I'm in a newish job and need to fill in expenses for the first time. I'm owed about £300 for taxis for September.
Can I get the bloody thing to attach my receipts no i cannot. Just spent the last hour trying to do it. Arghhhhhh!
I actually miss Concur.
I think i hate this more than MS project and that's saying a lot.
What's piece of software/work equipment do you hate?

Hate workday, but prefer hibob
hate teams, prefer slack & google meet
hate concur, prefer spendex
hate carlson wagonlit, prefer Trainline/ booking.com etc
Don’t mind the latest cloud version of jira, excel, google sheets, word or google docs

watchingsmurfs · 27/09/2024 20:25

Home printer. Qualifies as work equipment as I am a hybrid worker. I refuse to engage with it any longer.
Followed closely by the Authenticator app. Unbearable thing.

teuio · 27/09/2024 20:35

notion it’s the worst, I yearn for atlassian Jura and confluence even though I used to hate them, notion is worse

supersonicginandtonic · 27/09/2024 20:53

Hate Workday
Hate share point
Hate Teams
Hate the stupid Authenticator app
Hate Illy

Basically everything I use at work 😂

Actually, I see your Teams and raise you a SharePoint

Is it the same programme as teams? No one knows. It seems to hold files that you put on teams but has them elsewhere. What we do know is that you will never ever be able to understand who has permission to see anything on it.

Oh my God I hate SharePoint! I swear things move around as well. I’ve never found the same thing in the same place two times in a row.

I don’t hate it as much as I hate Teams though. It doesn’t matter what your availability status is; people seem to think that their message means you have to drop everything to reply. And I can’t even mute the bloody thing because my manager complains that she can’t get hold of me to ask me things she could see on a spreadsheet if only she could be bothered to look. I miss the days you could work in peace and ignore stupid emails until you’d finished all your urgent stuff, and ignore calls from certain colleagues because they couldn’t tell if you were logged on or not. I have several for whom that little red button means I’m free for a catch up.

I've embraced the do not disturb button. Try and call me? It won't even notify me you've rung - it just automatically rejects your call. Bloody brilliant way of actually getting half an hour of peace to get shit done.

Belovedinfidel · 27/09/2024 21:03

Oracle, Canvas and one of our in-house created programmes.

user friendly my arse.

FUCKING MICROSOFT TEAMS!!!!
😡😡😡😡😡😡

Jeeeez this. It has actually made me want to leave my job. EFFIN PILE OF COUNTER INTUITIVE SHITE!!!!! Arrrrgghhhhj

Colinswheels · 27/09/2024 21:09

New Outlook is horrendous, I've switched back to the previous version and will remain there until I'm forced to upgrade.

Also recently upgraded SharePoint, I didn't mind it previously but now it seems previously easy tasks are virtually impossible.

Onedrive is completely unintuitive.

TheHateIsNotGood · 27/09/2024 21:09

Microsoft. I do not want to upgrade my laptop because my currently perfectly working laptop is deemed by Microsoft to be no longer capable of running your 'latest' version.

And yes, whilst I do think that Word and Excel are two of the most useful inventions since 'sliced bread', I also do feel that It's a bit of a reach to ask me to pay an annual subsription just to effing well use it like I did before.

And no. I do not wish to automatically share my MS documents nor have them automatically be double-saved into the 'cloud' without me having to fuck about with the settings.

What are you using it for?

I just use it for calls and chats.

I would love to embrace that button, and would do so happily if it weren’t for my manager complaining about my communication not being great when she wants to tell me about something I don’t need to know about for at least a month. Well no shit Sherlock, you’ve given me something that needs my total concentration with a five hour deadline. It’s infuriating.

MyBirthdayMonth · 27/09/2024 21:12

One of the joys of retirement is that I no longer need to engage with Microsoft anything. I love my iMac and hope I won't outlive it.

HenryCavillsPerfectTeeth · 27/09/2024 21:13

Edge (not the browser. Some weird IBM thing) iKnow, greenway, pivotal and lotus notes.

Berga · 27/09/2024 20:04

MS Project can go fuck itself.

New outlook can join it.

Jira can fuck off and then when it gets there it can fuck off some more.

Actually laughing out loud at this. I mean I agree but I think hysteria has kicked in 😭😂

twohotwaterbottles · 27/09/2024 21:21

@GuPuddingRamekinHoarder agreed Teams is decent for online meetings. However the local authority where I work has decided to dump every conceivable thing that was ever discussed in there. I am added to multiple 'teams' daily, can't find a f*ing thing, they restrict some teams to just some people so it's impossible to do a joint piece of work either my team members. It overwhelms me and I can't find feck all. I could go on but I'm boring myself now 😭😂

Oh that does sound awful!

I keep getting asked to join Slack at work, is that any better?

CrushingOnRubies · 27/09/2024 21:24

Just Ben introduced to the horrors of Sharepoint it's awful

Printers are cyborgs. They sense panic and passive aggressive and narcissistic

letstrythatagain · 27/09/2024 21:28

AnnPerkins · 27/09/2024 15:21

Two words.

New. Fucking. Outlook.

I hate it and it hates me. We are in a mutual fight to the death.

Agree! I keep using the old version at the moment but know at some point it'll be switched off 😕. I HATE the new version!

HowardTJMoon · 27/09/2024 21:32

I think I've developed Stockholm Syndrome with Teams. I know it sucks, and its search function annoys me on a daily basis, but I can't help but remember that it was ten times worse a few years ago. Now if only I could train my team members the difference between replying to a message in a channel, and creating a new message in that channel, I could probably live with its other gross deficiencies.

Letsnotargue · 27/09/2024 16:55

My work Android phone. I have a personal iPhone and I just can’t work Android - I can’t even sensibly text or email on it. And it needs updating/upgrading all the flipping time and none of the ‘how to’ guides work. It’s the bane of my life.

At work we use Google rather than Microsoft and although it was initially a shock to the system I vastly prefer it to Teams and all its over-complications. It’s simple and easy to find stuff, and that’s all I need.

Totally agree with this!! I have the same issues

user1496146479 · 27/09/2024 21:39

Day99 · 27/09/2024 17:16

Outlook. Impossible to search anything! And Teams. Also, Concur especially travel booking - has it have any new features in 15 years?

Edited

No it's still as crap as ever!

Phineyj · 27/09/2024 21:40

At my work we do expenses on a piece of paper, the line manager signs it and it goes in a box. An actual box. It works!

Mind you we are teachers so buy most things ourself anyway and do daily battle with Microsoft shit AND an proprietary database that's actually worse than SIMS.

My personal bugbear is the software a charity I deal with often uses. SpeedAdmin. Reader: it is not.

Hidingthegoodchocolate · 27/09/2024 21:41

bluecomputerscreen · 27/09/2024 19:55

yes to sharepoint

and ai assist that takes over what you want to write and you have to disable it and start again. like having a toddler 'helping' with cooking.

The toddler analogy is PERFECT.

Can I add ADP payroll software? It might actually end me.

MoleAtTheCounter · 27/09/2024 15:04

ArcGIS. Not remotely intuitive and woeful help. So often I get stalled in it and pray for a YouTube video. I love Word and Teams in comparison.

You've got to get on ArcPro baby, a whole new set of bugs and chaos but at least you can Google stack overflow it.
We've got ESRI techs in house and even they don't understand its mysterious ways half the time 😂

Having said that, I would happily spend all day every day on Pro just to avoid the dumpster fire that is Sharepoint.
