To think that gay and lesbian people should be able to have a conference in peace

nothingcomestonothing · 11/10/2024 19:10

Transactivists have tried to disrupt the LGBA conference by releasing insects into the venue. It's disgusting . Because they don't think gay men and lesbians should be allowed to meet peacefully without them.

No one is stopping transpeople from having events by themselves, why shouldn't gay men and lesbians be able to meet if that's what they want to do? It's just repackaged homophobia - same sex attracted people aren't allowed to have their own conference.

It's a simple yes or no question. So which? That certainly wasn't clear to me.

Yes or no?

I’m not going to repeat myself

Yes or no though?

I think there’s a legitimate debate to be had about how to organise public spaces so that everyone feels safe. That includes trans people. Unfortunately most of the debate on this topic is exceptionally transphobic and starts from a position of transphobia, especially on this site.

So, men who are men but who are desperately and sometimes violently trying to force people to accept that they are women must always have their way, in your view. They must, as a matter of urgency, have access to women's toilets and changing rooms and any dissent is transphobic, in your unusual world view.

That's what it comes down to, isn't it?

Swivelhead · 13/10/2024 20:48

I stand with my gay and lesbian friends. 🏳️‍🌈

Dymaxion · 13/10/2024 20:48

A preference can be racist

Of course it can, it can be fattist, elitist all manner of other 'ist's and 'ics's ' but that doesn't give anyone the right to force that person to have sex with someone they aren't attracted to !
I am neither blue eyed or blond haired by the way and that isn't my preferred type, I just used it as an example. You simply can't make anyone be attracted sexually to anyone they aren't sexually attracted to. Yes that might upset the person who wishes to have sex with them, but honestly, tough, it probably won't even reach the top ten of bad things to happen in their life that week, never mind in their life !

😆 🤣 😂

Is this why you won't answer me? Do you feel you have answered my questions?

You haven't.

I agree with you entirely! As I have stated ad nauseam on this thread

I'm sorry, it's not going to fly that any objections based on other people's conflicting rights are "transphobia". Demonstrate why your beliefs trump most people's, or get a better argument.

Dymaxion · Today 20:48

And that, folxzqbiti++++ is transphobia! Or on normal parlance, coercing someone into sex. There you go, I think I've found the holy grail - one definition of transphobia: believing that coercive sex is a crime.

TheKeatingFive · 13/10/2024 20:52

I just don't understand why @PiggleToes can't clarify yes or no to a straightforward question that they say they've already answered and the also say they definitely aren't dodging

There are many lesbian women who are attracted to trans women.

Well that is an answer @PiggleToes but it doesn’t say anything at all about your opinion on the matter. So you’ve not answered the question 🤷🏻‍♀️

It will be soooo interesting to see if the police charge these brats and the men who are behind this attack.

These kids are being used as useful stooges by 2 prominent and violent trans activists...one of whom frequents this site regularly ....
I believe one of the kids mums was also waiting outside for their child !!!

It beggars belief that these vile people, who claim they are the wronged vulnerable ones, are so desperate to target gays and lesbians ....

Men doing what they have been know to do when they're told 'no' ...they react with violence.

My opinion is that this is not a complete or universal definition of “lesbian” since there are lesbians who are attracted to trans women .

Surely there needs to be a new term for them?

Bilesbians????

The term lesbian is enshrined in law. It's ours and nobody gets to take it from us.

Yes, one of which allegedly (boasted about it) was this guy

https://www.thepublica.com/uk-attempted-murderer-and-kidnapper-who-cut-off-own-testicles-in-prison-incites-violence-against-women-critical-of-gender-ideology-during-trans-pride-rally/

Baker was originally jailed as a young man for kidnapping and torturing the brother of his step-mother. When he was 21, he was then convicted of attempted murder after he broke into the cell of another prisoner and tried to kill them via strangulation. He served over 30 years behind bars in total and is often referred to as the UK’s longest serving transgender inmate.

In December of 2017 while still incarcerated, Baker cut off his own testicles.

I think it’s pretty homophobic to tell a lesbian she’s not a lesbian.

Why do you need to force women to have your view?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/10/2024 21:00

I think it’s pretty homophobic to tell a lesbian she’s not a lesbian.

I think it's even more homophobic to deny the existence of exclusively same sex attracted women (and men)

An Organisation called the LGBA held a conference. People allegedly protested the conference by releasing insects into the conference.
I think everyone on this thread agrees that releasing insects is not acceptable as a protest tactic, however we are debating whether it was legitimate to protest the conference at all. I am arguing that the protest was legitimate because the LGBA is a transphobic organisation with a transphobic mission. Other people are arguing that the LGBA is not transphobic and it is homophobic to protest the conference.

Edited

Thank you. I see the thread has moved on from the insect thing so I'll drop out here as I've got no idea about the rest
