DH is from Northern Ireland and we have toyed with the idea of moving there and having a massive house, but I generally don't think I can cope with the weather

Republic of.

Admittedly nowhere near as major as what England has done to it, but still.

Can you explain how Ireland has abused NI? I don't understand why you are slagging off NI on a thread about the cost of property. It's not like the rest of the UK is issue free.

Secradonugh · 26/10/2024 19:10

Definately over a million. Prob 1.4m

Cantbelieveit888 · 26/10/2024 19:10

Thank you! Read 3 bathrooms as 3 bedrooms!!! 5 bed is alright…. For that size we could get atleast 6/7!

Shame you had that experience. I have lived here from birth and never seen any violence ever

You must be either very young or led a sheltered life.

Wholelotagrey · 26/10/2024 19:10

£350k in my area… Maybe £400k max

Celticliving · 26/10/2024 19:10

At least £2M

Alwayswonderedwhy · 26/10/2024 19:12

Around £800k

Beezknees · 26/10/2024 19:12

Just looked on rightmove and similar 5 bedroom properties in my area are on for around £550k.

Shityshitybangbang · 26/10/2024 19:12

700-800k

deeahgwitch · 26/10/2024 18:54

Where in Dublin would it be worth €3 to €4 million ?
I would have thought max €2.25 million and that would be in D6 or D4.

you can’t really get houses like that in D4 / D6, maybe Merrion or Nutley Road, although smaller and less garden for the €3m mark.

peroid house of that size in D4 D6 are currently going to set you back around the €6m mark.

Blackrock, Foxrock and parts of D14 tend to have the larger, more modern homes, those can easily fetch €2.5-€4m for something significantly less “grand”.

Republic of.

Admittedly nowhere near as major as what England has done to it, but still.

I don't think it's right to say that the country of Northern Ireland (only existed since partition in 1921) has been abused by either England (which has no government or army of its own to do any abuse) or Ireland. The different communities in the six counties have come in for abuse, but that's something else.

And all totally irrelevant to this thread!

TentEntWenTyfOur · 26/10/2024 19:13

From just checking the local area for 5-bed houses on Rightmove, anywhere between £875k and £1.2m.

NeedthatFridayfeeling · 26/10/2024 19:13

Guessing around £1.5mil in my village, it's similar to a couple that recently sold for that price

Hellskitchen24 · 26/10/2024 19:13

I live in the south coast. I don’t live in a particularly desirable area but that would still go for around 1.5 million. Move maybe 5-10 miles down the road and you could add another 500k so 2 million.

Printedword · 26/10/2024 19:14

1.5 mill but I’m basing that on it being in county side near us as there are literally no modern houses like that in town

coxesorangepippin · 26/10/2024 19:14

Depends on the exact area, but around $2 million CAD.

Coolcats24 · 26/10/2024 19:15

High 900s to north of 1 million

Lovelydovey · 26/10/2024 19:15

£1.5mn - suburban London

InfoSecInTheCity · 26/10/2024 19:17

Highly variable, 5 bed 3 bathroom detached houses currently available for anything between £425,000 and £2,500,000

Shoutinglagerlagerlager · 26/10/2024 19:17

In my area (London affluent suburb) 5 bed detached houses are about 5-5.2mil). But this one would be difficult to sell. Would probably be bought for less (under 4 mil) and demolished then replaced with a different style house. That happens a fair bit round here…

TheHighPriestess1 · 26/10/2024 19:18

North Herts anywhere between 950k - 1.5

TentEntWenTyfOur · 26/10/2024 19:18

Just buying that amount of land would set you back well over half a million around these parts. Developers wouldn't bother with just one house on that space either. They'd probably cram in three, maybe even four at a push.
