I'm in a newish job and need to fill in expenses for the first time. I'm owed about £300 for taxis for September.
Can I get the bloody thing to attach my receipts no i cannot. Just spent the last hour trying to do it. Arghhhhhh!
I actually miss Concur.
I think i hate this more than MS project and that's saying a lot.
What's piece of software/work equipment do you hate?

One of the great joys of being retired is no longer having to learn a new program/piece of software every other week.

coxesorangepippin · 27/09/2024 15:14

Displaying laptop to multiple screens

Extend/display

Argh.....

coxesorangepippin · 27/09/2024 15:14

Our expenses system is worse, I’ve basically calculated that for less than about £100 it’s not worth the stress of trying to submit anything

^

This

It's more trouble than what you earn per hour!

FUCKING MICROSOFT TEAMS!!!!
😡😡😡😡😡😡

Absolutely hate MS Teams. It's great for having a video call, but I can't keep track of all my chats, and can never find a document again once it's been filed on Teams.

Jira. The bastard.

THIS

SomethingFun · 27/09/2024 15:19

I see someone said Jira and I raise you Confluence - I think they are both made by Atlassian and I literally have no idea why software companies have to work with such god awful software. Also workday is terrible I agree.

EmoIsntDead · 27/09/2024 15:20

SEEMIS. Pile of shite.

AnnPerkins · 27/09/2024 15:21

Two words.

New. Fucking. Outlook.

I hate it and it hates me. We are in a mutual fight to the death.

redalex261 · 27/09/2024 15:21

Bastard Sharepoint! Probably works fine in some organisations, but due to the stupid security restrictions in my govt. dept I have to carry out convoluted processes to do simple things managed easily with previous secure server thingy (make no pretence at understanding the workings under the hood, but usually can follow instruction! ) Now it’s a shit show😡😡

SunnyHedgehog · 27/09/2024 15:22

I'm a teacher and I've yet to find a decent student information system- SIMS is my nemesis!

NoOneKnowsWhoYouAre · 27/09/2024 15:25

We changed from Selenity expenses which worked beautifully to Easy Expenses and IT IS ANYTHING BUT EASY!!!!!!!!!!

cadburyegg · 27/09/2024 15:26

Not a fan of Sharepoint either and am having to use it more and more often. Just isn't intuitive imo.

Audacity is another one - audio editing software that looks like it's from Windows 98. No budget for Audition in my current role though. 😩

Crazyeight · 27/09/2024 15:26

Actually, I see your Teams and raise you a SharePoint

Is it the same programme as teams? No one knows. It seems to hold files that you put on teams but has them elsewhere. What we do know is that you will never ever be able to understand who has permission to see anything on it.

Echobelly · 27/09/2024 15:26

Excel - I've never had to use it for anything other than presenting some info but I don't understand why it does some things so randomly. Like why will it sometimes wrap text when you ask it to, but sometimes not?

I had too much time on my hands in my last job and used some of it to take some data skills courses about excel should I want to apply for research jobs but honestly trying to transform data with excel just made me want to tear my hair out, I do not understand how people can remember all the steps to do things and spent half the time driving myself mad because things weren't working as I hadn't realised I'd missed step 7 of 22 (or that's what it felt like).

This is why I do not do jobs that need excel data analysis.

Oh god, yes, fucking share point. Stupid twatty thing.

Chickenwing2 · 27/09/2024 15:29

Workday is the worst system I have ever used.

DramaAlpaca · 27/09/2024 15:29

The antiquated software used in my university for raising purchase orders and claiming expenses. User friendly it's not.

The system HR makes us use for submitting and approving timesheets. Also rubbish.

Steppered · 27/09/2024 15:34

ALL OF THEM but especially excel, sharepoint, multiple authenticator apps, and especially shitting useless ConneX

Echobelly · 27/09/2024 15:36

Oh yeah, and Sharepoint ... just....why?!

SnapdragonToadflax · 27/09/2024 15:38

SharePoint. It just doesn't work! So clunky, takes ages to open and I hate how it looks.

New Outlook, which seems to have decided to get rid of all the useful functionality we took for granted. I've actually reverted in the hope they fix it before we're forced to use it.

And Teams, but more how people use it. It's great for chats and ongoing conversations between groups of people. But please, please... DO NOT assign work in it! Because I see it once, and that's it - gone, never to be seen again because stuff just piles on top and the task functionality is useless. Just use email!

I do like Word and Confluence though. I use them all the time and am pretty good at getting them to do what I want.

LoobyDoop2 · 27/09/2024 15:40

I am just not a fan of sharing, full stop. I liked the old way where I had my stuff in my folders, and I produced a document the way I wanted to and then sent a copy to other people so they could look at it. Not mess with it, or start adding things before I’ve even finished it. Drives me round the bloody bend.

NewNameNoelle · 27/09/2024 15:53

How I hate Workday.

Really do wonder how it is possible to design such a truly awful piece of crap

terracottafarm · 27/09/2024 15:54

Workday, google sheets, excel everything lol

Marmite27 · 27/09/2024 15:56

I concur with Jira and teams, and will also add Monday.com and iKnow (or iDon’tBloodyKnow as it should actually be called!)

Unescorted · 27/09/2024 16:02

I see I have been beaten to SharePoint. Trying to retrieve a URL for a spreadsheet to feed into PowerBI is near on impossible.
