is more interesting is that you keep saying "they can't see it" while refusing to condemn, or even acknowledged, bullying from your own side, going so far as to minimise and deny it.

pointythings · 03/11/2024 17:32

Actually I've said more or less that on this very thread.

Ytcsghisn · 03/11/2024 17:33

What makes people think MN is leftist?

Gee, I don’t know, the utter lack of knowledge about how the economy works and expecting other people to pay for everything. Then shrieking and equaling when things get worse and wondering why everyone is poorer.

pointythings · 03/11/2024 17:34

I don't think we do. I think most of us would like a competent Conservative Opposition comprising of proper One Nation Tories who genuinely have the best interests of the country at heart. And I'm sure there are a few of them left in the current Party - but we need more of them.

A new list was put up without the error, even after the apology.

I usually post on economics and politics and always do an initial post which is calm. I have no interest in telling people to fuck off, that they are a bot, stupid, or should shut up and other posts on that thread.

I have no doubt I attract some posters who get angry and lash out, you included? It's a pity but it is similar to the list provided.

That list was an eye opener and I assume that's why it was reported by those who felt uncomfortable seeing their online behaviour reflected back.

EasternStandard · 03/11/2024 17:42

Given @Barbadossunset apologised for a mistake has anyone done the same for the posts that were listed?

Who would apologise? And to whom? We don’t know who wrote the posts or who they were addressed to. Or even which specific thread they were on.
