i’ll confess, i think about this alot and slightly worry for the future humans if we make it that long….like why are we not trying to fix this now? develop space travel so we can go find a new home?? Instead we seem intent on destroying each other. We may only have a billion years left to sort this shit out! 😆

I love the idea I heard once, that the universe is just endlessly expanding and contracting. So eventually it will stop it's current expansion, and the edges will come hurtling back together slowly crushing us and all other matter until everything is squeezed into the size of a full stop. And then BOOM, it's another big bang and everything starts all over again from scratch.
I'm not sure on the timescale for this - but most likely several versions of humanity could evolve and then die out beforehand...
