Illuminati, real or not?

PifandHercule · 03/10/2024 20:33

I’ve been seeing a lot of online content about the Illuminati lately.
Does anyone have any first hand accounts of their existence?
So many conspiracies these days, it’s hard to know what to believe.

It’s not that far fetched to believe that a group of powerful people are controlling things from behind the scenes

Anyone who has ever worked fairly seniorly in government will tell you. No-one is in control. No-one knows what they're doing. The idea that there’s a group of people controlling the whole world is laughable.

It just makes people feel better to think there’s a plan, that SOMEONE is in charge. They’re not

Passivelypresent · 03/10/2024 22:05

I'm not sure. What I do think is, we have witnessed enough in the hands of "obvious power and control" so it's not that far fetched to me. The problem comes from people who believe everything they read in The Sun. The media is controlled by people who have power, to tell us what they want us to know, there are many other sources of information which aren't main stream media. Not to say that it's any more likely to be true, it makes for interesting reading. Some of it is so extreme you think it can't possibly be true. You never know. I usually just accept I never know the actual truth of what really is going on, and take everything from both sides with a pinch of salt.

But usually, if there's money to be had for a situation then its likely to be the other side that's telling the truth.

Sensational headlines and news stories are likely to divert attention away from something else going on alot of the time.

I just find it all very interesting but I do think there are some very dark people/ groups in the world and they aren't the ones you'd likely guess at.

What? The what?

Maybe read a nice bookinstead of going online so much.

😂 That one is so clearly bonkers, no need to question its existence.

It's amusing how the suggestion the late QEII was a shape-shifting lizard is invariably derided as crackpot conspiracy nonsense, yet her, and her descendants are only where they are because nobody questions the notion that they are somehow a specially chosen bloodline granted right to rule by Divinity and just meekly play along with it. Then there are the real weirdos who actually believe they are somehow superior and will gladly grovel at their feet.

Shinydress · 03/10/2024 22:07

My dad was a Freemason in the City, invited in. Loads of bigwigs. He said it was like a boring clubhouse, drinking and raising money for charities. He left.

I think they're all bonkers tbh, but at least that one is entertaining!

Ohnotrobbieagain · 03/10/2024 22:08

I knew a Freemason once, well his wife. They were very nice, very wealthy. I remember I was having difficulty with a colleague at work once (I was young and being bullied) I taught the Freemasons child. The wife was a sort of friend and knew through gossip about this bully and came to see if I was ok, she said if I ever needed anything sorting out in regard to this member of staff, her husband could help out as he had many connections…later a friend told me he was in the Freemasons and a great man but very powerful 🤷🏻‍♀️I was only 24 and had no idea what they were going on about!
What did Tolstoy said about them?

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 03/10/2024 22:11

I thought it was some sort of Italian light fitting, probably used LEDs or something.

DeliciousApples · 03/10/2024 22:12

I thought the new world order ran the place nowadays?

But we are such small insignificant people we don't get our tiny minds involved in such high level stuff.

No, because anybody with half a brain and aged over 14 should already be aware of this.

Congratulations on your superior knowledge!

There's no need for incredibly rich and powerful people to secretly be controlling the world - they are pretty blatantly doing it and there's not an awful lot anyone can do about it! It's called capitalism.

FUBAR77 · 03/10/2024 22:15

Not saying I believe anything, but I do believe if someone would have asked me a few weeks ago if I thought

a) much of the music industry and Hollywood a-listers would be tried for child-rape trafficking and murder

or

b) there is a powerful rich elite we don’t understand controlling more than we know

I know which I would choose (btw for the MNetters that aren’t so much with the compression…b I would have chosen b…)

Babadookinthewardrobe · 03/10/2024 22:16

Congratulations on your superior knowledge!

What they are hinting at so eloquently is that some people believe that the Jewish people are controlling the world and have tied this to the notion of the Illuminati. The idea of the Illuminati itself is not anti-Semitic as such, just some people’s renditions of it are.

Beekeepingmum · 03/10/2024 22:22

GIven, this is an anonymous forum I can confirm that it is real, I am a member, you get a monthly magazine and invites to secret meet ups, it's a bit like the NCT but for really rich people. We have heavy links with the Chinese these days. In fact most meeting places are camouflaged as those Chinese herb shops which is why you never see anyone inside.......

Babadookinthewardrobe · 03/10/2024 22:25

😂

rewilded · 03/10/2024 22:27

You need to watch 'Eyes Wide Shut' Stanley Kubrick. A good film and pretty plausible and Tom Cruise is great!

I remember several decades ago when David Icke was lecturing all over the country and speaking about something called the Bilderberg Group, everybody was saying that it was a figment of his imagination and that he was mad and he'd invented it or dreamed it or whatever.

Then in 1997-ish Tony Blair actually put it down in the Register of members interests, admitting that he had received hospitality from the Bilderberg Group. After that mainstream journalists started writing about it and it became common knowledge.

Turned out everything David Icke said was correct it had indeed been meeting in secret since 1954.

Sorry but this is nonsense. Though the contents of the meetings are closely guarded, the existence of the group has been widely known since at least the 60s. Edward Heath attended when he was PM, back in the 70s, and it was reported on at the time.

ntmdino · 03/10/2024 21:19

Sure it is.

It's not particularly far-fetched to believe that lots of powerful people are controlling lots of aspects of the world from behind the scenes.

The bit that's far-fetched is believing that enough of them have enough common goals to qualify as "a group".

Just look at the evidence: there is no single group that can possibly be benefiting from the chaos in the world, with unstable countries everywhere and economies blasting up and down all over the place.

I mean, if they are controlling everything, they're doing a pretty shit job.

Well any group who profits from selling weapons are going to do well, surely?

CharlotteLightandDark · 03/10/2024 22:33

Honestly nothing would surprise me these days so quite possibly

KlaraSundown · 03/10/2024 22:34

In Hollywood producer Robert Evans' brilliant 1994 memoir The Kid Stays in the Picture, he talks about this strange, unknowable cabal of global industry titans who used to use his home (as it was lovely) to have annual meetings on basically how to divide and run the world.

I think it's been going on for decades now...

From what I gather, there are 33 degrees in Freemasonry. The first few degrees are more about comradery, brotherhood, connections etc. Nicey, nicey. It's when you get higher and move up degrees, that it gets Satanic (so I heard). I think there is alot of blackmailing involved, and perverse sexual activities (again, so I heard).

I do think it's interesting that the only religion not compatible with Freemasonry is Catholicism. The Pope has spoken out against Catholics being members.

I know many here are not Catholics but I thought it was interesting all the same that the organisation and Catholicism just don't mix.

I knew it!

You’re responsible for global warming, the rise of private parking companies and the end of Toffos aren’t you?

Shadowy, malign forces are indeed at work.

BoundaryGirl3939 · 03/10/2024 22:37

Another interesting tidbit is that in Ireland, there were penal laws a few 100 years ago forbidding Catholics from many ownership and business rights. Strangley, some Catholic families flourished during this oppression. Its since come to light that these Catholic families were freemasons so the rules didn't apply to them. All conducted in secret.
