I’m waiting for them to charge those thugs that kicked off at the police at Manchester Airport.

Any day now….

Tommy Robinson's popularity is only a symptom of cowardly politicians and police not doing their jobs.

Failure to stop grooming gangs and then covering it up, failure to deport criminals and failure to stop the boats.

Case is with CPS to review and make charge decision, like every other similar case where the threshold test isn't met

It's what that mobile phone pin is hiding that the police are interested in. He's been inciting people to all sorts, right wing terror is no different to other sorts of terrorist acts.

If he's got nothing to hide, then he should hand his phone over like a good citizen & get on with his day. But he won't will he, because he's shitting himself over the contents of his phone.

But refusing to provide the pin for your phone is not an act of terrorism. It's possibly obstructing the police but I struggle to see in what context I could be charged with an act of terrorism for refusing to give the police the pin for my phone regardless what may be on it.

I think what the airport thugs did had an impact in terms of the riots as well (which was only a few days before). People seeing them on the news sniveling and playing victim with their lawyer, then the video footage comes out of what they actually did.

Tommy Robinson certainly whipped things up, but he speaks for a lot of people.

Justsayit123 · 26/10/2024 08:38

Maybe they’ll knock some sense into Chris Kaba supporters

Preppercorn · 25/10/2024 18:29

I believe in the rule of law and if he's actually committed a crime and they have credible evidence he should be charged and judged in a court of law like everyone else, otherwise he should be left to speak freely like so many others who say things that other people don't like.

@Preppercorn , Amen to that! We’re treading on dangerous ground when we start along the path of the right’ views and punish people for holding the‘ wrong’ ones.

Dontmeantooffendbut · 26/10/2024 05:23

why because we dont agree with your views l dont see him as a thug in my opinion he speaks the truth every weekend Palestinian marches shouting from the river to the sea and we all know what that means but they can scream what they want so why cant Tommy say what he feels

He has an assault conviction for kicking an off-duty police officer in the head, and one for harassment for stalking a female journalist and threating to falsely accuse a her partner of being a paedophile, (not to mention the various fraud & drug convictions too). Are those not the actions of a thug?

Speaking of paedophiles, when his close friend Richard Price was found guilty of making child pornography, SYL defended him to the hilt, first claiming Price didn't know they were on his computer, then that it was a set up, before finally performing a U-turn when that position become untenable.

Is this really the sort of person you want to associate yourself with? If so, why?

I'm sorry but it doesn't excuse the behaviour we saw. People may be pissed off with what happened at the airport but it doesn't excuse smashing up mosques, beating up random black and Asian people, ripping hijabs off women, setting fire to hotels, stopping non-white people driving down the street. People don't behave like this every time a white thug does something. Where were the riots when Sarah Everard got murdered, or when that man killed his ex girlfriend, her mother and sister with a crossbow, when baby P was tortured to death or when Lucy Letby killed severely babies etc?
People of colour can't be held to account every time a black or Asian person does something bad.

The vast majority of people would condemn all the rioting we saw. Riots don't happen in a vacuum though.

No, but I believe that a lot of people are getting very angry based on misinformation that is being shared online and by the right wing press. I'm not saying there are no issues that need to be addressed. I'm all for open duscussion and scrutiny. However, people are running riot based on a load of misinformation and half truths.
For example, as I posted before we all hate Muslim grooming gangs but the vast majority of grooming gangs are white, the majority of pedophiles are white (according to a Home Office report). Yet we don't see the Daily Mail and Tommy Robinson campaigning against white grooming gangs. Why is that? If Tommy Robinson really cares about the nation's children, why doesn't he care about his mates being pedophiles?
We have to look carefully at the reasons why certain groups are being targeted.

Daisy155 · 26/10/2024 09:19

I can’t believe the amount of people in support of Tommy wow

This country is not the same anymore

Hatfullofwillow · 26/10/2024 09:50

I've never met a racist with a bad word to say about him. If you ignore the fraud, assault, incitement to hate and his foreign financial backers, along with his repugnant personality, he's just the same as any other rightwing knob.

He's probably after another crowd funded holiday in the sun paid for by his gullible supporters.

He does their thinking for them too. You'd have to be pretty lazy in your thinking to swallow the old fascist playbook. Fortunately, he doesn't speak for most people, as evidenced by his supporters being consistently & significantly outnumbered every time they march.

AdviceNeeded2024 · 26/10/2024 10:07

@NeverAgainNelly Sorry yes he’s charged with that but I believe he allegedly was stopped under the Terrorism Act in July at an airport or something and refused to give access to his phone, think it was to do with the riots, so there is a reason why they wanted to look, the police can’t just randomly stop people and demand to look at their phone for no reason if you see what I mean.

Loub1987 · 26/10/2024 10:12

I have a theory that we all just ignored him he would go away. I feel the same about Trump. Wishful thinking really.

Under the updated Prevention of Terrorism Act, they have the power to demand it of anyone in transit through a port, or airport.

The Brazilian boyfriend of a Guardian journalist was stopped a few years ago. He was targeted, they knew he had files to embarrass the Government and some of it was legally confidential. He ended up giving it up.

As a non-white person it doesn’t surprise me at all, there are significant number of incredibly thick racists.

But there has to be a suspicion. I was replying to the poster who asked previously whether if she was stopped for no reason and asked to hand over her phone whether she’d be charged under the terrorism act.

Nope! Especially if they are saying their child is the only white British child in their nursery, yet username suggests they are in Scotland…. Hmm
