I'm in a hotel bedroom peacefully having a cup of tea. Or was.... the couple in the room next door have just started having noisy sex. And the walls are thin. Lots of huffing, puffing, moaning and groaning.

AIBU to think sex noises sound utterly ridiculous 🙄

Probably a society thing as women quickly realised they need to stroke their men’s egos by making noises… pretty sure it’s not a mammal thing (though happy to be corrected as am not googling animal sex noises thanks!)

Maybe the male grunting and animal noises were at a pitch too deep and manly to make it through the wall/be heard by human ears? Or the woman was operating solo with something battery-powered?

Can you really not think of anything worse than silent sex? You must have lived a very sheltered life.

All I hear is thumping headboards and creaking mattress from next door . That's why we do it on the floor 😂

I think in a hotel or whatever part of the thrill of being loud is so that others can hear which is gross.

We've got three kids so if we are in a hotel it's the only opportunity we get to have sex where it's not rushed, under the covers and relatively quiet.

Having said that I don't put on a performance or a display. Huffing puffing and groaning is normal for sex no?

This isn't really an answer, but we'd gone to a hotel this year and we've only just checked into our room so it was early afternoon and for some reason I was in my 18-year-old sons room we heard sex noises in the room next door and I was so embarrassed I kind of dived under the bed because I didn't wanna look at him while I could hear sex noise and then we felt like we couldn't go out of the room because we might bump into the people coming out of their room because it was obviously just a quickie, so we ended up staying in there, me under the bed for a while until it died down then we ran out furtively to join the other children

I wouldn’t want to do this. You could then open your door to find a family with young children standing there open mouthed, thinking it was you making all the ridiculous noises.

My friend was in a bed and breakfast having breakfast. The people next to her finished their Full English and headed upstairs. Within a few minutes there were very loud sex noises coming from the room above!

Sex is all very silly if you break it down. Funny noises. Pulling faces. Contorting like a game of Twister.

My neighbours were very loud on occasion. My husband and I discovered, by accident, that if we started giggling loudly it seemed to put them off.🤣🤣🤣
