Illuminati, real or not?

I’ve been seeing a lot of online content about the Illuminati lately.
Does anyone have any first hand accounts of their existence?
So many conspiracies these days, it’s hard to know what to believe.

GIven, this is an anonymous forum I can confirm that it is real, I am a member, you get a monthly magazine and invites to secret meet ups, it's a bit like the NCT but for really rich people. We have heavy links with the Chinese these days. In fact most meeting places are camouflaged as those Chinese herb shops which is why you never see anyone inside.......

Illuminati are just a placeholder for a behind the scenes power that off certain people need to believe in to make sense of the world. Substitute for the Masons, Jews, shapeshifting lizards, Rothschilds, Bilderberg group, Opus Dei, according to your preference. Likelihood is that some of these do exert influence but not one group controlling everything. My money’s on the lizards, using 5G signals and the covid vaccine to prevent us being able to see their true form.

Yeah, but this is exactly the time when those with wonky brains come out of the woodwork. Happens every time. Then they get bored about 3 months after the election, and go into hibernation.

You seem to know an awful lot about "wonky brains" and their hibernation habits. 😂Are you a "wonky brain"? Or perhaps you are some kind of an "expert" on these "wonky brained" people? If so I would be fascinated to know the source of your expertise. Was your source, by any chance, a random man on the telly? 😂😂

The world already is controlled by wealthy powerful people...

This is it, really. Why create some bullshit conspiracy theory when there is an obvious real conspiracy? A few very rich and powerful people (the 0.1%) own the media and fund politicians and lobby groups to control the world and ensure they stay rich and powerful. It’s not the illuminati, it’s capitalism.

EDIT: Which is to say they are not a secret club that meets up to plot global domination. It just happens organically because they all want the same things (low taxation for super rich individuals and big business, restriction of workers rights, free movement of capital but not workers, you know the sort of thing).

MissEsmeWatson · 03/10/2024 22:43

I read books by Robert Anton Wilson years and years ago that had a lot about the illuninati. They made a lot of sense then, and although my views on most things have changed over the years, they still make sense. I don't suppose we'll ever know for sure.

NezumiNezumi · 03/10/2024 20:51

It’s not that far fetched to believe that a group of powerful people are controlling things from behind the scenes.

Fucking hell, have you met people recently?

The vast majority couldn't wipe their arse with an extra hand, so the idea that there's some mysterious cabal of five or six of them running the world is so unlikely it's laughable.

Babadookinthewardrobe · 03/10/2024 22:44

Opus Dei! I forgot about them. Are they the ones who do branding irons?

Beekeepingmum · 03/10/2024 22:44

Rummly · 03/10/2024 22:36

I knew it!

You’re responsible for global warming, the rise of private parking companies and the end of Toffos aren’t you?

Shadowy, malign forces are indeed at work.

Global Warming Yes! The goal is to make Bournemouth more like Cannes.... Primate parking isn't us through - that's the Tories.

The modern Illuminati story is a hoax that started in Playboy magazine, and then got distorted by whatever the online version of the game of "Telephone" is. See https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20170809-the-accidental-invention-of-the-illuminati-conspiracy

(Although of course, if a powerful cabal that secretly runs the world did exist, it would make sense for them to invent stories claiming that they were only a hoax... dun dun dun...)

The accidental invention of the Illuminati conspiracy

The story of how the myth exploded reveals how fake stories spread today and the secrets behind the psychology of their fiercest proponents.

That’s true, we’ll never really know how much of it it’s true, if any.
Besides, MN is not exactly the kind of place where uber rich, influencial people controlling the world hang out.

There are these people who secretly control the world
Do you mean the billionaires and megacorporations who are richer than many countries, are above the law but use it to shut down any scrutiny of their actions and act in concert to manipulate the commodity and currency markets?
No. I mean the ones with the special handshakes. And robes. They have robes.

Primate parking? Good god, it’s worse than I thought. Your lot are creating Planet of the Apes.

I’m off to the preppers board before it’s too late.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 03/10/2024 22:54

I believe in it 100%.

I’m not sure if this anything to do with the Illuminati but it’s strange and fascinating none the less. How many peoples names have a fitting anagram eg.
Ian Bothham…. Oh man I bat.
Clint Eastwood.. Old west action.
Princess Diana.. Ascend in Paris.
Saddam Hussain. UN said he’s mad.
Florence Nightingale.. Angel of the reclining

Satanists = real. Child and human sacrifice = real. These deaths are posed as accidents, or done to a homeless person who won't be missed.

Evidence?

Or just, ya know, bullshit read online.

If this isn't a truly incredible piece of sarcasm then I worry for your sanity.

If it is then, well, bravo!

miniaturepixieonacid · 03/10/2024 23:04

I do think it's interesting that the only religion not compatible with Freemasonry is Catholicism. The Pope has spoken out against Catholics being members

Evangelical Christianity isn't either. Lots of them believe that Freemasonry is Satanic and has negative effects on people and their families that ripple down through generations. There are courses called 'freedom from freemasonry' that aim to break the bonds of masonry through prayer. My grandad was a freemason. I don't know anything about them but he was one of the best people I've ever known and a Christian. People in my church suggested I attend one of these courses as they thought the amount of mental and physical health issues and bereavements in my family were linked to my grandad's membership. I was so angry about it at the time. I believe now that they were being genuinely caring but still don't agree with them.

BoundaryGirl3939 · 03/10/2024 23:05

Many children, and vulnerable adults have testified that they have witnessed this. This is nothing new. No one is going to believe them. And if they do believe them, they're not going to take on the authorities and powerful paedophile rings.

So true, I used to work with a suspiciously secretive and powerful woman called Tina Imulli.

QED.

BoundaryGirl3939 · 03/10/2024 23:09

Unfortunately, I too believe that curses can be passed down. I think it stems from the oaths taken. Many take these oaths not realising what they are saying or handing over.

I heard that there was higher levels of sexual abuse within freemason families (not all families of course). But certain dysfunction tends to run down certain family lines.

The illuminati did exist in the 1700's, but they don't any more.

Conspiracy theorists like drawing connections with anything with the eye of providence symbol on, problem is that is Christian (and even older) iconography that pre dates the real illuminati by at least 100's of years in its triangle framed form.

Ketzele · 03/10/2024 23:12

PifandHercule, the original Illuminati was I think a group of German idealists who wanted to promote Enlightenment ideals back in the 18th century.

But since the publication of the (bogus) Protocol of the Elders of Zion in the early 20th century, which claimed to be proof that a secret Jewish cabal was controlling world affairs, the two have become really entwined in conspiracy theory world.

You don't HAVE to be antisemitic to believe that shadowy elites are secretly imposing a new world government, but wherever you find discussion of the Illuminati you will find talk of Rothschild, Soros, globalists, cosmopolitan elites etc. The myth of the Illuminati is basically the antisemitic songbook.

Oh, and a pp asked about the links to satanism, organised paedophilia etc. I believe that's because antisemitism has also, over the centuries, wallowed in discussions of Jews being demonic (having horns etc) and organising the abduction and ritual sacrifice of Christian children (to use their blood for Pesach matza).

Scorchio84 · 03/10/2024 23:14

Sure that's what the whole of "Raiders Of The Lost Ark" was about & "The Last Crusade" too, it doesn't mean that any of it or "They" have supernatural occult powers, plus it's not like Hitler was a reasonable, well balanced man

The Illuminati is just a another load of Freemasons bullshit only worse because there are actual Freemasons but sadly there's no mystique or witchcraft, it's just a boring gentlemans club who scratch each others backs in return for favours or tickets to The Champions League final
