I'm in a newish job and need to fill in expenses for the first time. I'm owed about £300 for taxis for September.
Can I get the bloody thing to attach my receipts no i cannot. Just spent the last hour trying to do it. Arghhhhhh!
I actually miss Concur.
I think i hate this more than MS project and that's saying a lot.
What's piece of software/work equipment do you hate?

Agree also on the ADP!!! Nightmare

Another one for teams. I can use the general calling, screen sharing and chat functions but some of the other stuff is so confusing! I’m an excel person and that suits me so much more. Also when I’m on a teams call my system goes insanely slow so I literally can’t do anything other than sit and watch/listen to the call which is annoying when it’s one of those that you could just carry on working through.

CluelessAboutBiology · 27/09/2024 21:58

I struggled enough with the basic Teams functions then, like @twohotwaterbottles workplace, IT enabled EVERYTHING. What is the point of the shared planner thingy when it doesn’t seem to help with anything? Trying to edit a shared document on it is nigh on impossible, so I have to download it, work on it then upload it again.

I still can’t understand OneDrive. Or is it One Note?

The worst of all is Total Finance. Totally Effing Useless Finance, more like. If you think Integra is bad, Total is a worse version of what Integra was twenty years ago.

However, I feel I should stick up for SharePoint. I spent a few years cursing it, then a helpful person from IT added some extra fields which made it useable. Changed jobs so haven’t used it for a while, doubt I can remember how, now!

DaisyDukesAuntie · 27/09/2024 22:00

Teams

Ok for video calls but don't be sending me bastard messages, adding documents to channels you have added me to, tagging me in posts. Grrrr. I have enough trouble keeping on top of my emails.

The people who thought Microsoft would inject us with chips to control our brains via the COVID vaccine. If these people had ever used MS Teams or outlook they would know how ridiculous this is.

I do like onenote yet that's the one piece of software they seem to want to get rid of.

Grin

Yes, and why is every iteration of Word even worse than the last

Garlictest · 27/09/2024 22:04

<hides> I like MS Office. Except New Outlook, which seems to get more stupid every time it gets prettier. I have been using Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint since the beginning, though, so I've grown with them. They're all amazing but there should be a MISS (make it simple, stupid!) option for users who just want the basics.

I thought Sharepoint had been retired! It should have been! Don't like any of the Google office apps, but that's probably because they're dumber and uglier versions of the Microsoft ones.

Aaand ... all and any 'project management' software. I set myself to learning them a few years ago. Spent the whole time growling "What the FUCK?!!" and "But why haven't they allowed for ...?" followed by "Clearly designed by a twenty-something twerp whose only experience of work projects was in his practical term at some 'agile' software firm 😡"

My deepest sympathies to anyone who has to fit their actual, real-life work into one of those systems.

I am just not a fan of sharing, full stop. I liked the old way where I had my stuff in my folders, and I produced a document the way I wanted to and then sent a copy to other people so they could look at it. Not mess with it, or start adding things before I’ve even finished it. Drives me round the bloody bend.

Yes yes yes

PhilsMajicHat · 27/09/2024 22:22

Who ever designed ms forms has a special in hell waiting for them, all the fucking conditions if you need it to send to different people, and if you change/add a question to the form you have to go an update 8 billion conditions in the power app flow 🤯 and if you try to copy paste it doesn’t keep the formatting. Hate it

Omg this. Absolute cunt of a thing.

Yes - and you think you've given access to everyone who needs it, only to find you haven't, and loads of access requests start arriving in your inbox.

MaryLennoxsScowl · 27/09/2024 22:29

Is new Outlook the version where you search by the name of the colleague who emailed you yesterday, and it pulls up three possible options: an email from that person sent ten years ago (which it got out of your archive folder that neither you nor IT can access when you want something); an email by someone else with a name starting with the same letter; and the draft email you began to the correct person that only says ‘Hi X’ on it?

Corliss98 · 27/09/2024 22:43

I don’t mind Teams but I hate Sharepoint. It’s like a skip and I can’t seem to find anything.

I’m glad other people hate word as I find it massively complicated.

And you try to narrow the field for it, make its job that little bit easier, by selecting a particular folder for it to search in, only for it to revert stubbornly to 'this mailbox' every time.

garlictwist · 27/09/2024 22:46

SnapdragonToadflax · 27/09/2024 15:38

SharePoint. It just doesn't work! So clunky, takes ages to open and I hate how it looks.

New Outlook, which seems to have decided to get rid of all the useful functionality we took for granted. I've actually reverted in the hope they fix it before we're forced to use it.

And Teams, but more how people use it. It's great for chats and ongoing conversations between groups of people. But please, please... DO NOT assign work in it! Because I see it once, and that's it - gone, never to be seen again because stuff just piles on top and the task functionality is useless. Just use email!

I do like Word and Confluence though. I use them all the time and am pretty good at getting them to do what I want.

This. I end up copying and pasting messages l get on Teams chats and emailing them to myself as otherwise I will just forget I've seen it and not do the task.

Toseland · 27/09/2024 22:46

The only thing good about Teams is the ability to send much larger files than Outlook.
Also my laptop's automatic lockscreen after 15 minutes of inactivity, which then needs a password, drives me nuts. I work from home, in my own quiet office - IT won't remove it for 'security reasons'?!

ALunchbox · 27/09/2024 22:48

I agree with SharePoint. I can never find anything in it. Noone in the team can. We are told every time to bookmark this and that page. I have a ton of bookmarks now.

Not hugely keen in Teams and Outlook but can live with them.

I don't know if it's age or what but I feel everything is so messy. I need structure, folders and sub folders.

Weduc- I'm yet to work out how to fill in a form on the app.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 27/09/2024 22:50

It's a toss up between Sheets and Docs. The entire brief must have been 'take the bits of word and Excel that people like and throw them away, make sure that unimportant things like numbers and formatting never match - and then add in the ability for somebody else to start fucking around with your stuff whilst you're wishing that the big bosses had agreed to get 365'.

Kind of defeats the object when to actually do what you need, you end up downloading copies so they can be edited/made functional in an old version of Word or Excel.

DadJoke · 27/09/2024 22:51

Printers which decide for themselves when they have run out of ink.

NotMeNoNo · 27/09/2024 22:55

OneDrive. Where even is it? Is it on my pc or isn't it?
In construction, we have the joy of Projectwise. It hates me too but the feelings mutual.

I don't know where it is, but if you download a document, it never saves into One Drive with all your created documents. It saves it onto a local drive, in some obscure, deeply nested folder with an indecipherable name, so you end up having to redownload it just to establish the lengthy file path needed to find it again.

OrangeWire · 27/09/2024 23:03

Another vote for confluence. I don’t actually
mind Teams, but I refuse to use the task assigning function and ignore anything that is sent to me 😁

can’t believe nobody has mentioned bloody bastard ParentPay yet!!

SocksAndTheCity · 27/09/2024 23:03

I like Excel but despise Sheets, and I won't use anything whose name starts with a lower case 'i'. Onedrive I can just about navigate.

Google fuck about with everything they gave us which was useful and good though, which is why I'm still hanging onto an ancient laptop that has Picasa on it.

stockpilingallthecheese · 27/09/2024 23:04

So many of you sound like you need a decent document management system 😆

I hate my home printer. Sack of shit. Never works, until randomly in the middle of the night it will start printing something I tried to print three weeks ago
