Don't argue with the traffic warden on your school run

It made me laugh yesterday as 3 of the Mums driving stupidly big cars received parking tickets outside the school dates. They work on the safety lines that are outside schools and they only live a 7 minute walk from school and also don't work (I know of them). They came out and tried to argue their way out of the tickets saying "what? A parking ticket for dropping my kid off at school?"

I think it serves them right. I've parked on a single yellow near the school in a mega rush so I'm no angel but if you do that you accept that there is a chance you will get a ticket and can't complain if you get one can you!!?

Just made me laugh it was the 4x4 cars from the professional yummy mummies who all got them and then wanted to argue, talk about entitlement! Plus if you have a big car then surely a parking ticket is affordable?! That's part of the illusion of wealth is that you don't care!

Needless to say the areas are clear today so they've learned their lesson, for now at least! X

They’ve been deleting posts completely unprovoked on this entire thread. It seems like anything can be regarded a personal attack these days, it’s extremely strange

I've had two posts deleted that did not contravene guidelines. I was challenging a poster's hypocrisy but I didn't swear, name call and they were completely unthreatening. Wtf is going on?

@MNHQ and @ImaniMumsnet

Can you shed a light on why my posts were deleted? I have been posting in good faith on this thread and a debate has been taking place where a poster (and arguably the OP) has incredibly judgemental towards SAHM. My posts challenged this but there were no direct attacks. Just pointing out hypocrisy. Very interesting.

Change of stance by many social forums and media in general. Our local paper has tightened up considerably.

I don't think of yummy mummies being SAHMs. They might be, but for me, they are well off women in their 30s and 40s with an entitlement problem.

They may well work - in fact when I had a customer service role I disliked working Saturdays because that was when all the yummy mummies came in as they were working in the week.

The head might not have been able to stop her appointment.

Indeed. The head doesn't have a veto on who gets on to the governing board!
