I'm in a newish job and need to fill in expenses for the first time. I'm owed about £300 for taxis for September.
Can I get the bloody thing to attach my receipts no i cannot. Just spent the last hour trying to do it. Arghhhhhh!
I actually miss Concur.
I think i hate this more than MS project and that's saying a lot.
What's piece of software/work equipment do you hate?

The system on handsets that we use to do code checks at work. It buffers, kicks you out, loses communication with the sticker printer and when change a roll of stickers, sometimes the printer doesn't print the rest. So waste time in rebooting printer, signing onto the system, swap printers etc.

Must waste about 30 mins a day doing this. Over a year its just over 3 weeks!

Day99 · 27/09/2024 17:16

Outlook. Impossible to search anything! And Teams. Also, Concur especially travel booking - has it have any new features in 15 years?

Scautish · 27/09/2024 17:17

I fucking LOVE excel. It is awesome.

if I’m overwhelmed I’ll find something to do on it to calm me.

teams is shit with all of its channel nonsense.

Danikm151 · 27/09/2024 17:19

Has anyone mentioned citrix yet?

fucking annoying- always dropping out

VerityUnreasonble · 27/09/2024 17:22

Oracle. Which I am almost certain is designed deliberately to prevent me from purchasing anything.

PuppyMonkey · 27/09/2024 17:23

Corel Draw is a particular twat.

BestIsWest · 27/09/2024 17:26

I haven’t used Citrix in a few years @Danikm151 but the pain of being called with some problem or other at 3am and Citrix not letting me in or dropping out will live with me for ever.

ntmdino · 27/09/2024 17:26

Teams. The most useless, unstable junk excuse for a piece of software that I've ever encountered...and that's from someone who had to use Slack and Zoom.

EDIT: Also, printers. How on earth we've arrived at a place where my 3D printer is more reliable than my printer-printer is utterly beyond me.

Auburngal · 27/09/2024 17:30

Kronos the system where we check schedules, book annual leave etc. If you want to book a week off, you need to book each individual date and there is a scrolling system to get to the date, not a type in a date.

In order to get the app on phone, you need to download it via the employer's intranet which is annoying on a phone.

Though it has one advantage - that you can book up to a year in advance. Say you wanted 29th Sept off next year - you have to wait to the date is passed this year - so can request it off from anytime from 30th Sept. As previous system it was a pen and paper job in January (holiday year is March - Feb) and couldn't book off the odd day off a few weeks before.

TheNestedIf · 27/09/2024 17:46

Another one who loathes macs, which I have to use for work. The one I've got likes to change the keyboard layout back to default when it thinks I'm not looking. Almost got my password locked a couple of times because I thought I was typing @ when I was actually typing ". The support desk don't try to fix them if there's a problem, either, they just swap them out, which means a trip to the office and having to set up all the software again.

Lurleene · 27/09/2024 17:53

Dynamics. I've been using it for over a year and still need to refer to the how to guides because it just doesn't make sense. It makes me feel stupid and I don't like that.

SisyphusDad · 27/09/2024 17:54

Forget patios to hide bodies. SharePoint is the recommended solution. Once something goes in to it, it'll never be found again!

FUCKING MICROSOFT TEAMS!!!!
😡😡😡😡😡😡

I like Teams, but can’t stand Zoom

Came here to say the wireless printer, I just want wire ones back and for them to work!!!

Yes I agree, funny that AI is going to take over the world but the development of a reliable printer still hasn't happened!

Goldenbear · 27/09/2024 18:02

On Printers I have moved office and even IT can't seem to install my new printer, I've waited three weeks so far whilst helpdesk figure it out.

BestIsWest · 27/09/2024 18:21

I was forced to use a Mac in my last job against my will. To my surprise I loved it so much that when I left I went and bought myself one.
The keyboard is terrible though. I had to Google how to find the # every single time. Eventually I put it in a document and used to cut and paste it.

Greenfingersorangetoes · 27/09/2024 18:28

Microsoft 365 which is nothing like the desktop versions of the programmes and nothing translates from one to the other in terms of usability.

StrawberrySquash · 27/09/2024 18:34

SharePoint. Just give us network drives. Nothing bloody syncs properly.

CreepyDibillo · 27/09/2024 18:36

It's a bit niche, but CORNERSTONE is the bane of my bloody life. Unfortunately critical to my day to day. Nobody in our organisation likes it, everyone moans about it...WHY ARE WE STUCK WITH IT???

Ginmonkeyagain · 27/09/2024 18:39

Another vote for Workday. The HR system straight from Satan's bum.

Completing an expense claim on it recently was so painful. I realised after much swearing and wondering why my claim it wouldn't submit it would accept London, I had to scroll thorough to find the "right" London to state where the journey I was claiming from started. There were a million different options.

Seeing as we are a (UK) London based organisation whose staff mainly live in and travel from London you think our version would be set up guys to autocomplete as - you know - London, the OG London - major UK based world city. But not. You have to scroll through tons of "London, Buttfuck Arizona" to find the right one.

TheDandyLion · 27/09/2024 18:43

Workday can get in the bin and I say that as SysAdmin. I can confirm it's as shit on the back end as it is on the front end. I work with a different HR system now but it's only a little bit less shit than Workday.

LammasEve · 27/09/2024 18:46

Software is generally fine.

It's the end users who are 99.999% of the problem! 😁

kab89 · 27/09/2024 18:47

In GP practices: SystmOne is vile.
