Went on a blind date on Friday night, nice looking guy, tall (6 ft 6) and handsome in a rough looking way, we got on very well and he liked me a lot, in fact he told me yesterday in a phone conversation, that when he saw me come across the pub car park he was blown away! but i didnt like his shoes and its really putting me off him....

In my effort to not let this affect my perception of him, i agreed to go out with him again yesterday for lunch, in hope he would be wearing better shoes.....

His shoes were not as bad this time, but not great either, and i didnt like his t-shirt...wtf is wrong with me, i know IABU, why am i being so fussy when i cant afford to at my age!

Can i take him shopping for new shoes??

Come on then... tell us... why was it such a big mistake to accept that second date??

zippitippitoes · 26/04/2008 10:57

oh no what happened

VinegarTits · 26/04/2008 11:02

Well basically, he wore the same clothes he did last week, only even worse shoes!

themoon66 · 26/04/2008 11:07

Oh is that all... thuought you were gonna tell us he'd turned into Mr Hyde or something.

VinegarTits · 26/04/2008 11:07

I dont know why i thought he might have made a little bit more of an effort this time, and the hankie came out again, and he still had not cleaned his car, it smelled even worse!

I actually told him it smelled, he said he had been using it to take rubbish to the tip! he said he meant to clean it but didnt get the time.

Oh this is revolting. Can you imagine what it would be like to live with a man like this? It would only get worse. Maybe it is worse and this is him making an effort .

Are you seeing him again?

VinegarTits · 26/04/2008 11:10

same clothes as last week though, and a car that smelled like the inside of my wheely bin! its bad enough. I had to hold my nose while sitting in it, just wanted to go home there and then.

never mind

this thread has made me intend to clean my car lol

probably before next weekend as it is full of soil and junk from going to the tip

and we are using it for camping next weekend

johnso · 26/04/2008 11:17

You can always change his shoes when you are further into the relationship.
Maybe make a joke about it if you feel comfortable enough
Personally, if I liked the man the shoes wouldn't put me off

VinegarTits · 26/04/2008 11:17

He must collect them. I also found out that he smokes, i went to the bar and he disappeared outside and come back stinking of cigarettes, he told me he smoked.

Not that smoking is a crime of course, but im a non smoker and it is one of my pet hates, i cant stand the smell of it.

themoon66 · 26/04/2008 11:19

The smoking would kill it stone dead for me I'm afraid

zippitippitoes · 26/04/2008 11:20

in twelve months youd probably find out he was married

VinegarTits · 26/04/2008 11:24

Johnso i am very fussy yes, he is a nice person and will probably make some girl (who is not so shallow about shoes) very happy one day.
