What do I do...except bite the bullet and buy the blooming thing WHICH I will wear and not just on my 60th BIRTHDAY (I'm of the punk generation, except I was more into Rock music). Apart from both of my wedding dresses...I paid for the second one...this "Dandelion Michael Kors Mini Dress" is the most expensive dress I will ever fork out for.!!! However I will wear it on my 60th birthday and beyond...AND...stick it in the washing machine EVEN if the label recommends "dry clean only".

i can justify this amount of money for a mere item of clothing and I will ENJOY wearing it LOTS...and LOTS...and LOTS...and machine washing the blooming thing...Thank you xx

need to see the dress

TENSsion · 30/09/2024 16:57

If you love it this much and you can afford it then buy it. I don’t need to see it for you to justify buying something that clearly will bring you so much pleasure.

Arlanymor · 30/09/2024 16:58

Link needed! But also, if you can afford it then why not? Only make sure you try it on first if it’s a big financial investment.

Connected1 · 30/09/2024 16:59

Yes, show us the dress!
I googled it and just got lots of random Michael Kors dresses

Seriestwo · 30/09/2024 17:00

Happy birthday.

show us the dress

Same, and the pricing so different! Same dress went from £90 to £320!

MonsteraMama · 30/09/2024 17:03

Happy birthday! Absolutely buy the dress, I treated myself to my first expensive dress for myself for my 30th (more than my wedding dress 🙃) and I'll never regret it because I love the bloody thing.

Also please show us the dress!

Newterm · 30/09/2024 17:04

Buy it. No doubt

SensibleSigma · 30/09/2024 17:05

Think it has to be this. The other dress in dandelion is a midi.

Buy it. But also we need to see it. Not to judge whether you should buy it - you like it and you can afford it, so just do it - but because I’m intrigued now.

TinkerTiger · 30/09/2024 17:07

Buy it

SummaLuvin · 30/09/2024 17:08

is it something you can rent? I did that with a fabulous Clio Peppiatt mini for my birthday this year since I knew I wouldn't get enough wear out of such a sparkly party dress to drop £2000 on buying it

EnhancedVampireEyeballs · 30/09/2024 17:13

Do you like it, you'll wear it, you can afford it. So just buy the dress and enjoy wearing it.

looks like a £30 thing from New Look or ASOS.

LissaGa · 30/09/2024 17:24

I love the colour. If it is going to bring you joy and not send you deep into debt, then buy it, wear it and enjoy it.

Sia8899 · 30/09/2024 17:26

Is it this one? Looks more punky than the one upthread

perhaps in a still image. I haven't seen the dress in person so can't vouch for it, but the quality of fabric, workmanship, and pattern cutting will make the difference with designer items and tend to be more apparent in the flesh. New Look will cut their dress patterns to be the most cost effective in terms of construction and fabric wastage. Micheal Kors will cut a pattern with how it drapes and fits on the body as the top priority.

I turned 60 in March and bought myself a dress from Toast that was £155 and a £45 cardi from White Stuff to wear with it. That's the most I've ever spent on a dress but those were the only birthday gifts I got so I feel no guilt. I know I'll wear the dress a lot through winter.

Birdscratch · 30/09/2024 17:29

If you love it don’t machine wash it!

Josette77 · 30/09/2024 17:33

If you love it take care of it!

Why would you wreck it by machine washing ? You won't get much wear of it then.

ChishiyaBat · 30/09/2024 17:36

Buy the dress and enjoy it! Happy 60th to you too!

Josette77 · 30/09/2024 17:38

Oooh that is really cute! I'd wear that. Very 1960's.

Yeah, me too. Seen this style appearing on a few mid range brands (about £200-300 mark) and been very tempted.
