To ask how long can you all keep it tight before you need a blow out?

Coatsoff42 · 18/09/2024 22:44

Only because after a whole Sumer of keeping it tight and responsible and the return to school stuff I am ready to drop the plough and cut loose. It feels like long enough.

An I unreasonable to say there is a limit on how long you can be good and work hard before you go mad?

You’re not the only one, OP. I love my monthly night out with the girls, just getting dressed up and not looking like I’ve been dragged through a bush is great! Even if for only one night.

Let loose. Let go of the tightness my luv 😝🕺🥂😎

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 18/09/2024 23:14

Just bang out a cheeky half marathon and I’m ready to go again.

LeavesOnTrees · 18/09/2024 23:15

Having reread I think I get you

Go for it ! Go out and have fun. Is there someone who can look after the DC ?
Maybe a whole weekend away will do you good. Everyone needs to let off steam sometimes.

JudgieJudie · 18/09/2024 23:16

'Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play
And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off

I totally hear this.

Though I'd probably go a bit wickerman and cause a scandal or two in the process.

I think I'm very overdue a singsong and a scrap.

Like singing in public and a big fucking row with someone. just the opposite of my everyday super well behaved persona.

I think you either get this one or you don’t 😂

Biggirlnow · 18/09/2024 23:25

I feel the need for alone time, but I never want to go out clubbing and get pissed or anything. I'm very square! But I can understand why someone might want to.

Swishyhairandtan · 18/09/2024 23:25

I get it, op

Life is just full of responsibilities and drudgery..I’ve got years left of it though so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Coatsoff42 · 18/09/2024 23:28

Basically peasants in the olden days worked hard, then had a tonne of religious holidays to dress up and cut loose, but we have nothing. It’s all very sanitised. It’s all work and then a very photogenic holiday with massive expectations.

I think wonder if there is a time limit before other people feel like shaking it off, the grind.

Just have a wild night out then and let it all blow out/off

Blackgoeswitheverything · 18/09/2024 23:30

Ps I agree! Currently feeling claustrophobic with my job and DH being boring!

Theyhadalovelytime · 18/09/2024 23:32

I got what the OP meant from the start, people pretending not to understand isn't helpful really

MrsBobtonTrent · 18/09/2024 23:35

You need an alter ego. Beryl. Or Margritte. Some days she takes over - very cathartic. Let her have 25 of March, June, September and December. Cast off the shackles of polite repression. Catch a bus to the next town and give her a good time.

Or just be uptight and perfect for 4 days a year instead?

Coatsoff42 · 18/09/2024 23:39

There are few opportunities for mums to go nuts.

Demonhunter · 18/09/2024 23:42

You could start your own cult with the schoolboy9 woman. Between you, you'll have enough madness to keep you entertained for years!

Davros · 18/09/2024 23:47

Wait til your my age (64). It's all pubs, gigs and kitchen discos 🕺

Coatsoff42 · 18/09/2024 23:51

@Demonhunter
im going to start my own cult but call it a book club. Get to another town and cause havoc every now and then. Dress up like mermaids or mountaineers or pirates. Sing and shout and cry and dance.

how can I find anyone to join, I think everyone is happy with the grind? I was wondering if generally people are happy with their status quo. People seem very calm.

I totally get it OP - I’m fully with you.

im the same after doing all the expected “good” mum time over the school holidays and family holidays that are all about the kids and sanitised

I’m also ready to let rip and have a crazy night out!

luckily I’ve got a night away with friends planned very soon.

i don’t need to very often, but about 2 to 3 nights per year is right for me!

Most people are calm to the outside, not so much on the safety of their own bubble. It's easier to be calmer when advising others and speaking about other peoples lives, not so much with your own. Most people I think have an element of madness about them, just manifests in different ways.

Josette77 · 19/09/2024 00:02

I'm dressing up as a fairy and joining you.

Coatsoff42 · 19/09/2024 00:05

@Glamorous24
yes, unsanitised!! That’s what I want. A night less sanitary lol!

Where did that expression come from.

Sounds like a Hen Night.

Is a friend getting married soon? Maybe you can help plan it.
