To think it’s not just me who gets a weird Fanjo feeling

My daughter just showed me where she cut herself shaving in the shower last night. She came downstairs yesterday and announced that she’d caused the bathroom to look “a bit like a crime scene” and this also brought on the same bodily response. When she showed me her wound just now it happened again.
DD noticed my reaction and claimed to know what I was experiencing.
we both describe it as a bit like when you go over one of those bumps in the road that make your tummy somersault briefly…except this is felt in the vagina region.
Why the hell would that happen? Does anyone else experience this? Is it our cervix clamping shut in some kind of anti preocreative response to danger - albeit a bit OTT a response?

Fanny gallops... I get then when I am high up and look down

NewMe2024 · 18/09/2024 19:43

Nope. I recognise javelin arse but not this one.

Mouldyoldtart · 18/09/2024 19:44

Yes!! Happens to me too whenever I see an injury. Though I was the only one

greatcoffeebadhair · 18/09/2024 19:44

You are not alone

MissBecca182 · 18/09/2024 19:47

Fanny gallops and javelin arse have me crying!

And yes, I completely recognise what you're describing!

Yellowpingu · 18/09/2024 19:52

Me too. Good to know I’m not weird

DramaAlpaca · 18/09/2024 19:54

You're not alone.

It's not fanny gallops though, that's something else altogether Wink

Crushed23 · 18/09/2024 19:55

Yes, I definitely do this!

I actually rarely feel anything in my ‘stomach’ - excitement, nervousness etc. - it’s usually in my pelvic floor muscles.

PoachesPeaches · 18/09/2024 19:55

Nope I've had an orchestra in my ovaries but not that one.

Babamamananarama · 18/09/2024 19:57

Oh yes very definitely, you've described it really well. I get the same sensation when I see an animal who's been injured. It's so weird.

Blueskies121 · 18/09/2024 19:59

Yes!! It only happens when I'm watching one of my sons up high on a climbing frame. Weird feeling.

AutumnFroglets · 18/09/2024 20:00

Same here. Thought it was just me. It's almost like a mild electric shock.

DerekFaker · 18/09/2024 20:00

I get a weird feeling in my fingertips over stuff like that

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 18/09/2024 20:01

I call it anxious fanny. It feels like I'm trying to tuck everything safely in.

ATenShun · 18/09/2024 20:03

Firstly you women are a strange breed with your fanny gallops and javelin arse. 😛

I wonder if it is a throwback to our flight or fight response. Emptying the bowels and bladder were an evolutionary thing to aid if we needed to fight or run away. Us blokes get a tightening in the scrotum in stressful situations and in extreme situations the mangina becomes a thing. 😅

Swishyhairandtan · 18/09/2024 20:04

Yes!! Didn’t realise others had it…I only get it when Dd is up high on a climbing frame or falls over etc

Mandoidi · 18/09/2024 20:05

I feel emotions/reactions 'down there' and I thought I was odd! Thank you for this thread 😄

Doltontweedle · 18/09/2024 20:05

Yes!! I get them constantly watching you’ve been framed with everyone injuring themselves, I’ve thought about making a thread about it for years but thought it was too weird, no one else had ever mentioned it. Pmsl at ‘Fanny gallops’ 😂😂

TheReturnOfFeathersMcGraw · 18/09/2024 20:07

I feel it more in my coccyx area - its the same when the dc jump off anything high up in minecraft!

fatphalange · 18/09/2024 20:09

No, my vagina doesn't throb at the sight of blood or when witnessing mild to severe peril. Although I'm quite happy about that 😂

RunAwayTurnAwayRunAwayTurnAway · 18/09/2024 20:12

Yes!

I do- but only in a very specific way - if my Dad is ill or has an injury.

No other family members, including if my DS or DP get hurt/ill. 🥴😵‍💫

Fanny gallops is a good explanation- I would maybe add in it is a cold, dizzy feeling too.

NewUser1111 · 18/09/2024 20:13

Omg I don’t recognise this feeling at all but am loving all the language! Fanny gallops, javelin arse, the mind boggles

doodlyfiddly · 18/09/2024 20:13

My DM & I get this too - definitely not fanny gallops though!! Grin
We call it a 'bum roll'! Hard to imagine unless it you actually get them.

Just4biscuitspls · 18/09/2024 20:14

Your pelvic floor is connected to your stomach (and weirdly- right up to your jaw) so when you feel anxiety etc. it makes sense that you can feel it in different parts of your body! I know this from 2 things- hypo birthing and also a pelvic floor physio I recently had to see.
Even if you hold your tummy in for all of your life- it can actually give you really bad pelvic floor issues in later life. The joys!

doodlyfiddly · 18/09/2024 20:14

I have no idea why that bottle is there!!
