He called a wasp a moron at dinner

Ok, this isn't a serious thread exactly just a weird moment

So I was having dinner with my partner, a very nice outdoor meal. Very romantic and looking into each other's eyes etc.

Then a wasp came along and dropped into his wine. He responded by saying 'get out of there you moron' which caused the couple next to us of stop talking and stare at him then me. He then gave the wasp a small pep talk after rescuing it.

I felt embarrassed as I felt it was a really OTT response! I wanted to say was it really necessary to verbally abuse that wasp but seemed an odd thing to say...it just felt like a very angry response

I used to get really embarrassed by my DF.
I decided to stop looking around and just enjoyed his energy for what it was. It was him and I loved him for it so I just didn’t look about when these moments came.

You're having us on, aren't you? You can't be serious with this? If you're this uptight over such a trivial thing, I don't think you're at all compatible with your partner. Getting this upset over such a small, and I have to say, quite amusing, incident is ridiculous. I would have been laughing my head off at him, especially when he gave it a pep talk! Who the hell cares what other people in the restaurant think? Are you ever going to see any of them again? Probably not. They're nobody to you, so why does it matter what they might think? The couple who looked over might have misheard what he said, mistook who he was calling a moron, but either way, THEY ARE NOTHING TO YOU. So why do you care?

Blimey, this thread has made it onto Reddit and the Mirror online. Not sure what to think ...

If a wasp had the audacity to try & pinch a drink of my wine I'd be calling it worse than a moron.
It's strange you feel so weird about it. The other couple probs thought it was a funny reaction from you partner. If I'd have heard someone talking to a wasp & calling them a moron I'd be having a look over to to see the wasps reaction 😀.

I'd be calling it a cheeky little fucker!
